Brainfertilizer's/Gitabushi's 2nd Law:
Everyone is Progressive/Socialist about their Biggest Financial Worry.
I started developing this one when I saw several college-graduate "conservatives" arguing that the GOP should back student loan forgiveness.
It deepened and strengthened when I saw "conservatives" talk somewhat happily about how they were going to spend their stimulus check.
It seemed even more correct when I recalled conservative boomers saying "Fuck you young people, pay my Social Security, *I* was *promised*."
...ignoring the fact that young people were *also* promised.
A conservative in an expensive blue city complaining that the GOP repealing SALT exemptions was raising his taxes also contributed to my conviction this observation was correct.
Sure, it isn't *everyone*.
Just like not everyone is Conservative about the topic they know best (which is Robert Conquest's 2nd Law, which mine is a corollary of, which is why it is also MY 2nd Law).
It's a proverb. It doesn't have to be 100% true. It just has to be true enough.
It happens often enough to be a decent law, tho.

People *do* respond to incentives. Money is one of the strongest incentives there is.
Sure, there's the argument for the stimulus and social security that "I paid into it, and the Leftists are going to take it, so why shouldn't I get some of my money back????"

Why not, indeed?
Full disclosure: I spent the stimulus money I received, and I'm not writing a check to the govt giving it back.
But principle *does* matter.
We should take the check and then get pissed that the GOP contributed to this lose-lose option we face. We should be even more pissed that Democrats pushed it and will push it again.
Sure, accept the money, but get ANGRY about it.
Get ANGRY enough that we can block it from ever happening again.
Make sure politicians know it was a mistake that should never be repeated.

Talking happily about how you're going to spend the money doesn't send that message.
"Rich" is pretty much universally understood to be "about twice as much money as I have right now".

So no one is ever rich.
Democrats don't get this.
Or maybe they do:
They promise to "tax the rich", knowing that the rich don't see themselves that way, and so it's two wolves and a sheep voting to eat mutton for dinner.
We need to cowboy up and recognize that ANY money from the govt is Progessivism, Socialism, and furthers the Democrat agenda.
We have to fight like hell against future payouts of any kind.
This law is INTENDED to shame conservatives who accept govt money without guilt.
We have to keep it mind.
We have to hold to our principles.
We have to work harder to live within our means so that we don't have problems that we can use a $1200 check to get out from under.
We have to clean our own house so we don't HAVE financial worries that can be exploited to buy our integrity fail.

Brainfertilizer's/Gitabushi's 4th Law:
Every insult/dis that leaves a mark on Leftists will become THE go-to insult for the Left to use within 6 months.

This one is too wordy, and kinda too stupid to be a law, but the applications of it matter enough to still explain.
At one point, someone responded to some stupid Leftist proposal saying "That won't work, because Math".
It became popular.
Then a few months later, Democrats/Leftists would criticize a tax cut or respond to some conservative criticism with "because math".
It took a few months before Democrats took up calling conservatives "snowflakes" and asking us if were "triggered" or telling us to "cry more".

I support Jews.
Anti-Semitism is wrong because it is racist, but it is also a special kind of racism because of its specificity, the history of the world, and the pervasiveness of it.
I don't know many Jews. I haven't lived in many places I could encounter many Jews.
I didn't care that much one way or the other for most of my life.
The Holocaust was history, and we'll make sure it never happens again, right?

Right?
But I started noticing what Israel was dealing with in the run up to the Liberation of Iraq in 2003.

Brainfertilizer's/Gitabushi's 3rd Law:
Tough Love is the only *TRUE* compassion

This one is kind of self-explanatory.
But I'll explain it anyway.
Any assistance is a crutch.
Any assistance makes it easier for people to stay in a bad situation.
Democrats talk about Compassion a lot. It is ALWAYS using your money in *their* name to buy votes.
There is NO END to the number of problems they can solve with just a little bit more of your money.

Brainfertilizer's/Gitabushi's 1st Law:
Happy People Don't Vote Democrat

I'm determined to get this one established as an Axiom that even television talking heads use.

It just makes so much sense.
The history of it started with reading someone's snark that Democrats sure do love poor people, that's why their policies make so many more of them.
Trying to make that snark more pithy, I thought about it a little bit more. I think about that time, I saw multiple references to Cloward-Piven strategy, where Progressives would try to flood welfare systems to make them collapse.
And then use the collapse to argue for Socialism.

I have a bunch of new followers, so I'm going to start a series of (hopefully) shorter threads detailing some of the views/stances/paradigms that I think I've pioneered...or if not pioneered, helped expand and advance.
I will then come back and link them all under this tweet.
My attempt to introduce a new definition/view of the Left vs the Right:
I used to go by Brainfertilizer, and have a web presence with that "Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame".
Then I joined the Bushis and become Gitabushi. You can find some writings at pcbush.wordpress.com

Chock full of goodness. The only problem is it ends too soon.

@AndToddsaid One side note I think worth mentioning. And it *is* a side note, not even tangentially related to the point he's making.
He says, "Not only do I not love it, I don’t even hate it".

This is a subtle point, at least to me.
It took years and several explanations before my wife was able to get me to understand that when she says, "I hate you" in an argument, it just means "I love you" through the lens of anger.
It's still love, in a way. It's still as *close* and *intimate* as love.
