WHO WANTS TO SEND US TROOPS TO UKRAINE TO DEFEND AGAINST, WHAT HE CLAIMS, IS AN IMMINENT RUSSIAN INVASION OF THE UKRAINE.

I really would like to question this Congressman because when one makes an accusation, the burden of proof is on the accuser, and frankly, his assumptions are not proof.

They are, rather, a view of the world as if everything is still couched in the framework of the Cold War between the West and the old USSR.

Some years ago, Russia held military exercises, which they do periodically, just as does the USA and others, and they did so with notice to the UN and their neighbors, and it was done in the same areas that it has every 3 or so years since 1990.

But, rhe European media at the time claimed that Russia was starting an invasion of Ukraine and the Baltic States. Of course, there was no invasion.

This was nothing more than fear mongering hysteria, picked up by all the old cold carriers in the USA, and then in a short while it was forgotten.

Then Russia was accused (as this Congressman on the Carlson show did again) of invading and stealing the Crimea from Ukraine, a charge that ignores the fact that the population of Crimea voted more than 80% to rejoin Russia...

as per 3 treaties signed between Russian and Ukraine between 1991 and 2008 which game the Crimea the right to leave Ukraine and rejoin Russia. So not only was it legal, but to claim this was an invasion is slander.

And this year, again, the Russian military has informed the World bodies of its military exercises, in the same areas in which it has conducted such exercises in the past, & here we have a US Congressman, again, yelling about how he knows Russia will invade its neighbors.

China is out there doing a massive expansion of its military, taking over the Western Pacific, threatening Japan, Taiwan, and even Australia, two years after infecting the world with a plague and destroying the West’s economies,...

but here we see a US Congressman, yelling about a Russia of only 140 million people that cannot feed itself from its economy smaller than that of Italy, a Russia.

Just my opinion, but it seems to me that all this Russian threat talk is being pushed by Europe, principally Germany, as a tool to keep the USA spending half its military budget subsidizing Europe and to continue the lopsided trade deals that give Europe an advantage.

And is Germany really so scared of Russia? If they were, they would not make themselves dependent on Russian energy supplies.

I am not a big fan of Russia or Putin. But I am a fan of recognizing that Russia is no longer the giant boogyman of the world, and I’m tired of the lies, the hysteria, and the drain on the US taxpayer, that the Cold War enthusiasts can’t seem to get past."
