1/ THREAD: Rittenhouse, more than almost anyone you'll ever see, constantly partially suppresses a smile and/or laughter. Smiling out of context (during his trial for double murder) is a profound red flag.

2/ This behavior (know as Duping Delight) arises because the person displaying the suppressed smile/laughter believes that they're fooling their audience (even an audience of one). Of course, they may not be fooling anyone — but their belief that they're doing so gives them joy.

3/ It's important to emphasize that their is no moral value assigned to their joy (i.e., What gives a nun joy or a child joy is very different than what gives a sociopath joy.
