It is a label driven trend that artists unfortunately have to adhere to live up to a certain image (Hardly matters to me).
If done in moderation it’s all okay, but right now it’s all about 1 day, these many millions, these many likes, these many numbers blah blah….
Mostly the shittiest of songs have the biggest numbers, it’s like a stock market now….Very rarely do albums like Kabir Singh & Sher Shah come along that have great songs with great numbers.
To be honest even if the biggest artists in the world release a song and don’t promote it at all.
Organically it will cross a million or more in a day….That’s the truth !
Then come the power of fan clubs of amazing artists like @BTS_twt that sincerely stream and view their songs and end up creating incredible records….
In India we have a song that touches 1 billion faster than Justin Bieber & Kid Laroi’s #Stay , which at this point is one of the biggest records in the world but stands at 289M. Do you really think that’s possible without a push or money dominated promotional tactics.
The Label will smartly say it’s the Indian population that’s making it a hit but then why do other songs not get the same level of numbers.
To tell you the truth, today labels are pushing songs of the artists that are signed to them, and are suppressing the songs of artists that aren’t signed to them…
It’s a practice worldwide I guess, but in #India there is another level of dirty work happening through💰
