Roberts asking whether there is any place where guns can be restricted? Like places where they serve alcohol.

Clement is saying it's a case by case basis: says school and government buildings.... in bars "the government would have a tough case."

Kagan asks if you can restrict arms on the subway.

Clement can't say. "On behalf of my individual clients, I guess I could give away the subway, because they don't live in Manhattan."

Now Barrett is jumping in. Clement is having real trouble here, b/c these justices are basically asking Clement if there's ANY END to his gun logic, and since there's not he can't really answer.

Alito jumps in now to save him.

The issue here is if NEW YORK gets to decide where you can have your gun... or does Paul Clement?
Breyer: "I think people of good moral character who drink a lot and go to a football game can get pretty angry at each other... and [if they conceal carry] people end up dead."

Breyer: "what can we say that's going to be clear enough that we don't produce a gun related chaos?"

Clement: "Phoenix or Houston or Chicago don't have the problems with their [conceal carry] regime."

Kagan doesn't let the Chicago thing slide. Pointing out that people are constantly acting like Chicago is the most violent place.

Clement, like, realizing he's getting off the conservative script, says they don't think that about San Diego.

I wanted Kagan to keep going but Roberts cut her off. :(
