Jeffrey McKellop, a former member of U.S. Special Forces, will be in court tomorrow afternoon trying to secure pretrial release. Here’s video of one of several attacks he made on police on Jan. 6:
DOJ argues McKellop has "a short fuse,” has shown "an unwillingness to conform his behavior to the most basic requirements of society” and has a "lack of appreciation for the seriousness of his conduct on January 6.” storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco… Image
"The officers attacked by the defendant will suffer lifelong consequences. Indeed, time has demonstrated that the officer whom the defendant stabbed in the face [with a flagpole] will likely have a permanent scar.” Image

Hearing underway shortly on the detention of Cody Mattice, a "stay-at-home dad” who attacked cops on Jan. 6.

DOJ: “the defendant’s care of his children is commendable. But the needs of his children… did not stop him from using pepper spray against officers.” #FenceSnatcher
Government also argues Mattice’s mother, brother, sister, aunt, and fiancée all either "encouraged him to riot, supported his choice to do so, or condoned his behavior after-the-fact.” storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…
"Cody from Rochester.mp4” will be part of the record.

“When will the bigotry end?” Trump enthusiast Troy Smocks asks Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is now about to sentence him.
Judge Chutkan says it is “offensive” and “audacious” for Smocks to hold himself up as a victim of racial discrimination.
