#SupremeCourt is hearing its suo motu plea regarding filling of vacancies and improvement of infrastructure in the National and State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions

SC: What is the status of reports? time deadlines are not being adhered to and this throws hearing out of gear. We are not disciplining ourselves

Sr Adv Gopal Sankarnarayanan (Amicus): we have not received status reports from few states yet

Amicus: Bihar has not filed any status report yet

Counsel for Bihar: We have filed it, it was to be sent through Google File

SC: It was to be filed within one week of last order

Amicus: Bihar has no information on building space but they have some information on staff

Counsel: we have already filed a response

Counsel: i am instructed that it is submitted by UP, give us another day

SC: What is the purpose of having an amicus if he does not get reports.

SC ORDER: The counsel assures us that the deficiencies would be addressed within a week. we remind the defaulting states that we will take stern action if reports are not submitted and a Rs 2 lakh cost will be imposed on them. This will be recoverable from officers #NCDRCSCDRC
