team $FB bull case:
Why do some of the $FB stock promoters trashtalk $AAPL ? this story shows why: Apple is a viable threat, and has more teeth as a de factor regulator of facebook than governments have (so far). Facebook's aiding/abetting of human trafficking appears to have stopped bc of Apple.
Question is:

Is Alibaba/Tencent : Facebook/Apple ?

Time will tell.
This $FB human trafficking case reminds me of "Xinjiang forced labor sanctions" (US sanctioned various chinese companies for aiding/abetting 'forced labor' )...

makes me wonder if Facebook will face similar measures. Unlikely, but there was Silk Road:

<--- it's just a matter of time until someone, somewhere notices this human rights violations' "arbitrage".

It won't last.

Just how long can an organized pump and dump campaign last?
I find that - given sufficient time - the P&D perps move on and find a new shiny toy...
we've been looking at a peculiar issuer. Peculiar because it exhibits a odd + rare combination of qualities:

1. the company is in a sector where overt pump & dumps are very rare.

2. The stocks/underlying businesses trade/fundamentals tend to behave in some very specific ways..

We too have been following this space - VR - for a few years now, but barely have talked about it publicly.

Here’s our current + simplified view:

I am eager to see how Apple’s VR will fare vs Facebook/Oculus.

I have an opinion, but we shall see!
It remains to be seen whether a company whose track record and DNA consists of being user centric and user focused - prioritizing the user

Vs a company whose track record and DNA is seeing users as the product and mindless cattle …

Which one fares better
I’ve dealt with oculus customer service . I’ve dealt with Apple customer service.

Lol.

I will leave it at that.

All right I’m doing this for the sake of my buddy @ReganCoda and a few other friends. Counterpoints to the thread 👇:
Let me translate “Myth 1”: the Chinese people went from starving poor 40 years ago, to poor but not starving, today. Depending on who you ask, this is thx to CCP or the Chinese ppl.

Starving ppl tend to worry more about making ends meet than the right to sh1tpost abt Beijing.
Also, when most of your people go from starving poor to poor (but not starving)…people tend to trust the system, give it benefit of doubt, and expect a better tomorrow vs today.

Confidence.

(Unsurprisingly) barely no mention of Hong Kong on fintwit…

despite the fact there’s something of a crisis of confidence in the government at the moment:
Classic fintwit: the importance of something is generally inversely proportional to the # of likes/RTs/engagement.
I’ve done my DD on this. There’s real anger and what’s more impressive and amazing is the unanimity of it.

You have staunchly loyal and proud of mainland folks as WTF about this as anyone.
