[A thread] Morrison is gearing up for an election based on "freedom". His rhetoric the last few days has been around giving Australians choices (he actually used this justify his #EV backflip). #auspol 1/9
Morrison is subtly, and not so subtly, painting Labor as anti-freedom and dictatorial. He is being backed of course by Murdoch. He cannot fight an election on fiscal rectitude as he has blown out a trillion dollar debt and tripled the deficit. #auspol 2/9
He is using the Victorian lockdowns and other Labor states border closures (WA and QLD) as political weapons - using them as evidence of Labor's willingness to curtail personal freedoms and choice. #auspol 3/9 dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
Morrison is a liar of course, and a hypocrite. While painting Labor as anti-freedom he is simultaneously pushing for the #cashlessdebitcard so he can directly control how and where many Australians spend their money. #auspol 4/9
Morrison has also glossed over the fact that he, not the states, prohibited most Australians form leaving their own country during the pandemic. If that doesn't curtail personal freedom of movement I don't know what does. #auspol 5/9
Labor on the other hand wants to invest in lower cost quality childcare to give women and Australian families in general more freedom to be able to work and provide for themselves. #auspol 6/9
Labor is heavily promoting its credentials in education. Education of course is the great leveler - it gives people the power & freedom to be the best they can be. Morrison on the other hand seeks to reduce their opportunities by putting education out of reach. #auspol 7/9
Morrison will also be pushing his #ReligiousFreedom Bill - an odious piece of legislation that gives religious institutions the right to discriminate on faith and sexuality. Those who oppose it will be painted as anti-freedom. He is sick. #auspol 8/9
I ask every Australian, every voter to be on the alert from this rubbish from Morrison and his Murdoch cronies. He wants to make the election about "freedom" because he can't win it on trust or fiscal rectitude - the usual go-tos for @liberalaus. Call him out. #auspol 9/9
