In my eleven years as an MP, I must say this budget is the one which sticks out in my memory as being so extensively briefed to the media.

From all of the reports, three things are clear:
1. The leaked plans show that the Tories are out of touch and have the wrong priorities. They're cutting tax for big industries whilst whacking working people with a cut to Universal Credit #CancelTheCut
2. These policies come at the wrong time - when people are really feeling the pinch. Rising prices of energy, food, and petrol are set to make this one of the hardest winters.
3. @UKLabour have a clear plan. We'd abolish VAT on energy bills for 6months to help people through a torrid winter - something we can afford to do as the VAT receipts have been higher than expected

Despite my issues with the wider budget, I have to say I welcome the levelling up fund award for Bolton College of Medical Science

Whilst we didn't get the full £40m we need it provides a springboard to grow and develop

See attached my letter regarding the bid from June
This site will add approximately £150m to the local economy and provide up to 25,000 jobs for local people

This offer also builds into a wider strategy for developing and growing our borough
If Bolton is to flourish then we must tap into our local advantages and develop the borough as one

It's not enough to be a satellite town of Manchester - Bolton should be one of the best places to study, work and live

I stand willing to work with the Council to do just that

Great to visit Bolton Interchange today and see first hand the new buses that will be sweeping Greater Manchester soon

Delighted that under @AndyBurnhamGM's stewardship GM is finally getting an integrated transport system in the form of the #BeeNetwork
It was great to chat to staff from @OfficialTfGM on the ground (Michael, Donna, and Jade) about the ambitious plans

They're working to deliver an integrated bus and tram transport system by 2024 and to include trains by 2030, feeding into a wider net zero goal by 2038
For more information take a read of this, here is an information piece from today's event I snapped (photography is not my forte so apologies!)

This clearly outlines Greater Manchester's plan to create an affordable alternative and address the age old idea that "car is king."
