I hear that some Final year students of some schools have just finished exams.

Please send this tweet to them.

This is what they should immediately do:

1. Talk to 3 or 4 of their lecturers about their prospects of applying for scholarships: They will need their lecturers
to write reference letters for them.

If they don't establish the relationship now, it may be hard to convince them to write references later.

Many people have made this mistake and are still regretting till today.

I explained very well in this link:
2. Go to their department and/senate building to inquire about their transcript: They should ask them how best to get their transcripts ASAP. If they can get it before leaving school finally, that will be very good.

Getting transcripts is one of the biggest reasons-
qualified candidates don't get scholarships.

3. Talk to their supervisor about the possibility of publishing their project: Tell them to discuss publications with their supervisors. They should ask their supervisors what they can do to understand the process of publishing a
research article. If their supervisor has a research lab, they should wait for some time to volunteer in their lab or any lab close to your school where they can really learn about research in their field.

4. Learn about updated software in their research field:
If you have paid someone to get your project done, make sure you learn all the software involved in that project and update your skills. This will help you when you start applying for scholarships.

5. Volunteer in different places: Make sure you are actively involved in
something productive. Don't sit at home, waiting for a call-up from NYSC. This is the time to brush up on your skills and volunteer. You will need volunteering activities in some scholarships, and it may be the deciding factor. Volunteer!!!
6. Tell them to subscribe to my YouTube Channel and switch on notifications: youtube.com/channel/UClbo_…

Please pause and read this good news from Canada:

Starting April 1, 2022, international students who graduate from one of four long-standing New Brunswick private career colleges, and who have studied in one of 19 identified occupations, will be
able to apply to the Provincial Nominee Program, allowing them to work and live in the province while they wait for permanent residency.

The participating institutions are:

Atlantic Business College;
Eastern College;
McKenzie College; and
Oulton College.
N.B: They are private colleges, so you cannot work immediately after school, but you can apply for permanent resident immediately after school using PNP.

A great Personal Statement/SOP should have about 5/ 6 paragraphs.

Paragraph 1: Introduce your problem statement and connect it to why you want to study that course.

Paragraph 2: Talk about your educational background, and your undergrad research experiences, and how it has
prepared you for the proposed course.

Paragraph 3: Talk about your leadership, volunteering, and other extracurricular activities. It will be good if these experiences are connected to your intended course.
Paragraph 4: Talk more about your research interest and mention the supervisor you have contacted(This is very important). Explain why you want to work with the person. Be specific about your research interest.

TIPS FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS.

If you know any undergraduate student, send this tweet to them.

They should make sure they do all of these before they graduate if they are looking at scholarship abroad:

1. Make sure they graduate with atleast a 2:1 or Upper credit .
This makes life easier.

Ofcourse, life does not end if you have a Lower grade.

You will only need to do more work.
2. If they are assigned supervisor before their final year, they should make sure they discuss with their supervisor before going for IT.

They should reiterate the fact that they want a PUBLISHABLE project, and they are willing to do anything to get this done.
