I wholeheartedly agree that people have legitimate reasons to have anonymous accounts, and I believe everyone has the right to protect their identity. However, we also have to acknowledge people use anonymous accounts to attack other people with impunity; that is the problem...
I am tired of watching people I respect get harassed daily just for doing their job. There is a difference between voicing one's opinion and targeted harassment, and Twitter has failed to stop targeted harassment. Period. I understand no one is forced to use Twitter...
And at any time, a person can decide to leave, but it's not fair for a person to be chased off a platform by anonymous accounts that bring nothing of value to online discourse. These accounts are only used to harass other people and they should be dealt with accordingly...
It makes no sense that accounts specifically created to cause others harm don't get suspended after weeks of harassment. Tweeting "I don't like Trump or Boebert is loser," isn't the same as someone repeatedly calling female journalists c*nts and wh*res on their timelines...
I am seriously baffled by the lack of urgency to fix the problem. I understand engagement is essential for a social media platform, but you don't seem to understand legitimate engagement would be much higher if you fixed the problem. I have been told by numerous people...
They would use Twitter more if the toxic trolls were removed. I know people who refuse to use Twitter because of its toxicity. I am not even talking about people having problems with tweeting, but just reading the replies of tweets is turning people off. It's really that bad...
I acknowledge Twitter has done some things to improve discourse. For example, pushing low-quality replies to the bottom and giving people the ability to hide replies, but that isn't enough. You have to do more to protect your users, and I have a few suggestions...
1. People should be allowed to delete replies. However, I know this feature could also be abused, but hiding replies isn't enough. Maybe allow x number of deletes per day based on the number of followers and other account metrics. If people want to say nasty things, they...
...can quote a tweet. So why is deleting tweets critical? No one should be forced to endure harassment on their feed, and allowing the deletion of tweets would prevent swarming and other forms of targeted harassment. This one feature alone could make Twitter a better place...
2. Fix blocking people. When I block someone, they can still reply to others who are responding to my tweets. A block should prevent someone from interacting with me or people replying to my tweets. It's another simple fix that would significantly improve the user experience...
3. Stop stealth replies. Stealth replies are when someone replies to a tweet and then quickly blocks the tweet author before they can see it. If someone blocks a person, then all of their replies should be deleted or completely hidden from everyone while the person is blocked...
4. Add a team dedicated to working with trusted 3rd party researchers. Your team can't see everything that happens on the platform, and by allowing others to provide information about suspicious activity could improve the speed at which problematic accounts are removed.
5. Accounts that spam the same images and/or similar text when replying to others, should be prevented from replying for x number of hours and then days if the behavior continues.

True story: One of the people who have been harassing me for investigating hate accounts, is a middle-aged White woman using a 10-year-old version of Windows. Wait for it... she is also a Trump supporter. Why would this person hate Meghan and Harry so much?
Actually, she could be younger. It's hard to tell because people filled with hate usually age in banana years.
I know some of you thought I was joking; I wasn't. Look at the last screenshot she tweeted; that is not Windows 10.

Also, she thinks I hacked her computer. These people are unhinged.🤦🏾‍♂️ ImageImageImage

When I announced BotSentinel.com would research and release data on the accounts targeting Meghan Markle, I was warned by several people that these accounts would begin relentlessly attacking me. Within hours of making the announcement, the attacks started...
They believe it's their "right" to vilify and attack a Black woman for having the audacity to marry a White prince, and they will go after anyone who dares defend Meghan. It's not just targeted harassment and a sustained smear campaign; it's a modern-day lynch mob...
I have observed toxic attacks in the past, and the most toxic has always been focused on women, but I have never witnessed anything like this. It's not free speech, nor is it just voicing one's opinion; it's hate being weaponized and aimed at a Black woman on several platforms...

This person who tweets about Meghan and Harry all day tweeted 707 times since Monday and 353 times on just Tuesday alone. The account isn't automated; it is controlled by a human being. YIKES! 👀
If this person isn't being paid to do this, they seriously have a problem. Does she have a family? Pet? Job? Hobby? Significant other? Her hatred is consuming her. She barely sleeps; most of her time is tweeting about Meghan and Harry.
I was having a hard time believing the data, so I used another tool. Wow... just wow...

Your own pic? So are you claiming you are this model? Are you sure this is how you want to proceed? Maybe you should take the L, create a new account, and use another pic. Image
I have secondhand embarrassment. On to the next fake account... ImageImage
I will not tweet the model's full name, but there are hundreds of photos of her, and Merry Berri is not her.

Exclusive: We have put together a screenshot archive of 798 inauthentic accounts linked to Project Veritas. We hope the general public and journalists will use the data to learn more about inauthentic activity on Twitter.

Everyone will not understand what they are looking at, so I will explain how Project Veritas spreads disinformation and manipulates trends on Twitter step by step. I will omit some details for obvious reasons, but I feel it’s crucial for people to understand the process...
Step 1: Acquire inactive and newly created Twitter accounts.

Step 2: Use ClickToTweet to create a pre-filled tweet that can then be shared with your followers.

Step 3: Use Telegram to share the ClickToTweet link so your followers can SPAM the pre-filled tweets on Twitter...
