So! I've been out of commission because the internet at my house died but now it's fixed! So today I will be going back through the #NCGA map drawing recordings.
Doesn't look like any recordings are available for Monday on the channel 😒 so I will start on Tuesday's
Looks like Sen. Hise spent a LOT of time on Senate Station 4 on Tuesday
I also cannot find a recording of House Station 1 for Tuesday - which looks to have been used from the overall feed and happens to be Rep. Hall's station of choice if I recall corrrectly.
He's working on a Congressional map file - CST-9 - looks to be a version of CBK-3 to me.
It looks like someone worked on a House map at House Station 4 - interestingly they seem to have colleges and universities marked.
Makes some adjustments to the line in Onslow County
Closeup on adjustments to the 3 way Guilford split
Split in Davidson ends up looking quite different.
Funny how none of these changes seem to have anything to do with the testimony they heard about the maps on Monday.
Next changes to Iredell
IMHO bothering to make changes means that CBK-3 is the favored map.
Adjustments in Mecklenburg
Wake
The updated map (CBK-3 / CST-9)
Hise came back to the map Tuesday afternoon. Again, more small adjustments to Wake that don't show up well in screenshots.
To me this going in and out of the committee room with printouts and continually fine-tuning the districts is extremely shady.
And... then Iredell gets changed back to pretty much how it originally was.
This is all I saw from chairs in the Senate on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Sen. Newton came in to work on Station 4 on the Senate map.
Changes made to that northernmost Meck district - Sen. Marcus' address is shown
Changes to Buncombe
At some point Sen. Daniel takes over from Newton - Caldwell is next
Cabarrus
Focusing on Kernersville - small change to a Guilford district
Making changes to Randolph - looks like he's trying to keep Asheboro whole
Durham / Chapel Hill
Some changes to Wake
Hise comes back later and exports the Senate map. SCH-3
He exports this Congressional as well - CCH-7
Hise comes back and tinkers with Davidson again and then exports the map as CCH-8

also this is the only email given for WCPL Directors so I'll throw that in too: libraryadministration@wakegov.com
Here's the email I just sent to @wcplonline Library Commission and Directors - feel free to borrow any of the language if it helps you write an email too!
Looks like the #NCGA House Redistricting Committee meeting is about to get started, finally.
Rep. Hall says they are waiting on a number of amendments - another 10 minutes. Seems like there must have been a lot of intra-party negotiation in the past 3.5 hours.
Here in the #NCGA Senate Redistricting Committee meeting - senators are debating the proposed Republican Congressional map - Sen. Willey Nickel is showing something on a posterboard but I can't see it from here. #ncpol
Nickel says that we're a 50/50 state but the map gives 10-11 safe Republican seats out of 14.
Nickel cites the infamous 10-3 statement by Lewis. Says that the chairs don't need to say anything like that because the map speaks for itself.
Another day of map drawing in the #NCGA! about 25 minutes ago someone got on House Station 2 - looking at snapshots (basically the images that they make to print out.)
This is from map HBV-10
Here's another print they got
A while after that someone came in to Station 4 to work on that same House grouping on (Moore, Chatham, Lee, Richmond) that @ForwardCarolina discussed in this thread yesterday - and that person might be Reives himself? Hard to tell from the stream.
