Today, the Biden-Harris Administration released the first-ever National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality. whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/…
This strategy sets forth a comprehensive agenda to advance gender equity and equality in domestic and foreign policy—and demonstrates that families, communities, and nations around the world stand to benefit. Read the full strategy here: whitehouse.gov/wp-content/upl…
The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to ensuring that all people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Therefore, the strategy addresses intersecting forms of discrimination which impact individuals in underserved communities, including communities of color, in the United States and around the world.
📍The strategy identifies ten interconnected priorities:
1) economic security
2) gender-based violence
3) health
4) education
5) justice and immigration
6) human rights and equality under the law
7) security and humanitarian relief
8) climate change
9) science and technology
10) democracy, participation, and leadership.
These priorities are inherently linked and must be tackled together.🔗
This whole-of-government effort crosses domestic and foreign affairs, uniting our efforts to close gender gaps both at home and abroad and restoring U.S. leadership on gender equality globally.

Today, on #LatinaEqualPayDay, we celebrate the contributions of Latinas to the American economy and call attention to the work we must do to ensure all people earn equal pay for equal work, regardless of gender or race. 💰#LEPD #WageGap #Trabajadoras
•Over a 40-year career, Latinas on average lose more than $1M lifetime earnings due to pay inequity, earning 57 cents to every dollar earned by the average non-Hispanic white man. COVID has deepened the wage gap, and today nearly 17% of adult Latinas are living in poverty.
This lost income exacerbates the racial wealth gap and impedes Latinas’ ability to support their families and build emergency funds to endure challenges like the current pandemic.
