#ProphetMuhammad
And Muhammad is not the father to any men among you but he is only a messenger of God and the seal of the Prophets. (Holy Qur’an - 33:41) #ProphetMuhammad
Verily, you have in the Prophet of Allah an excellent model. (Holy Qur’an - 33:22) #ProphetMuhammad
Rather than join in a race for worldly riches, the Holy Prophet directed their attention towards the Quranic verse: Verily, the most honourable among you, in the sight of Allah, is he who is the most righteous among you. (Holy Qur’an - 49:14) #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ counselled Muslims to always express gratitude where appropriate, because he taught that a person who is ungrateful to his fellow man, is in fact ungrateful to God; & He Who is ungrateful to God will not be able to truly derive His blessings.
Within the Holy Qur’an, Allah has commanded mankind to fulfil the rights of each other, at all times. It was for this very reason that Allah sent the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ as a ‘mercy for all of mankind’.
Neither the Holy Qur’an nor the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ ever claimed that he had been sent only as a mercy for the Muslims, but instead, his mercy and compassion extended to all humans, irrespective of differences of religion or belief.
In fact, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was sent not just as a source of mercy and compassion for humans, but indeed also for all animals and living things.
When a person has been especially sent as a source of love, compassion and forgiveness for the entire world, then it is certainly impossible that his teachings could ever prove to be a source of harm or suffering for anyone. #ProphetMuhammad
There is no doubt that his conduct was based solely upon the teachings that were revealed to him by God Almighty. #ProphetMuhammad
It is our firm belief that the system of prophethood that God Almighty established, reached its pinnacle in the person of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ.
We believe him to be the Final Law-bearing Prophet. #ProphetMuhammad
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was a ‘Mercy for all Mankind’, and this meant that he remained constantly anxious and desperate that mankind should be saved from the consequences of Divine Punishment.
I have no connection with this world; my relationship with this world is only of a transitory kind like that of a rider who stops by a shady tree while travelling. He rests for a short while in the shade and then takes off. (Jamia Tirmidhi) #ProphetMuhammad
Do not stand up like the people of Ajam, i.e. as is customary among Non-Arabs, on seeing me. (Abu Daud) #ProphetMuhammad
It is a treaty among us and the Meccans that we cannot hold you; so you should go back to Mecca and if you still feel the same way, only then can you return and embrace Islam. (Abu Daud) #ProphetMuhammad
You will honour the pact in any case. You should not take part in the fighting. We only need the help of God. (Sahih Muslim) #ProphetMuhammad
The Holy Prophet never took revenge for a personal grudge; the only time he would react was for the sake of God and His commandments. (Bukhari) #ProphetMuhammad
Some of the people came as a delegation in 9th Hijra, to Medina. The Holy Prophet treated them very hospitably and took the best care of them and even arranged their stay in the Holy Mosque. (Abu Daud) #ProphetMuhammad
On one occasion the Holy Prophet said: If the mountain of Uhad turns into gold for me, I will not let three nights pass with even a dinar for myself. (Bukhari) #ProphetMuhammad
Once a person came to see the Holy Prophet and was so impressed by his personality that he started trembling from nervousness; at this the Prophet said: Do not be afraid; I am the son of a Quraishi woman who used to eat simple dry meat (Tirmidhi) #ProphetMuhammad
For all true Muslims, the Founder of Islam, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, is their master and guide.
During his life #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ provided moral teachings in such depth and detail, that even the very smallest aspects of life have been addressed.
If a true Muslim chooses to adopt a righteous path with the intention and hope of attaining God’s rewards, then his every act and deed should be in accordance with the teachings of Allah the Almighty and His Messenger. #ProphetMuhammad
We believe that the law revealed to him in the shape of the Holy Qur’an was the Ultimate and Perfect Law. We believe that the Guidance of the Holy Qur’an is universal and everlasting. #ProphetMuhammad
After spending his entire days working tirelessly in the cause of Islam, he would then spend virtually all night and every night bowed down in front of God begging and praying desperately, that mankind be saved from destruction. #ProphetMuhammad
His ardent desire was that man should be absolutely firm in His conviction that the Possessor of All Powers was the One God. The Holy Prophetﷺ desired all of this because he knew that those who did not recognise God Almighty would come to face His Wrath. #ProphetMuhammad
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ instructed the Muslims that during warfare, no church or any other place of worship was to be damaged.
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ instructed the Muslims that during warfare, no priest or religious leader was to be caused any harm.
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ instructed the Muslims that during warfare, no women, children or elderly people were to be harmed.
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ instructed the Muslims that during warfare, no Muslim should attack anyone who did not attack
The rules of engagement given by the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ were not limited to protecting only humans, but went even further. Thus, the Holy Prophetﷺ instructed that during any battle no trees were to be felled and no crops were to be destroyed.
In spite of cruelty and barbarity, when Makkah was eventually conquered by the Muslims, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, in an act of unparalleled mercy, chose to forgive all of those who had bitterly oppressed the Muslims for so many years.
We, Ahmadi Muslims, follow the true teachings that the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ brought with him.
When certain anti-Islamic groups choose to either mock or ridicule or insult our master, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, or to raise wholly false allegations against them, then this naturally leads to our feelings and sentiments being grievously injured and hurt.
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ – the perfect exemplar, the prince of peace, the pride of the universe – whose life was immaculate and whose character was unimpeachable, came into the world as a mercy for all mankind.
For centuries, the opponents of Islam have consistently ignored all that was patently good, noble and beneficent in his life, example and teachings and have attempted to portray him, God forbid, as blood-thirsty and violent. #ProphetMuhammad
Our Beloved Prophet has been greatly misrepresented by some of his own followers, both in medieval and present times, who have committed enormities and monstrous crimes in his fair name. #ProphetMuhammad
It is a great distinction of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ that the very religion he founded bears a name the literal meaning of which is “peace”.
The teachings of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ guarantee and establish peace at all levels and in all spheres: individual, social, economic, national and international.
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ defined a Muslim as one whose word or deed cause no harm to others.
It was from the desert of Arabia and from the mouth the unlettered Prophet that the great truth was promulgated that our God is the Lord, not of any particular tribe or nation, but of all peoples and all nations. #ProphetMuhammad
Respecting religious sentiments is another invaluable lesson taught to us by the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ.
His teachings provide conditions of peace for all those who heed his admonitions – neighbours and wayfarers, rich and poor, young and old, men and women. #ProphetMuhammad
By recognising the social status of women and their rightful place in society as wives and mothers; by securing their rights in inheritance, in divorce, in the guardianship of children and in worship; the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ established peace in the family on a firm basis.
During his address at Farewell Pilgrimage, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ said: “All of you are equal. All men, whatever nation or tribe they may belong to, and whatever station in life they may hold are equal.”
During his address at Farewell Pilgrimage, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ said: “Even as the fingers of the two hands are equal, so are human beings equal to one another. No one has any right, any superiority to claim over another. You are as brothers.”
During his address at Farewell Pilgrimage, he said: “O men, your God is One and your ancestor is one. An Arab possesses no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab over an Arab.“ #ProphetMuhammad
During his address at Farewell Pilgrimage, he said: “A white man is in no way superior to a black nor for that matter is a black man better than a white, but only to the extent to which he discharged his duty to God and man.” #ProphetMuhammad
During his address at Farewell Pilgrimage, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ said: “The most honoured among you in the sight of God is the most righteous among you.”
During his address at Farewell Pilgrimage, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ said: “Even as this month is sacred, this land is inviolate, and this day is holy, so has God made the lives, property and honour of every man sacred.”
During his address at Farewell Pilgrimage, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ said: “To take any man’s life or his property, or attack his honour, is as unjust and wrong as to violate the sacredness of this day, this month, and this territory.”
In the domain of economic peace, the teachings of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ are an invaluable source of guidance for us. He took steps to remove vast disparities of wealth and poverty, necessary for the establishment of economic peace.
He enjoined the distribution of inheritance among all heirs – parents, children, widows, brothers and sisters – so that no one has the power to bequeath the whole of his property to one person and thereby promote the accumulation of wealth. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ recognised the right of the poor in the wealth of the rich and through the institution of Zakat, he provided for the discharge of all those rights that the poor have in the wealth of the rich, and thus bring about reconciliation between the haves & have-nots.
The teachings of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ are indispensable for the establishment of national peace.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ taught that authority vested in rulers is not their private property but a national trust that must be discharged with absolute justice and that government should be carried out in consultation with the people.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ admonished the people to realise that the power to choose their rulers was a gift from God and therefore it should be carefully invested in those who fully deserve it.
Islam forbids aggression but urges us to fight if failure to fight jeopardises peace and promotes war. This is the teaching on which peace can ultimately be built and this is the teaching on which the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ based his practice.
For thirteen long years in Makkah after receiving the Call, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ suffered persecution and privations that were bitter, cruel and sustained.
His tiny band of followers suffered savage cruelties. They bore all these with dignity & decorum, setting the highest example of steadfastness. Never did they offer violence against violence, preferring to migrate from their homeland to Madinah instead. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was compelled to take up the sword in defence of truth and freedom of conscience. Failure to fight would have meant the extermination of free belief and the search for truth.
Even during conflict, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ carefully particularised a number of rules of war for his followers intended to ensure that no transgression occurred. They were forbidden from attacking women, children, the elderly and the infirm.
During warfare, Muslims were not to strike terror into the general population and were always to keep in view the possibility of peace. Likewise, they were to be mindful of protecting public buildings, fruit trees, cattle and religious seminaries. #ProphetMuhammad
This conquest of Makkah, this glorious day in the history of Islam, this singular event in the history of mankind affirms more than anything else that our Beloved Prophet was the true Champion of Peace. #ProphetMuhammad
Victory did not spoil him. Triumph did not detract from his excellent virtues. Power did not corrupt him. The world witnessed the spectacle of the most magnanimous and generous act of forgiveness of which history furnishes a record. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ readily granted amnesty to his erstwhile persecutors, the magnanimity of which softened the hardest of hearts. Bitter enemies of the morning became warm friends by midday.
Even the most die-hard enemies of Islam could not resist the healing balm so generously and so effectively applied by #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ.
Let there remain no doubt that #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was indeed a Messenger of peace and reconciliation whose greatest achievement in this regard was the establishment of peace between man and God.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was born in an era which was the darkest period of the Dark Ages. Religion, morals and philosophy were all at a low ebb. The Arabs were divided into warring factions; he united them in love for each other and for their Creator.
The Arabs were responding like beasts to their animal urges; he refined their cravings into aspirations for the sublime. #ProphetMuhammad
The Arabs were idolatrous and lacking in any notion of Divine Unity; he established them as the sincerest worshippers of the One True God. #ProphetMuhammad
The Holy Prophet would continually pray for the salvation of his spiritual progeny. #ProphetMuhammad
Sinless though he was, he prayed for the forgiveness of our sins. To save us from the fire of Hell, he would stand so long in prayer that his feet would get swollen. #ProphetMuhammad
He wept for our sake till his breast heaved like a boiling pot and his prayer mat became soaked in tears. #ProphetMuhammad
He drew unto us the mercy of God; he toiled for His pleasure, again for our sake. #ProphetMuhammad
He caused us to be wrapped up in the mantle of Allah’s grace and the garment of His compassion. #ProphetMuhammad
He paved the way for us to achieve everlasting peace, communion and union with our Maker. #ProphetMuhammad
Nothing seems more ironical than that the Prophet who lit up the path to everlasting peace, communion and union with our God; should be branded the prophet of war whose religion was propagated at the point of the sword. #ProphetMuhammad
We will content ourselves, in the knowledge that every objective study of the life of our Beloved #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ cannot but affirm his excellent virtues and peaceful disposition.
His life is simply the most remarkable of chapters in the annals of human history. #ProphetMuhammad
A solitary voice, raised in Mecca, was, under Divine Command, calling men to the worship of One God and proclaiming that through responding to this call would humankind achieve true dignity, honour, prosperity and happiness both here and Hereafter. #ProphetMuhammad
Within an astonishingly brief period, over vast areas darkness was dispelled, order was established, all manner of beneficent institutions sprang into life, a high moral order was set up and the blessings of knowledge and science began to be widely diffused. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad was, as is well known, born an orphan, his father having died before his birth. He lost his mother and guardian grandfather in quick succession while still a little boy after which he was taken into the care of his uncle, Abu Talib, who raised him.
Abu Talib was very fond of his nephew and always watched over him with great care and affection but it appears that his wife was not affected by these considerations to the same degree. #ProphetMuhammad
It often happened that the wife of Abu Talib would give something to her children, leaving out their little cousin. If Abu Talib come home, he would find his little nephew sitting apart, a perfect picture of dignity without a trace of sulkiness on his face. #ProphetMuhammad
From the childhood, #ProphetMuhammad had remarkable qualities of patience and contentment that would be fully manifested in his latter life.
In his early life, the grand Divine design is retrospectively perceptible that God Himself was his true Guardian. #ProphetMuhammad
He never paid homage to an idol nor partook of any food presented to an idol as offering. He never consumed liquor, nor gambled and in general kept aloof of all the frivolous activities of his fellow youths. #ProphetMuhammad
All the authorities are agreed in ascribing to the youth of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ a modesty of deportment and purity of manners rare among the people of Mecca.
The noble and honourable conduct of the unobtrusive youth won the approbation of his fellow citizens and by common consent he received the titles “The Honest” and “The Truthful”. #ProphetMuhammad
Through centuries of Arab history, we find that it was only in the case of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ that his people conferred the titles “The Honest” and “The Truthful.”
This is the fact that the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ possessed the qualities of honesty and truthfulness to a matchless and peerless degree in the estimation of his people.
It is related that in his prime, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was distinguished by the beauty of his person: his figure was commanding, his aspect majestic, his features regular and most expressive, his eyes black and piercing and his health robust.
His captivating smile, his rich and sonorous voice, the graceful dignity of his gestures and the apparent frankness and heartiness of his manner gained him favourable attention of all whom he spoke to. #ProphetMuhammad
His perception was quick and active, his memory capacious and retentive, his imagination sublime and lively, his judgement clear and lucid, his courage dauntless, his patience enduring and his tenacity of purpose admirable. #ProphetMuhammad
His natural eloquence was enhanced by the use of the purest dialect of Arabia and adorned by the charm of a graceful diction. #ProphetMuhammad
His uncle recommended him for employment to Khadija (ra), a wealthy, highly respected widow among the Quraish. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ acquitted himself so honourably and Khadija (ra) was so impressed by his integrity & personality that, despite being 40 years old and 15 years his senior, she made a proposal of marriage to him, which he readily accepted.
The marriage of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ with Khadija (ra), by all accounts, was a singularly happy one, with the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, to his honour it must be added, living most affectionately with her and her alone.
When a dispute arose during the reconstruction of the Holy Ka’aba which threatened to plunge different clans of the Quraish into war, it was his wise and sagacious arbitration which saved the situation and settled the dispute to the satisfaction of all. #ProphetMuhammad
It was in the service of the poor, the weak and the marginalised that he exerted himself the most. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was a founding and very proud member of the Hilful Fadhul, a chivalrous league pledged to defend the weak, to champion the oppressed and to vindicate their rights against tyranny and aggression.
Many were the slaves who owed their freedom to him and many were the widows and orphans who lived on his generosity. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ had received wealth and property from Hazrat Khadija (ra) after their marriage and he distributed this entirely among the destitute without keeping a penny to himself.
It was the purity of the man within which at once convinced his wife - Khadija (ra), that he was a true prophet. As such she became the first believer in Islam in the realisation that a true man cannot a false prophet make. #ProphetMuhammad
With the reassurance of his beloved wife Khadija (ra) and with subsequent revelations he received, conviction in the divinity of his mission now replaced the doubts he had struggled within his mind. #ProphetMuhammad
Standing alone, he proclaimed the glory of Allah, publicly denounced the idolatry and the evils ways of his people, and invited them to the worship of the One True God and to a better life. #ProphetMuhammad
“The One and Only God is my Witness when I say that if they were to place the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand, I would not desist from preaching the truth that God commands”. #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ response to his uncle Abu Talib.
When all attempts to dissuade the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ from propagating his faith failed, the fury of the Meccans knew no bounds. Social ostracism of the Muslims would be their next move.
A boycott was imposed upon the small community of Muslims which lasted for several years inflicting terrible hardships and privations on them. #ProphetMuhammad
Steadfastness is the hallmark of true Prophets and incomparable demonstration of resoluteness in the face of extreme persecution by #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ is indeed testament to his truth and belief in the Divine origin of his claim.
“For a long period”, writes the Promised Messiah(as), “he had to bear hardships, to be steadfast under which was not possible for a cunning impostor”. (Essence of Islam, p.305) #ProphetMuhammad
The death of his faithful and beloved wife, Hazrat Khadija (ra), had left the Holy Prophetﷺ bereft of his principal source of earthly comfort and consolation. #ProphetMuhammad
The death of his beloved wife, Khadija (ra) and dear uncle, Abu Talib, in the same month left #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, without the latter’s protection, exposed to more brutal and savage persecution. There was no more room left for any meaningful dialogue in Mecca.
Thirteen years after the commencement of his ministry, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ received the Divine command to leave Mecca.
His miraculous escape from Mecca, against all odds, on the same very night his enemies had avowed his assassination and his subsequent safe passage to Medina, is truly a sign of consummate Divine support for the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ.
In Medina the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was not only enthusiastically and joyfully received by the Muslims but was also, by mutual agreement, invited to assume the role of Chief Executive of Medina, uniting in his person the offices of Sovereign, Judge, General and Prophet.
After migration to Medina, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was free to preach his faith and his followers increased rapidly.
With his own blessed hands & with the aid of his holy companions, #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ built a mosque of a simple and unassuming character, and from a rough & unadorned pulpit within this he expounded the absolute Oneness of Allah & inveighed against the idolatry of his nation.
He transformed their vice and wickedness into virtue and righteousness; bridled the vindictive passions of his fellow countrymen and drilled into them the magnificent ideal of the common brotherhood of man. #ProphetMuhammad
He received and dialogued with emissaries and religious delegations from within and outside Arabia; addressed letters of invitation to Islam to rulers of countries in close proximity to Arabia. #ProphetMuhammad
He enacted the compendium of laws and inaugurated the institutions of a movement that was destined to extend itself over the then know world. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ awakened in his followers’ intense spiritual hunger and breathed into them a spirit of zeal, enthusiasm and devotedness.
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was indeed a personification of simplicity.
Even where he possessed more than imperial power nothing could exceed his simple ways and austere habits. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ lived in a small adobe hut and slept on the ground.
His household was the most basic and his home was bare of decorations. #ProphetMuhammad
He would do his own household work, sweep out his own chambers, mend his own shoes and patch his own cloak. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was granted abundant wealth of the world but he did not soil his holy hands with it, preferring poverty to wealth and meekness to power.
Apart from his awe-inspiring and majestic countenance, he was undistinguished amongst his companions in his manner of dress so much so that unacquainted visitors would often mistake Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra) for the Prophet. #ProphetMuhammad
At home #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ divided his morsel with his servant and when he journeyed, he shared his ride with him.
His staple food consisted of dried dates, barley bread and water; his luxuries were milk and honey. #ProphetMuhammad
Its related by his Holy Consort that they would often pass a whole month without once lighting a fire to cook and on the day of his demise, there was no food in his house except for a few dates. Yet, by then #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was the acknowledged ruler of the whole of Arabia.
Following his escape to Medina, the Meccans began to organise the Arab tribes in a series of alliances designed to bring about his destruction and that of his companions and of anyone who might dare to lend him aid and support. #ProphetMuhammad
To the Holy Prophet’s many and various responsibilities and anxieties were now added the responsibility of the defence of Medina and the protection of the increasing number of Muslims scattered around the peninsula against an enemy who far outnumbered them. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ proved himself to be a wise leader, a farsighted statesman and an adept commander.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ condemned and forbade all brutal and savage practices of war and instituted a set of rules designed to render even war humane.
In what can be seen as a categorical manifestation of Divine support and succour, all expeditions undertaken by Meccan forces against the Muslims were successfully beaten back by the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ and his Companions despite their vastly inferior numbers.
The ultimate victory came in the eighth year after Hijra when the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, at the head of ten thousand men, marched on Mecca and gained a bloodless conquest of the city, its inhabitants having surrendered at discretion.
The humility of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ shone the most on this grand day. His entry into his native city was not marked by any triumphalism, pomp or circumstance nor was there any display of valour and vanity.
In a token of gratitude and thanksgiving to his Lord, he entered Mecca after the victory, with his head bowed down so low upon Qaswa, his camel, that his head almost touched upon the camel’s hump. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ did not permit any word of taunt or humiliation of his erstwhile persecutors and after gaining complete control of the prestigious city of Mecca, he neither indulged in lavish celebrations nor held any victory parades.
At the victory of Mecca, #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ retired to the house of his cousin, the daughter of Abu Talib, who could only offer him a meal of very stale bread garnished with the dregs of leftover vinegar.
Compare the celebration after victory of Mecca with the extravagant feasts and revelries held by victorious emperors and generals throughout history and we shall then better appreciate the nobility and humility of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ.
The glorious day of victory of Mecca will, always be remembered for the generosity and magnanimity which the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ displayed towards his enemies.
At the victory of Mecca, all the scorn and ridicule; the long years of bitter, cruel & sustained persecution; the hardship & suffering; the loss of dear & devoted family & friends were all, in the moment of triumph, pardoned and forgiven in an instant. #ProphetMuhammad
History furnishes no parallel instance of such complete forgiveness, such utter beneficence, on so large a scale as at the victory of Mecca by #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ.
At the victory of Mecca, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ also displayed a remarkable expression of loyalty.
While he was addressing the Meccans announcing his decision to forgive and forget, misgivings arose in the minds of the Ansar, the Medinite Muslims.
“I left Mecca for the sake of God and I cannot return to it. I will live and die with you.” The Ansar (the Medinite Muslims) were moved to tears by this singular expression of love and loyalty by the #ProphetMuhammad
It was indeed such noble and sterling qualities which continued to win the hearts of his contemporaries. #ProphetMuhammad
By the time of his departure from this world, Arabia in its entirely, previously immersed in paganism, misguidance and creature worship, abandoned the darkness of idolatry and embraced the light of Islam. #ProphetMuhammad
Idolatry was abolished throughout Arabia and replaced with the true concept of the Unity of Allah. No materialistic philosophy can ever explain this transformation. #ProphetMuhammad
Indeed, no materialistic philosophy can ever explain how the erstwhile enemies of the Holy Prophetﷺ came to cherish the purest love and deepest reverence for him. #ProphetMuhammad
Men who used to loathe him and send their children against him were now willing to lay down their lives in the cause of his religion. #ProphetMuhammad
Women who had earlier opened up the chests of the Companions of the Holy Prophets (saw) and chewed upon their livers in hatred would now pray for their children to be martyred in his defence. #ProphetMuhammad
No one inspired by worldly motives could have affected such a change; no one inspired by worldly motives could have commanded such love and veneration. #ProphetMuhammad
The #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ wrought such a transformation in the lives of his countrymen which seemed impossible at the time of his birth and in doing so conferred an inestimable favour upon humanity at large.
At a time when the night with all its horrors and evils had encompassed the entire surface of the earth, #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ brought about a marvellous change in the lives of his contemporaries, raising them to the highest points of intellectual, moral and spiritual progress.
His only surviving son, Ibrahim, passed away in his infancy. It was indeed an agonising loss for him at an old age to see the demise of his only son. #ProphetMuhammad
Indeed, only a true prophet would have so readily and so completely resigned himself to the Will of Allah under all circumstances as did the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ.
In rejection and in persecution, in trial and in adversity, in the loss of his parents, children, wives, family members and countless companions, his life presents manifold and diverse instances where the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ went through a succession of bitter experiences.
He bore all losses and calamities cheerfully, submitting to the Will of Allah at all times and remaining resolutely steadfast in his task. #ProphetMuhammad
Once while on a pilgrimage, #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ visited the grave of his mother and the tender recollection of her so overcame him that his eyes welled up with tears. His companions asked what the matter was and he replied saying that it was the tomb of his dear mother.
Every action of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was governed by his love of Allah.
Everything #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ did was an act of worship.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ supplicated Allah when arising in the morning and when retiring to sleep at night; when starting a meal and upon its completion; when leaving his home and when returning home, when entering and when exiting the mosque.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ supplicated when donning on his attire, when putting on new shoes, when mounting his ride.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ supplicated upon the sighting of the moon, upon the falling of rain, upon an eclipse.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ constantly supplicated his Lord in everything, great or small, that he did for such was his reliance on Divine grace and mercy.
During his final pilgrimage to Mecca, the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ delivered an address in the Valley of Arafat in front of a concourse of one hundred thousand devout pilgrims, the largest assembly of mankind he ever addressed.
His address, which became known as the Farewell Sermon, contains a beautiful embodiment of the entire spirit and teaching of Islam. #ProphetMuhammad
The farewell sermon shows how deep was the Holy Prophet’s concern for the welfare of man and the peace of the world. #ProphetMuhammad
Among the cares & anxieties to which he gave expression were his care & anxiety about the status of women. He took care that he should not pass away from this world to the next without assuring to women the status which was their right in the sight of God. #ProphetMuhammad
In his farewell sermon, #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ expressed solicitude for the welfare of the prisoners of war who were treated as slaves and subjected to all kinds of cruelties.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ admonished his followers to order their lives in accordance with the commandments of God; to take particular care that no trespass was committed against any person in respect of his life, property or honour.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ taught that all men, whatever their social status or ethnicity, were equal in the sight of God, the only distinction being the degree of one’s God-consciousness.
No man ever showed such concern and care for the good of man, the welfare of women, the rights of the weak, the promotion of equality among mankind and the peace of the world as did the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ.
His life, in every shape or form, was ‘a mercy for the universe.’ #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was a model of virtue, uprightness, sobriety, purity and piety. His was a life of grand success.
He started as an orphaned child and ended as the arbiter of the destinies of a whole nation. #ProphetMuhammad
He was raised at a time when the whole world was steeped in ignorance and darkness and he departed the world having restored its lost truth and converted its darkness into light. #ProphetMuhammad
All the excellences of Prophethood reached their climax in him. #ProphetMuhammad
In the role Divine wisdom imposed upon him, he acquitted himself with distinction and with acclamation, with honour and with credit. #ProphetMuhammad
In every aspect of his life, #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ exhibited such bright signs that every unbiased soul is compelled to admit that he was indeed the perfect man – matchless, peerless, incomparable. In the words of William Shakespeare, we ‘shall not look upon his like again.’
With humility he assumed the mantle of prophethood. With dignity he discharged his office. With serenity he departed this life. We recognise in him such superlative qualities which are beyond the pale of expression. #ProphetMuhammad
Where most leaders become compromised by power, his excellences shone more in power. #ProphetMuhammad
When Hazrat Aisha (ra) was asked to describe his character, she replied without hesitation, without reservation and without equivocation, that “his character was the Qur’an.” To know him is to know the Qur’an and to know the Qur’an is to know him. #ProphetMuhammad
When Hazrat Aisha (ra) was asked to describe his character, she replied without hesitation, that “his character was the Qur’an.” It is patently obvious what she meant. He practised what he preached, he preached what he practised. #ProphetMuhammad
May Allah, in His Infinite Grace and Mercy, send down His peace and choicest blessings on His Noble Prophet and enable us all to emulate his excellent example. Ameen. #ProphetMuhammad
Beginning around 609 A.D., in the first stage, #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was concerned exclusively with his religious mission; in the second stage, the religious mission was overlaid, and almost overwhelmed, by the political enterprise.
If one reads the account of Muhammad’s entry into Mecca along with the account of Marius Sulla as he entered Rome, one would be in a position to recognize the magnanimity and moderation of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ. There were no proscription lists, no plunder, no wanton revenge.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ never wavered in his belief in his mission nor, what is more extraordinary, in his belief as to its precise nature and well-defined limits. He was a Prophet charged with a mission from God; nothing less.
It is false to suppose that #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ in Medina laid aside his role of preacher and a missionary of Islam, or that when he had a large army at his command, he ceased to invite unbelievers to accept the new faith.
Most of the kings and sometimes even their near ones are regarded as above the law of the land in many cases. But #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ never considered himself above the law.
The Holy Prophet never considered himself above the law. In fact, he once said: I swear to God! I would not allow my uncle the benefit of one dirham i.e., slightest preference in treatment over others. #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ had the real status of a Prophet and not that of a ruler upon this earth. He was the seal of the Prophets i.e., the best and the most perfect of the prophets.
Although #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ status was that of a Prophet of God and Seal of the Prophets yet there is no reason to doubt that from another aspect he could also aptly be regarded as a king.
Looking back at his life in Medina, it becomes very clear that #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was not only a king but was also truly an emperor. His position was so unique & multi-dimensional that even the question & the debate whether he was a Prophet or king appears unnecessary.
Because #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was a perfect example for all walks of life, it was necessary that he should be given kingship also to enable him to demonstrate the supremacy of character and perfection of behaviour which should be associated with kingship.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ remained innocent of the ill-effects of character which sometimes accumulate in a person who is granted a kingship, and the opponents of Islam, placing and presenting him in the line of worldly kings, have done great injustice to his noble person.
It is proved that the Holy Prophet of Islam, from the study of his life sayings, actions and excellent character, was not only a Prophet but he was also free from all undesirable elements and blemishes associated with many worldly kings. #ProphetMuhammad
On one side #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was an ideal to follow in his deeds, sayings, character & excellence of behaviour; on the other, he demonstrated such a perfect example of political acumen & supreme leadership that anyone could seek valuable guidance from him in this field also.
The orientalists and other Western scholars often misrepresent the life and work of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him). Their errors must be pointed out and refuted by facts. #ProphetMuhammad
The renowned British historian, Arnold Toynbee, is clearly misguided in his writings about the character of the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ. He is only one example of Euro-centric authors who, throughout the centuries, have attempted to smear the innocent name of the Prophet of God.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ was named by Almighty Allah as Khatamun Nabiyyeen, the Seal of the Prophets, the best and most perfect of all of the prophets of God.
Were Solon and Caesar appointed by God? Is the comparison apt? Fortunately, there are few Western scholars who deal fairly with their investigations of Islam and the Holy Prophet. #ProphetMuhammad
It is a sad story that a famous historian, known for his liberal views, was misled. Now when the facts were scrutinized and closely examined by other historians, they rejected Toynbee’s assertions outright. #ProphetMuhammad
Although Margoliouth, however, tried his level best to establish that the Prophet had changed, he had to admit that he never neglected his roles of preacher and teacher. #ProphetMuhammad
A most biased enemy of Islam, Margoliouth contradicts the allegations of Toynbee and stated that the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, was the Head of State as well, and refers to his operations as a prophet. #ProphetMuhammad
R. Bosworth Smith admits the sincerity of the Holy Prophet’s belief up to the time of Hijrah (i.e., migration to Medina) and says that any change in his character and aims must be considered in the context of the general conditions of his life. #ProphetMuhammad
R. Bosworth Smith states: Muhammad preserved to the end of his career the modesty & simplicity of life which is the crowning beauty of his character; the Prophet became more than a prophet; he became a temporal ruler, aided by the Holy Quran & temporal means #ProphetMuhammad
Holy Prophet’s life sketch, sayings, actions & loftiness of character prove positively that he was not only the greatest of all prophets but even in his secular role he was unique. The whole of his life is recorded in minute details and is like an open book. #ProphetMuhammad
Had the Holy Prophet lived like an ordinary ruler, history would certainly have pointed out his acts of omission and commission and would never have spared him for any shortfalls in moral conduct. #ProphetMuhammad
Kings are generally very fond of outward exhibitions of pomp and show and, in fact, this is one of their primary means of expressing their all exalted status. The Holy Prophet, however, was absolutely free from all such trappings. #ProphetMuhammad
Until the end of his life the Holy Prophet used to wear thick and coarse cotton clothing. #ProphetMuhammad
There are some descriptions from the thousands of illustrations in the life of #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, his simplicity and humility. When this is compared with the pomp and show of worldly kings, we are left with a feeling of utter amazement.
In ordinary dealings and conversations, worldly kings have a peculiar style of ceremony and grandeur; but #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, while talking and dealing with thousands of people, never even let them feel that they were conversing with a superior person & always kept a low profile
The Holy Prophet said: It is the right of the lender to demand the return of his debt. #ProphetMuhammad
Once the Holy Prophet was in the company of his companions in a jungle. The Holy Prophet distributed the work-load and himself participated in making food. In spite of being the benefactor for the whole world, he worked like an ordinary person. #ProphetMuhammad
Holy Prophet's wife Hazrat Ayesha (ra) used to say that the Holy Prophet worked in the house like an ordinary person and never gave the impression of being a superior person than the rest. #ProphetMuhammad
Have worldly kings bowed low in such humility? If the Holy Prophet had been a king in the ordinary sense, he would have shown the usual arrogance, pride and pompousness of kings. #ProphetMuhammad
Abu Rafi was a slave and a disbeliever who was sent to Medina as an ambassador by the Meccans. Reaching Medina, he was so impressed by the truth of Islam and by the personality of #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ that he wanted to accept Islam and remain in Medina.
Can anybody describe a person with a character like that of the Holy Prophet ﷺ as a king in the ordinary sense? Can anyone present a single example akin to this? #ProphetMuhammad
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ, is reported to have said that the best among men is the one who is best in his treatment to his wife.
#ProphetMuhammad ﷺ practised what he preached, and he preached what he practised.
Allah sends down His blessings on the Prophet and His angels pray for him. O ye who believe, you too should invoke God’s blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace. (Holy Qur’an - 33:57) #ProphetMuhammad
He was not an innovation as a Prophet (46:10) and there are prophecies about his advent both in the Torah and the Gospels (7:58). The Holy Prophetﷺ had a promise of divine protection (5:68) and was guarded and helped by the angels (13:12 & 66:5) #ProphetMuhammad
There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger. #ProphetMuhammad
لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله
His mission was to recite the Signs of God, teach people the book and wisdom and purify them (2:130 & 62:2-3) #ProphetMuhammad
Historical fact - when the Meccans offered to give #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ anything he wanted, his reply was totally uncompromising on the question of the Unity of God. He said: I will not renounce my message from God even if they put the sun on my right hand and the moon on my left.
The Holy Quran was revealed to the #ProphetMuhammad ﷺ over a period of 23 years which was just completed before he died (and all Prophets had died before him, 4:154) at the age of 63. The religion of Islam was firmly established in Arabia.
He was a perfect man (22:2), a perfect leader (36:2) and an excellent exemplar for mankind (33:22) #ProphetMuhammad
God says: O Prophet, we have sent thee as a witness, and a bearer of glad tidings and a warner, and as a summoner unto Allah by His command and a light-giving sun. (33:46-47) #ProphetMuhammad
Hazrat Muhammadﷺ was Allah’s Messenger for all mankind (4:80, 7:159, 34:29). He was sent as a mercy for all mankind (21:108) #ProphetMuhammad
He received revelation from God as did previous Prophets (4:164, 42:4) and he was enjoined to convey the revelation to the people (5:68) #ProphetMuhammad
He was commanded to be alert and ever ready to spread the truth (74:2) and saw his success in the propagation of Islam during his life time (110:3) #ProphetMuhammad
His message was universal (34:29) and he always yearned that mankind should believe (18:7, 26:4, 93:8) #ProphetMuhammad
He was the Seal of the Prophets (33:41) and achieved the highest status in nearness to Allah (53:9) #ProphetMuhammad
Whoso obeys Allah and this Messenger shall be among those upon whom Allah has bestowed His favours – the Prophets, the Faithful ones, the Martyrs and the Righteous; and they are excellent companions. (4:70) #ProphetMuhammad
