(1/11) Today, the Israeli Ministry of Defense issued a military order declaring @DCIPalestine and five other Palestinian human rights organizations to be "terrorist organizations."

Here's our full statement from General Director Khaled Quzmar: bit.ly/3nqj8Iq
(2/11) We are an independent, local Palestinian child rights organization dedicated to defending and promoting the rights of children living in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.
(3/11) For 30 years, DCIP has investigated, documented, and exposed grave human rights violations against Palestinian children; held Israeli and Palestinian authorities accountable to universal human rights principles; and advocated to advance justice and protection for children.
(4/11) As we defend Palestinian children in the Israeli military courts, delegitimization and disinformation campaigns against DCIP have been advanced by
nationalist Israeli CSOs and organizations outside of Israel, with the support of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
(5/11) Despite grave risks, our staff works tirelessly with limited resources to defend and promote the rights of Palestinian children. We carry out our work in a situation of armed conflict where perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity enjoy systemic impunity.
(6/11) Rather than demand Israeli forces end breaches of int'l law or Israeli authorities hold perpetrators accountable, these nationalist social forces in Israel, including govt ministries and agencies, aim to silence and eliminate our human rights work.
(7/11) We reject the Israeli government’s designation of DCIP as a “terrorist organization” as it is another unjust action by Israeli authorities to criminalize and eliminate our lawful human rights and child protection work.
(8/11) After years of delegitimization and disinformation campaigns against us have failed to silence our work, Israeli authorities now choose to escalate repressive tactics by labeling civil society organizations as terrorists.
(9/11) As the Israeli govt becomes emboldened and moves to criminalize legitimate human rights and humanitarian work carried out by Palestinian human rights and civil society orgs, politically-motivated prosecutions in Israel’s military court system will become the norm.
(10/11) We resolve to continue defending Palestinian children and exposing grave violations inherent in Israel’s military occupation of Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.
(11/11) We demand that the international community use all available means to hold Israeli authorities accountable for targeted attacks and repression of Palestinian civil society organizations and act to end complicity and support to the Israeli apartheid regime.

Thread: Israeli forces killed 16-year-old Palestinian teenager Said Yousef Mohammad Odeh on May 5, 2021. Now, his family, friends, and community are reflecting on Said's life.

His mother asks, "What did he do to justify his killing? He was just 16 years old."
Said's cousin, Munther, was shot in the back by Israeli soldiers while trying to carry Said to safety.

"We were standing here, and suddenly, the army came out from under the olive trees."
Israeli forces blocked paramedics from accessing Said after he was shot. The paramedic who finally reached him, Faiz, was surprised to see the person lying on the ground was his nephew, Said.

BREAKING: Israeli forces raided our main office in Al-Bireh today around 5 a.m., confiscating computers, laptops, and files concerning our Palestinian child detainee clients in the Israeli military courts. We were not informed of the reason for the raid.
This is the latest act by Israeli authorities to increasingly push forward a campaign to delegitimize and criminalize Palestinian civil society and human rights organizations like @DCIPalestine.
We carry out our work in a situation of armed conflict where perpetrators of war crimes and crimes
against humanity enjoy systemic impunity and Israeli forces refuse to end serious breaches
of international law or hold perpetrators accountable.

An Israeli drone-fired missile killed 15-year-old Mohammad Saber Ibrahim Suleiman shortly after 6 p.m. while he and his father Saber Ibrahim Mahmoud Suleiman were on their agricultural land outside the city of Jabalia.
In a second incident around 6:05 p.m., a homemade rocket fired by a Palestinian armed group fell short and killed eight Palestinians, including two children. The rocket landed in Saleh Dardouna Street near Al-Omari Mosque in Jabalia, according to evidence collected by DCIP.
