Twitter Analytics 101

Double your followers count in a matter of days, not months.

The only thread you'll ever need to read to:

• improve your content
• grow your audience
• master Twitter Analytics

Here's everything you need to know 🧵👇
0. Set the foundations

Why do you need to master Analytics?

• to find and test your content market fit
• to find what's working and double down on that
• to increase your conversion rate and grow your audience
I've been using a personal adaptation of the "Pirates Metrics Funnel", you can learn more about it here:

1. Map your Reader's Journey

To grow, you first must take the reader of your content through the following journey:

Read -> Clicks on your Profile -> Enjoys your Profile -> Clicks Follow -> Interacts with your content -> Retweets/Quote Tweets/Mentions -> DMs you
2. Impressions

User reads content = Impressions = Top of the Funnel

You need to get people to read your content.

Goal: increase your Impressions.

How?

• Tweet consistently
• Create valuable content for free

Content creation frameworks here 👇
3. Profile Clicks

Profile Clicks = Acquisition Rate = Acquisition

You need people to land your Profile and find it interesting to start following you.

Goal: increase Profile Clicks.

How?

• Write 1-2 threads/week consistently
• Interact with other people's content daily
4. User reviews your Profile

Enjoys your Timeline, Bio, and Banner (overall Profile) = Activation

Goal: give people a high-quality Profile to go through.

How?

• have a good picture
• write a good bio
• Pin your best performing tweet

This way 👇
5. User Follows you

Clicks Follow = Conversion Rate

Now that your Reader clicked to follow you, make sure he starts to engage with you and your content.

How?

• build tight feedback loops
• do things that don't scale

See this 👇
6. User interacts with you

Interacts with you/your content = Retention

Your new follower starts to interact with your content.
Comments or likes some stuff you publish.

Goal: build a genuine relationship.

How?

• be kind and generous
• reply every comment he/she makes
7. RTs, QTs & Mentions

Retweets/Quote Tweets/Mentions you = Referral

Your follower starts to RT/QT or Mention you.

Goal: strengthen the relationship.

How?

• reply to every QT and Mention
• be genuine, humble, and kind

You have success because of them, not the opposite.
8. DMs you

DMs you/ask for zoom call = Revenue

If your follower DMs you, make sure to do something about it.

Goal: strengthen the relationship.

How?

• explore topics you both like
• be authentic, humble, genuine, kind
• answer every DM, even if it is to say you can't help
9. On how to improve your quality

Interactions with your content = Engagement per Impression = Content quality metric

Look for high EPI% tweets, the highest the better.

Double down on creating more content on that same topic.
That's the beginning of finding your niche.
10. Most common problems

⬆️ Impressions ⬇️ Conversion Rate

⚠️ Profile isn't attractive to convert
✅ increase quality, refine Bio, be consistent

⬆️ EPI but ⬇️ Profile Clicks

⚠️ CTA isn't clear
✅ be clearer

⬆️ Conversion Rate ⬇️ Interaction

⚠️ poor engagement
✅ engage more
11. Best tools in class: Twitter Analytics

The official platform of Twitter itself.

Make sure to download the CSV data file and work it on Excel to calculate your Conversion Rates per Tweet and Day.

This will give you better insights.

12. Best tools in class: Ilo

Ilo.so is pretty good but a bit expensive.

They have an improved design but not more insights than Twitter Analytics.
Every insight you can get from Ilo is given to you on Twitter Analytics too

ilo.so
13. Best tools in class: Typefully

Excellent tool to write Twitter threads and get insights about your Thread performance.

Gives you good charts design just like Ilo.

typefully.app
14. Best tools in class: Hypefurry

This is my favorite tool.
Better than Typefully to write threads and as many Analytics insights as Ilo.

Top feature: Hypefurry helps you ReTweet your past best-performing tweets.

Welcome to my Public Challenge 🔥

45 days - 45 threads 🥳

Also, our newsletter is finally out 😍

What do these 2 things have in common? 🤔

Keep reading. This is why you should care 👇🧵
1. Why a public challenge

I've set the goal to reach 50k followers by the 31st of December 2021.

The best way to get new followers is to ship high-quality content.

The fastest way to do it is to ship it daily.
2. The content I'll be publishing

Over the next 45 days I'll publish a daily thread covering the following:

• how to become a content creator
• how can creators leverage Web 3.0

Some examples:
• how to get content ideas or host Spaces
• how to create your 1st NFT project

In 2 months, I:

• got 1.2M impressions
• went from 54 to ~1,500 followers

Here are 9 tweets on how I've 30x my audience 🧵👇
1. Decide to commit.

On the 1st of Sept., I've decided to commit to Twitter.

Still, I've only committed consistently by the 13th of Sept.

I had 54 followers by then. Almost 20 followers 2 weeks before that.

2. Tweet often and make experiments

Started to write threads using different writing styles.

Experiments are huge.

I've used storytelling, bullet-point lists and settled my year-end goals.

Balancing our full-time job and content creation is hard.

Still, in ~7weeks I tweeted for 35 days straight:
~1.380 tweets
27 tweets/day avg.
6 "original"
21 by engaging

And got:
~700k impressions
~3.700 profile clicks

Here are 12 strategies on how to do it 🧵👇
1/ Plan your week in advance

Every Sunday I plan my week before I focus on creating content.

This will give you clarity about what matters for each day of the week and allow you to block time to take care of your content accordingly.
2/ Define your Thread day

Having a well-defined day to publish your thread makes a huge difference when it comes to being consistent in the long term.

A lot of work goes before publishing, that way you'll be able to focus on every small task to ship the thread you want. Image

Growing on Twitter is hard.

Even though I was able to 10x my Audience in ~6 weeks 🔥

Since the past 13th Sept. I went from 54 to ~580 followers 🤯

Here are my results, and 10 tactics to help you grow 👇
0. Before digging into what I've done, let's set the foundations:

• Bring value
• Tweet 3-5 times a day
• Engage with people (Comment, Reply, DM them)
• Optimize your Profile
1. What the heck "Bring value" means?

To me, you can bring value if you:

• Curate the best creators on a specific topic
• Bring your own insights about a specific topic

In my case?

I share successful stories, my perspectives on how to grow on Twitter, and my learnings.
