Some high level takeaways from defensive driving course I attended earlier today.

Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are days in which hijackings are on the rise.

Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays are days when orders are placed.

Remain vigilant always!

Remain vigilant, always

Don’t pull in and park in front of your gate.

Have emergency response numbers such as armed response on speed dial.

In case you’re followed, head to a police station, petrol station or a public space that’s well lit.

Once entered the house, don’t drive up straight to the garage, rather enter, let the gate close before you move up to the garage.

At shopping entrances, don’t park near entrances of the parking lots.

Wait for someone inside the center not your car.

At petrol stations, always be observant, remain alert & stop playing on your phones!

Don’t get out of your vehicle at the petrol station if not necessary.

Some suggested rules should you find yourself in a hijacking situation:

- Remain Calm
- Don’t make sudden gestures
- Avoid eye contact
- Comply with hijackers instructions
- leave those handbags in the car!
- Move away from the car & get children out
