THREAD: a few people have expressed trepidation about my calls to appoint a special counsel to investigate trump’s plot to overthrow the government because “nothing happened” with Mueller’s probe. I’d like to point a few things out, if I may. 1/

First, Mueller didn’t do “nothing”. He had over 300 criminal charges against over 30 criminals with 9 convictions. Trump pardoned the big dogs. Biden will not. The reason you feel like Mueller did nothing is because Barr wanted you to think Mueller did nothing. 2/

As judge Walton concluded, Barr inappropriately redacted volume 1 to downplay the MASSIVE scope of Russian assistance to the trump campaign. Because of Barr’s “lack of candor”, most of those redactions have been removed, but MSM didn’t report it so you probably didn’t know 3/

Further, Barr took advantage of Mueller’s conclusions and made an incorrect determination on obstruction of justice. But the findings are there, and if they aren’t prosecuted, that’s a failing of Garland, not Mueller. 4/

And don’t forget Rosenstein promised trump he would “land the plane” and curtailed the scope of the investigation. Twice. 5/

Then Barr totally lied about the findings and then sat on the report for three weeks before releasing it while he and trump went on a spin tour convincing Americans there was “nothing” in the report. Not to mention the multiple attempts to fire Mueller, chilling his work. 6/

So with regards to a special counsel for the coup, we no longer have trump giving pardons or threatening to fire the special counsel, we no longer have Rosenstein limiting the scope, and we no longer have Barr to hiding the findings. 7/

And if you don’t trust Garland, Monaco, and Biden to support a special counsel and allow them to do a full probe, then why do you trust the DoJ to do the investigation itself? We must #AppointSpecialCounsel END
