NDP aren’t the traditionally moderate socialists anymore. They’re left libertarian. Anarcho-syncalist.
What does that mean?
Glad you’re wondering. Their beliefs will be familiar and explain the similarities between NDP and CPC.
The first principle is anarchism. Removal of any central authority. Anarcho-syndicalists (AS) believe in power distributed among the people. Not in political representatives.
This belief includes a preference for direct democracy. Everyone’s voice is equally valid.
Equally valid includes issues which require knowledge, experience & expertise. For eg. covid measures; direct democracy advocates believe restrictions should be decided by everyone, not experts or govt. Because a physician’s opinion is no more valid than a mechanic or waiter.
That’s what direct democracy represents to anarchist libertarians. On both sides of the political spectrum. Anarcho-capitalists (AC) are clearly currently more vocal. But there were agitators at hospitals from both left and right. Many missed that detail.
Direct democracy has two identified methods. Both AS and AC have adopted discursive democracy.
This is why NDP and Cindy Blackstock continue to demand LPC stop suing CHRT and Blackstock. They are relying on the public’s opinion as more valid than the courts.
So much for the rule of law. AS & AC prefer if the public decides what is legal instead of the courts.
Remember when CPC used Tori Stafford’s murder to demand PMJT override the law and direct Corrections Canada to move McClintic from medium security back to max? Same concept.
Why bother following the rule of law, just do what the majority “feels” is the appropriate action. It was the same with Huawei and Meng. Ignore the law and trade Meng for the two Michaels. That is the promotion of direct democracy from both AS & AC.
It’s related to worker’s self-management.
Self management can be used within a capitalist system. This is what unions are promoting on both ends of the political spectrum. Self management. Sounds a lot like self determination, because it is ultimately the same concept.
Cooperative federalism is when people buy into a company or group of companies. Dividends go to members, not workers (like MEC). Cooperative individualism favours workers with dividends. Both can be self-managed. These ideas have been floating around NDP and CPC for years.
When you examine these ideals it becomes obvious that NDP has changed its ideology in favour of libertarian beliefs and values. Much of Singh’s and Angus’s rhetoric reinforces this ideology.
The escalation of bold & direct demands for immediate action from disabled, seniors, low income, BIPOC & LGBTQ communities become comprehensible.
Cancel culture mobbing, heightened level of values judgement, constant debasement of FPTP & representative democracy are explained.
NDP has radicalized its base to adopt anarchism, direct democracy and abandon the rule of law. Those who have become radicalized justify mobbing behaviour, destruction of public property and burning down churches because their values are offended & justice is decided by the mob.
The same concepts are being used on the far right. Anarchism, direct democracy and abandonment of rule of law. Wexit, referendums to decide policy, Senate elections, demonstrations in the street intimidating HCW and patients, entering schools to stop vaccine clinics.
Entire congregations of far right evangelical Christians have rejected the secular legal system in favour of a literal interpretation of the bible.
Radicalized far right are refusing masks, vaccines and rejecting consequences for their choices.
All in the name of liberty.
It seems the whole world has gone mad.
That’s almost the truth. Something and some group of people are manipulating the radicalized.
Like Al Qaida & ISIS radicalized and manipulated peaceful Muslims over social media, the descriptions of overnight transformations are honest.
Pretty much everyone has a relative, friend or acquaintance that has adopted radically extreme beliefs and values in the past 5 years.
People aren’t developing mental illness at alarming rates. Social Media is being used to micro target those with emotional vulnerabilities.
There are plenty of resources that explain what is happening, who is behind the manipulation of vulnerable people and how they are doing it.
But the public hasn’t taken the time to consume the information.
If you want to fight this from continuing, put the effort in.
That means reading reports like this one. While this report is targeted at an American audience, the same tactics are being used here in Canada to radicalize and promote extremism. To create chaos. To destroy social cohesion & democracy.
While the specifics of political issues are different, the tactics remain the same.
People are taking ivermectin. Before they were taking vitamin D, relying on “natural immunity” or bleach.
If one or two people were doing this, you might be able to explain it away.
You might have been able to convince yourself that rural populations are so unsophisticated that they’ll believe anything.
One, that’s extremely wrong and two it’s a nasty stereotype.
But this is upwards of 70% of federal rural ridings in BC, AB, SK, MB, ON and QC.
Do you know how many people that is? Probably about 30% of the adult population, if not more in Canada. Urban centres are targeted at radicalizing the progressive left. Labour, low income, BIPOC people with no real power.
Well they sure feel empowered now.
Both sides of the political spectrum are being radicalized and indoctrinated with toxic libertarian beliefs.
Why?
Simple.
Look across the globe. Climate change is here. We are within 5-7 years before it’s irreversible. We must act now. Or all life will perish.
Humans, animals, plants, insects. Everything except maybe the common cockroach will be extinct if we don’t get our shit together very soon.
But we can’t even have a conversation with each other anymore. Polarization is beyond anything we’ve seen before except right before WW2.
There seems to be a death wish among many cult like Dominionist Christian Nationalists in several nations across the globe. Most of these people fall on the far right. But some are on the far left.
What connects them is toxic libertarian ideology.
I found something interesting the other day. It blew my mind away since it was about 50 years old and described what’s occurring now with great accuracy.
@Garossino They aren’t voting against their own interests. They believe they are voting in their interests. It’s not economic stability that’s the issue, it’s maintaining a strongman white supremacy based hierarchy.
@Garossino Many people don’t understand (nor have the base knowledge to understand) cause and effect. The factors contributing to stagnant wages, recessions and climate change are complex and difficult for anyone to understand.
@Garossino People who vote for UCP and CPC aren’t looking to improve their position in life. They’re looking for a clear target to blame and a govt that will punish those who are blamed. There doesn’t ever need to be resolution. They just need a scapegoat & to feel superior.
Is the media complicit in white washing once again the genocide on indigenous people?
Did conservatives wait the required number of news cycles for this issue to fade from top of mind to them demand the flag be raised?
How long is an appropriate time frame for grieving genocide?
I imagine it is uncomfortable for some who venerate JAM and the founding of Canada to keep this truth at the forefront of people’s consciousness. So discomforting they want to move along.
We wouldn’t want to ruin his life like the person who was assaulted had his life shattered. Wealthy parents protect their investment when they should have been parenting and instilling ethics, values and the understanding that rape and assault are wrong and criminal.
Why bother to teach your children appropriate behaviour when you have the means to ensure infractions are a slap on the wrist and anonymity on the basis of confidentiality.
Remember, Harper loaded the judiciary when he was in power.
Harper’s appointment of up to 75% of lower court judges has consequences. Canada doesn’t have a Federalist Society training lawyers to interpret and promote far right ideology. At least not openly.
Some people are clearly incapable of thinking about anyone but themselves.
It’s fascist to mandate safety? It’s appropriate to wish ill upon a child activist?
It’s an extreme example, but this is the far right mindset.
These types are just the loudest examples.
I often wonder if people who say this kind of stuff out loud have the capacity to understand the level of repugnance they generate in the rest of society. I don’t think they do. Honestly, who could be this disgusting and self aware?
It’s absurd how lacking in self awareness these people are. Imagine gaining joy from using swastikas to smear reputations or wishing a child dead because she’s an effective communicator.
This is pure egotistical hedonism. Depravity, turpitude, vulgarity.
You can easily observe that law enforcement is already on this trajectory.
-Violating human rights during arrests
-racial bias towards arrests and public interactions
-an increase in radicalization of officers
-surveillance of private citizens
-protecting property not people
@MgS_2011 is warning us. Alberta is moving into full blown fascism.
Law enforcement loyal to the government & imbued with police state authority is a classic fascist characteristic.
There are times when PMJT is amazing. He certainly is in his element when answering questions in a crowd. Especially when people are asking honest questions and not loaded questions that act like land mines. I admire his skills to relate to others. It’s inspiring.
But I’m not sure if those who watched this caught the bombshell he announced during this Q&A session.
I imagine it will come to the forefront in a matter of days at COP26. But the writing is on the wall for the Canadian O&G industry.
PMJT announced that the ceiling of fossil fuel expansion has been reached. There will be no more expansion of the fossil fuel industry. From this point forward, O&G is in decline. Sunsetting the industry is now the goal and replacing it with green energy options.
