Thank you for contacting my Washington, D.C. office. Keeping in contact with my constituents is very important to me, and I appreciate the

The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights is charged with ensuring equal access to education through the enforcement of civil rights protections in our nation’s schools. It is essential that we have strong

President Biden announced his intent to nominate Catherine Lhamon for the position of Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the Department of Education on May 13th, 2021. On October 20th, 2021, I was proud to vote to confirm Lhamon on the floor

of the Senate. Having previously served as the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the U.S Department of Education in the Obama administration, Lhamon is eminently qualified for this position. Going forward, I am committed to working with her and the entire Department of

Education to ensure that every student in New Mexico has equal access to a quality education.

With the exception of some spacing issues, it is an exact copy. I actually read what you send me Senator. We do not agree on much. Perhaps we can agree on the fact that your staff's cut and paste job here is pretty poor. @benraylujan #nmpol I expect more, especially when you
