It feels like this week ended as bad as it started.
Between Madu changing legislation to allow illegal donations, Alberta making international news (again)…and Devin Dreeshen, it’s been a REALLY bad week for the UCP!
2. Treaty 6 Chief formally responds to Alberta’s Provincial Police report, saying Madu completed ZERO consultations with First Nations! Madu lied to Albertans!🤥
3. More allegations of sexual harassment by Kenney’s lawyer pal and Devin’s booze pal Ivan Bernardo!
4 Without ANY consultation, the UCP is selling off gov-owned affordable housing units to “for-profits” corporations - claiming it’s not “privatization” 🙄
5. 😂 In a giant ad to support the UCP’s new “advanced” curriculum. UCP MLA Savage can’t spell “cirricilum”
10. After hiding the data, the UCP finally admitted their inaction on covid caused 15,000 canceled surgeries!
11. The UCP reneged on a promise to charge OHV drivers in Kananaskis a small user fee to help restore & create new OHV trails & hire enforcement officers
14. The leader of the Bloc Quebecois mocked Kenney’s “equalization referendum” suggesting Canada should totally reopen the constitution and renegotiate the equalization formula to a “green formula”.
The more green a province, the more they get back. 🤦🏻♂️
15. In response to the NDP leading donations, the UCP quietly snuck in new legislation to allow hundreds of thousands of 💰 from big donors to SNEAK into UCP coffers through nomination contests, and multiple, illegal donations to UCP constituency associations!
16. In a scathing essay, Donna Glans, a former PC MLA, described how the UCP infiltrated public boards with crony appointments and created a “ top-down, authoritarian culture” that it turned the workplace to “toxic” workplace…
17. In an attempt to troll Albertans’ concerned with his drinking and bullying, UCP MLA Dreeshen posted a photo of him propping a laptop on a beer cooler and coasters with booze in the background
18. Dreeshen reigned from Cabinet (not as an MLA) 3-days later.
So good news? I’ll repeat this one: the @Grindstoneyeg is putting together a HILARIOUS show called “Jason Kenney’s Hot Boy Summer”, featuring the incredible @Stephwolfe101!
I fully encourage those to go Nov 10-21 (Nov 10 is sold out!)
Yesterday, Alberta saw 2 of the most undemocratic, anti-Canadian bills in our history.
Bill 3 and 5 mark a new low.
Rock Bottom.
Let’s go through these gross abominations and see if you agree
#Abpoli
#Ableg.
Bill 3: Opioid Damages & Health Care Costs Recover
Vulnerable Albertan will be mandated to forced labour (to UCP employers) to “recover” costs of mandatory treatments
Marshall Smith, Danielle’s drug “expert” was BUSTED for a similar illegal operation when he was in BC
#Ableg
Bill 5: Public Sector Employer Amendment
Under the guise of a “single public payer”, this all but sets up an Alberta Revenue Agency, which collects federal taxes to circumvent the Canada Revenue Agency.
This is part of Danielle’s secretive “Free Alberta Strategy”
@rebeccakschulz continues to hide from Albertans as her husband is paid by O&G to convince Rebecca to change 5 laws environmental laws and protected areas
Let’s explore Alberta’s Conflict of Interest act, simplified for Rebecca
Rebecca - take notes📝
#Ableg
1. Are MLA’s allowed to personally benefit from legislative decisions?
- NOPE! 🚫
The Act says Members MUST NOT participate in decisions that MAY benefit themselves, their partners, their associates, or their children.
Rebecca CAN NOT touch ANYTHING Cole is lobbying
#Ableg
2. What if a decision POTENTIALLY involves a private interest?
If a decision POTENTIALLY involves a private interest (such as Rebecca’s husband lobbying to make legislative changes) the MLA MUST:
✅ Declare it
✅ Abstain from voting or participating in the decision
