NFTs! The craze! Pt 1

So what's an NFT? I mean, I just got one from doing a twitter task and I'm seeing under my comment....sent. I also joined a discord community but what the heck are these!?

Oh well, it's a craze and when you even hear Jpegs are being sold for millions of
dollars....wait ...what???

Yeah! a tweet, I mean the CEO of twitter @jack sold his first ever tweet for $2.9 million! Then there's a rush in your blood πŸ˜‚

In Nigeria, we'd exclaim ...Omo! Because e choke!

And I told my mom I helped her win two NFT and she doesn't even know
how to pronounce the three letter words well... she's like NTF or what? πŸ˜‚

So you might be wondering...

NFT are non fungible token. I know right...this definition is so vague.

Alright, it means something unique and that can't be replaced with something else.
For example, Bitcoin #BTC is fungible- trade one Bitcoin for another Bitcoin.

A one-of-a-kind trading card or ticket however is non fungible.

If you trade a different ticket or card, you'll have something completely different. Just like your mom's food, you can't trade it...
say for another food to have same taste. The taste will forever be different.

So, How Does NFT work?

For context, NFTs are built under a Blockchain ecosystem called Ethereum. Or should I say Mama Ethereum was used to birth NFTs.

Some other cryptocurrency do have NFT built
on their Blockchain technology like #Polygon and #Solana .

NFT is all about fine art collection tho in a digital way. Tho not all NFTs are Art but Art was the pioneering tool it shot with.

Art collection is a thing and will keep being a thing that's why NFT will stay forever.
You may be wondering...why NFTs?

NFTs allows buyers to support artist but it also give buyers a couple things in return.

Buyers may not get to hang these digital pieces on their wall or some may get to do that but they also might get bragging right for purchasing it.
So someone actually paid $6.6 million dollars for a video one of the now greatest artist of our time @beeple did.

I Know right...you also downloaded it from the internet πŸ˜‚, I too...but wait...this is where it gets interesting...

You can copy a digital file as many times as you
want even an art that's an NFT. Still Follow me..

What makes it unique is Ownership. NFTs are designed to give something uniqueness and the strength that it can't be counterfeited or copied. So even if you downloaded it on IG, it's not still yours 🌚🌚 till you own it.
Though the artist can still retain copy right and reproduction rights just like a physical work.

In simpler words, you can have a picture of Mona Lisa painting in your phone πŸ™‚πŸ™‚, but the actual/original picture is presumably worth $862million as of 2020.
Also, one of the greatest sales of our time in the NFT market was made by Beeple where he combined his 5000 jpegs of artwork he's been creating for 13 good years into one simple jpeg.

This particular JPEG sold for $69.3 million.

Something hooge! πŸ˜‚ Extremely hooge! Image
Here's the video of how the moment was.

It changed his life forever πŸ™Œ and yes digital art is here to stay!
Whoever got that jpeg can appreciate it as a physical object if he wants.

With the digital art, a copy is literally as good as the original.

But the flex??!!, The bragging right of owning an original Beeple or even @BoredApeYC is a goal! And that's the content NFT be serving.
Actually..... before you go further....ttt...there is also p... penguins πŸ˜‚, I mean pudgy penguins... it's crazy! Yeah but it's exciting.
Or wait have you heard of @cryptopunks ....pixels being sold for millions of dollars, you'll think they're ugly πŸ˜‚ but bro! The money's been madeπŸ˜‚πŸ™Œ.

Even Jay Z got his own punk. Lol, I don't know but NFT is a crazy and exciting Industry. ImageImageImage
This is an example of what a @BoredApeYC looks like.

And everyone wants to be part of them gengπŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί Image
Even @HAPEBEASTGANG .

I in particular love these ones. The uniqueness and beauty in themπŸ₯Ίβ€οΈ. I want one rn Image
And then @BillionaireNfts !

An amazing community of young minds and working together to bring financial freedom to everyone.

Some of the collection below.

I myself love these NFT in particular. ❀️
I've got some in my wallet too😊 ImageImageImage
People have actually embraced the art of community around a brand, business, even anything. Everyone wants to belong. Everyone wants to feel owned.

The NFT space has adopted it knowing fully well how great the impact carries. Virtually all NFT have their own community and people
want to belong

Belonging to a community especially a happening Community like @BoredApeYC , @BillionaireNfts , @ASurrealSociety , @genopets , @Nifty_Island makes one feel special and important. Oh, of course, bragging rights 😎😎.

For some, it might be vibing, sharing memes,
adding value to each other, connecting, or building things together.

It just all boils down to why the community or NFT came into existence.

Every NFT is unique, although some artist can create hundred of numbered copies of same artwork as an NFT.

Are NFT mainstream?...
At least to some extent, they've shown capabilities.

Lol, can you buy this thread as an NFT? Well, for now, No but anything can be sold as an NFT even articles written by @BBCAfrica or @cnbcafrica only that you have to have large chunks of dollars to purchase them articles πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‚.
So, the summary of the whole thread is..

NFT signifies Digital Ownership which carries it's uniqueness as it's value.

Anything can be NFTs.

On Wednesdays, we talk about Community.

So let's gist.

A short thread 🀠🧡
If you must build a string community, you must be willing to grow.

You must be intentional about your growth. You can't build a community, I mean a strong Comm-Unity if you can't grow and if you hate growth.
You must also be patient. Patience is important in the journey. It's a Journey you're embarking on with others. If you're not patient enough, you will give up early.

Community takes time. It's a long term game. Don't rush it.

Service.

Lately, I've been meditating on some goals, I mean future goals and how I can achieve them and I found out one of the best route to follow is thru Service.

Service has also helped me at this stage of my life. I really don't want to do much but serve.
I believe so much in service and I've started taking action.

There's alot service can do for you especially if you are just starting or in your growth journey.

Oh...one more secret tip ...
One of the fastest ways to get to the 1% of the 1% mind, eyes or heart is thru Service.

Find a way to give them a valuable service (s) and you'll see favour in your side.

Don't use this negatively. Do it genuinely.

Web 3.0 part 2.

You know, everyone is talking about Web 3.0 on twitter or anywhere and you probably might not even have gotten a hang of it.

I kid you not, no matter how technical the name is sounding, it's actually something you can understand.

A thread 🧡.
Before a 3.0, there was 1.0 and 2.0.

So let's do a run down from 1.0.

The first stage of the web started in mid 90's and that's what we know today as 1.0.

They were the first stage of the world wide web (www) and they were static pages.

I mean like just static. No convo
Users passively consume contents. They couldn't yunno give feedback, or create contents.

1.0 was just one big Wikipedia of hyperlinks.

What we know today as the dotcom era.

Actually, 1.0 fundamentally changed the world. It opened internet. Opened internet potentials.
