We're back. Judge Bruce Schroeder is calling for the jury to re-enter.
Rittenhouse's mother and sister are back in the gallery.
The jurors are at the ready with their notebooks. Many are opening them again and finding the correct page where the left off. One juror came prepared with a clipboard.
Binger brings up a still photo that shows the plastic bag Rosenbaum was carrying the night of the shooting.
We're now seeing video taken by the FBI the night of August 25, 2020.
Person of Interest 1 = Joseph Rosenbaum
Person of Interest 2 = Kyle Rittenhouse
Howard identifies that Kyle Rittenhouse is sitting in the courtroom. The prosecution turns the witness over to the defense. Richards stands to begin questioning.
Richards clarifies that before the unrest in Kenosha in August 2020, there were three Car Source locations in the area. At present, there is only one Car Source location open in Kenosha.
Howard agrees that it was not a "standard" murder investigation. He says investigators didn't recover shell casings from the shooting until four days later.
Howard says he planned to send Rittenhouse's phone to the FBI in order to crack into it. He also confirms that Richards and Rittenhouse reached out to him, saying investigators could take Rittenhouse's phone with their permission.
Richards: Search warrant in one hand, cell phone of Mr. Grosskreutz, presumably in Mr. Grosskreutz's hands, but for some reason that search warrant was never served.
Howard: Correct.

Howard confirms he has video from Grosskreutz's cell phone, but does not have a download of it.
Howard says that he did not download information from Grosskreutz's phone because of concerns over Marcy's Law. Howard testifies that he, other investigators and attorneys had concerns over the victim's right law.
Richards confirms that attorney was Assistant DA Thomas Binger.
Richards: Just so the record is clear, no one has interviewed "Jump Kick Man"?
Howard: Correct.
Richards: He has never been identified?
Howard: Correct.
To clarify, the so-called "Jump Kick Man" is the man who kicked Kyle Rittenhouse in the face on the night of August 25, 2020. Mark Richards introduced the nickname "Jump Kick Man" during yesterday's opening statements.
Richards: In your extensive review of the videos, there were numerous times that Mr. Rosenbaum was armed, correct?
Howard: I can recall him with a chain.
In the direct, Howard testified that he shut off gas pumps the night of the unrest to prevent fires. Richards now confirms with Howard that it was not widely known that these pumps were turned off that night, insinuating it would make sense for ppl to try to "protect" them.
(On the first response the night of August 25, 2020)
Howard: We had to prioritize to go to certain calls.
Richards: Nobody went to Car Source 1, that was wiped out, with fire trucks?
Howard: Correct, we were not responding to just property damage.
Howard confirms he and another were made lead detectives the night of the shooting. In addition, they were made aware that a person had turned himself in to the Antioch Police Department in Illinois. Howard says he arrived at 3:30 a.m. approx.
Richards: When you're being kicked in the head, you don't know what's going to happen. Fair?
Howard: Fair.
Richards: When someone puts their bare hand on your firearm, you don't know whether they're going to use it.
Howard: You don't know.
Richards: If a weapon is taken from someone, it can be used against them as a deadly and dangerous weapon, correct?
Howard: Correct.
We're now seeing another video from The Rundown Live, taken on August 25, 2020.
Defense attorneys looking for a specific part of the video to show. It seems Rittenhouse himself is explaining what part of the video something specific is shown.
During the video, Richards has pointed out (and Howard confirms the identity of) Joshua Ziminski and Kyle Rittenhouse.
Richards points out in another video that Rittenhouse yells, "friendly, friendly, friendly." He also confirms that Rosenbaum is chasing Rittenhouse in the video.

Richards: The weapon does not dissuade [Rosenbaum]?
Howard: He stops briefly, and then continues to run again.
Howard: I'd say there's more than 50 people there, but it may be less than that that are causing property damage, because some were just standing around.
Richards: Because there weren't enough cars for people to beat on.
DA Binger objects to this.
We're again looking at that infrared video taken by the FBI on August 25, 2020.
Here's a look at Rittenhouse's mother and sister sitting in the courtroom gallery.
DA Binger objects as Richards refers to this scene as a "classic ambush." Judge Schroeder sustains it. (The video shows when Rosenbaum approaches Rittenhouse)
Richards confirms with Howard that at approximately the same time, Rittenhouse is yelling, "Friendly, friendly, friendly!"
Howard: It appears that, at the Car Source, people are coming toward Mr. Rosenbaum. And yes, there are people yelling at Mr. Rittenhouse.
Richards: From the time Mr. Rosenbaum chases him, and the time he attempts to turn himself into police, we're talking about less than four minutes, yes?
Howard: Yes.
There is tension and a few objections, back and forth between the defense and prosecution. The prosecution argues it is hearsay.
Before defense questioning of Detective Howard continues, Judge Bruce Schroeder calls for a break for the day.
The jury is dismissed for the day.
Rittenhouse whispers with Richards as the jury exits.
The judge and both sides are now discussing the prior objection by DA Thomas Binger.
The judge asks that court transcripts be read to sort out what happened with the objection. Here's what happened:
Richards: Grosskreutz says, "What are you doing? Did you just shoot that guy?"
Binger: Objection. This question calls for the defendant's statement.
Things are somewhat muddled here, and the Judge decides that this issue will be taken up tomorrow morning.
DA Binger moves that the state strikes Juror 7 for cause. This is after the Judge told both sides that Juror 7 made a joke to a deputy after court yesterday.
Judge Bruce Schroeder rules that the Juror 7 issue will be picked up tomorrow morning.
With that, Rittenhouse exits the courtroom with a notebook and Smart Water bottle in hand.
The case of Wisconsin v. Kyle Rittenhouse has concluded for the day. Make sure to follow @LawCrimeNetwork for all the latest updates on the case and for a livestream of the trial.

We're back from lunch in Wisconsin v. Kyle Rittenhouse. We're back to a discussion about Anthony Huber and his "peacefulness" characteristic. Image
The state says it will bring up a specific instance in Huber's past where he displayed "peacefulness." Kraus says this leads to the state's point that Huber was acting to "protect" others on the night of August 25, 2020.
Judge Schroeder is now reading the State of Wisconsin text to determine what is/is not acceptable for the prosecution to include evidence that the "victim was a characteristically peaceful person." Image

Richards: Are you lying under oath today?
Balch: No, they just never asked those questions.
R: Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the FBI talks to you, they don't write out a statement for you, let you review it for accuracy and completeness, do they?
B: No. Image

@LawCrimeNetwork McGinniss: I became extremely worried that, because I was behind Rosenbaum, I was going to be caught in whatever was going to happen.
Binger: Did you feel like you would be caught in the line of fire?
