I started a VR startup around the beginning of the first hype cycle. It’s crazy to watch another VR hype cycle start when there really isn’t a lot of new technology in the space since the last hype cycle.

The reality is most people bought a headset, used it once and it’s sitting in the closet.

Now, granted I have seen some great use cases.
VR is great as a pop-up/location based experience that business can charge for.
And it’s a great TV prop when shows want to make kids seem futuristic. Lol

It’s quite funny to see the VR prophets coming out of hiding and beginning to make the same claims they did before. But the truth is the people and the market have already spoken.
