In case you haven’t heard: TODAY IS ELECTION DAY and 271 RFS candidates are on the ballot across 38 states!
This year’s candidates truly are the best of us. They include college students, doctors, UX engineers, and first generation leaders. When we dig deep our candidates break down like this:
55% are POC, 53% are women, 26% are a part of our LGBTQIA+ fam, and 2% are nonbinary.
Even more stats:
61% identify as coming from low income backgrounds, 34% are caretakers of children under the age 18, 23% of them are children of immigrants, 15% have disclosed a disability, 6% of them are immigrants themselves, and 5% of them are veterans
We’re so proud to have had the opportunity to work with each of these candidates—make sure you check back with us ALL NIGHT as we post the results of today’s elections live!

@micheleforfl Another win out of Florida! @MarcoGiron has won his race for Miami-Dade County Community Council! With this win Marco becomes one of 28 openly LGBTQIA+ elected officials in the state!!
What Just Happened: In a truly heinous 5-4 decision, the SCOTUS just upheld the use of partisan gerrymandering.
Why This Matters: This ruling gives GOP representatives the ability to create district maps that give them the upper hand in federal, state, and local races.
Which means, if you’re a progressive voter in a state controlled by Republican legislators, you’re screwed.
How We Fight Back: The courts aren’t going to protect us, so we have to protect ourselves. Now’s the time to recruit, support, and elect state legislators that will stand up to partisan gerrymandering and create fair maps that represent ALL Voters.
