You know, everyone is talking about Web 3.0 on twitter or anywhere and you probably might not even have gotten a hang of it.
I kid you not, no matter how technical the name is sounding, it's actually something you can understand.
A thread π§΅.
Before a 3.0, there was 1.0 and 2.0.
So let's do a run down from 1.0.
The first stage of the web started in mid 90's and that's what we know today as 1.0.
They were the first stage of the world wide web (www) and they were static pages.
I mean like just static. No convo
Users passively consume contents. They couldn't yunno give feedback, or create contents.
1.0 was just one big Wikipedia of hyperlinks.
What we know today as the dotcom era.
Actually, 1.0 fundamentally changed the world. It opened internet. Opened internet potentials.
It opened the ground for EVOLUTION. We can call this ...freedom of information. In computer studies it would be called Read-only. Web 1.0=Read-only
We should thank 1.0 for opening the door for us.
Let's move to the next stage.
Web 2.0.
In 1997, the seed was planted by a company called sixdegrees which enables users users to upload pictures, then FB followed, then myspace then other giants began following suit.
Web 2.0 changed users to creators. New tech started changing the way we see the internet
Content of things and content of people.
From 2004 till now is what we call Web 2.0
Not only did we get information from pages like google and all, they got information from us ie our data, privacy and every other thing they could get from us even without our permission
When you open FB, Instagram, twitter etc, your feed is filled with the data you gave them knowingly or unknowingly.
Well, sad part is, these companies have invaded our privacies, targeted ads at us. Of course you don't pay money to register in these companies and use their
Products because YOU are actually the product. They make money off of us.
Anyways, let's move.
Web 2.0 has revolutionalized the way we see things. We can call this... Read-write
Users can create, consume and give feedback. It really has liberated millions of people.
2.0= freedom of expression.
Well, now you've known a tiny bitty history of what web 1.0 and 2.0 are...
Let's dive into what brought you here.
3.0 Future of things. Internet of things. Evolution of 2.0 Just like scientists say we went from apes to humansπ(fascinating still!)
Web 3.0 is really a beautiful one because you can never get enough of it. It's a welcoming environment.
It's internet powered by Blockchain.
I would describe it as...
It's web for the people, by the people, of the people....(I just love how I defined it here)
In this web, you are the owner of your content.
Just like you own things offline...your books, your phone etc...
In this web, you own digital stuffs and you can control your content, you also get paid for owning your content.
Here, it's called.... Digital Freedom
Reliable, Scalable, Fast, Consistent.
Tomorrow, everything will be on the internet.
We will even reach the part of the internet where all companies will have to used a decentralized system called DAO.
Web 3.0 just began. Watch the space.
I'm bullish on the Future π
I'll be breaking down all I'm learning and have learnt about web 3.0 and Blockchain in general.
Follow me for more Contents on these specified topics. Basically I share my knowledge on them also would love to connect and build great relationships from twitter.
Lately, I've been meditating on some goals, I mean future goals and how I can achieve them and I found out one of the best route to follow is thru Service.
Service has also helped me at this stage of my life. I really don't want to do much but serve.
I believe so much in service and I've started taking action.
There's alot service can do for you especially if you are just starting or in your growth journey.
Oh...one more secret tip ...
One of the fastest ways to get to the 1% of the 1% mind, eyes or heart is thru Service.
Find a way to give them a valuable service (s) and you'll see favour in your side.
