CW Transmisogyny, hate speech, abuse

It’s come to my attention that a TERF I knew from the detrans rad fem community, Kitty Robinson, was one of the sources of Caroline Lowbridge’s transmisogynistic BBC article. Kitty posted about her involvement on her social media. Tweet by Kitty @Exacerbati reads I seriously could cry from Tweets be Kitty @Exacerbati read 1/ The outpouring of supporTumblr post by Kittyit reads i feel honestly shellshocked s
Kitty’s been in touch with Glinner, who wrote about trying to get a UK journalist to cover Kitty’s story but failed to because she’s American. Still, it’s possible that Glinner may have been the one who connected her to Lowbridge, who then used Kitty for “background research”. Article by Graham Linehan titled 43 43 additional women reveQuote from Graham Linehan's articles reads Now, they’re tr
Kitty has published an anthology of stories from AFAB people who were abused or assaulted by trans women and is using these stories as transmisogynistic propaganda. She solicited these stories using her blog on Tumblr. YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE DIFFERENT our stories of the harms donewe are not alone and we will not be silenced. if you don’t
Kitty herself has been in abusive relationships with trans women. Speaking out about this abuse is not the issue here but how she frames such abuse as “male violence” and proof that trans women as a group are exceptionally dangerous.
Janice Raymond cites Kitty’s anthology extensively in her new anti-trans book Doublethink. She also cites the same “research study” produced by anti-trans hate group Get the L Out that was used for Lowbridge’s BBC piece. The testimonies that follow make palpable the findings of thFrom the online testimonies of violence against lesbians, KiThe Lesbians at Ground Zero report by Angela Wild has been i
Both Raymond and Lowbridge draw from the same biased sources to argue that trans women are "dangerous predators" threatening cis lesbians. Making the same arguments as the most infamous TERF is not a good look for the BBC.
I was not surprised to find out that Kitty was involved in writing of that article. She’s a trans eliminationist
whose views, words and actions have grown more extreme over time. She uses her own and other people’s trauma as an excuse to hurt others.
Further, she and others in her community downplay the harm of abuse and violence committed by AFAB people, arguing that it’s not the same as “male violence”. This ends up enabling abusers in that community and makes it harder to hold them accountable.
The BBC article and Kitty’s anthology are not about actually helping survivors, they’re about generating hatred towards trans women and justifying discrimination and violence towards them. Acting like one group is more dangerous than others has never stopped abuse or violence.
What we really need are more resources for survivors of abuse and assault in queer/trans/LGBT spaces and communities. No one, cis or trans, is helped by having their trauma exploited as propaganda to advance a hate movement. Survivors deserve far better than this.

#TransHate One of the reasons I could see this happening is that more established anti-trans activists/grifters could see her as competition, a newcomer encroaching on their turf. They wouldn't object to her hatred, they'll see her as a potential rival to take out.
Transphobes are also obsessed with purity and in their eyes certain qualities and experiences taint a person forever. Doing sex work is definitely one of those things. Other TERFs will use this to set themselves above Cade. They like putting others down, including other TERFs.
Not all TERFs will react this way. Some GCs on Ovarit are already hailing her as a hero. But based on what I've seen in the past, I'm guessing the Gendermapper and her friends won't be a fan, because of Cade's past doing porn and naming Buck as a "good trans person".

Prediction: Most US trans eliminationists aren't gonna claim Cade as one of their own because they're very, very anti-porn. They'll use her work in porn to distance themselves from her. They might even atttack her for her work because they blame porn for "making kids trans".
I've already watched trans eliminationists viciously attack Buck Angel for his work. They claim he's "grooming" kids and pushing them to transition by making porn and sex toys. The fact that Cade named him as an ally is going to work against her among many anti-trans activists.
I would not be surprised at all if a bunch of anti-trans activists dogpiled Cade and claimed she was part of the problem because she works as a porn star. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they claimed she was actually a psy-op! They do love spinning conspiracy theories.

I want to say, as someone who spent years using my story as a detrans woman to promote anti-trans views and practices, that trans people are not being unreasonable by being concerned, upset or angry about how detransition is often framed by the media.
Transphobic detrans people go to the media to promote anti-trans theories, conversion practices, urge people to limit access to medical transition or discourage people from transitioning. I know this because I did this myself. Trans people aren't making this up or overreacting.
Believe trans people when we say something is harmful to us. The issue has never been about silencing people who detransition but about recognizing how some detransition stories can be used against trans people and how some detrans people are transphobic.

I know many transphobic detrans women from my old scene will dismiss trans people's concern's about the @60Minutes piece, act like we're overreacting, being too sensitive, etc. They will see the segment as being too "trans-friendly" if you can believe it.
I spent years as a transphobic detrans woman, hanging out with other detrans women with anti-trans views. I know firsthand how many transphobic detrans people hide their true views of trans people, misgender trans people in private and dismiss trans people’s views and concerns.
Transphobic detrans people refuse to acknowledge how they can hurt trans people or what kind of weight their stories carry in a transphobic society. They tend to believe that trans people already have too much power, "institutional capture" and all that bullshit.

Ideological detransition/"alternative treatments for gender dysphoria" is basically an alternative health scam directed at trans & questioning people. Like other alt health scams, it preys on people's negative experiences w/ the healthcare system, in this case trans healthcare.
A lot of people have horrible, sometimes traumatic experiences with more mainstream healthcare and then turn to alternatives looking for better treatment. Problem is a lot of those alternatives are grifts or culty as all hell or don't have good research to back them up.
A lot of detrans people have had traumatic experiences with transition or the psychiatric system or other forms of healthcare and are looking for something more helpful. Unfortunately, the ideological detrans scene is full of transphobic theories and conversion practices.
