"We have sought to lead through COVID by trial and error, often faced with only bad choices ... we have made mistakes in the process. And as Premier, I must take responsibility for that," Kenney said.
Kenney said he knows some members are "angry with me at our government for having introduced public health restrictions at various times. I get it."
Kenney said there was a time when Alberta was days away from bringing in triage protocols. "I said at the time, I don't care what the political consequences are I cannot and do not let that happen. We cannot and will not let that happen." Standing applause. #UCPAGM
Kenney now going through a highlight reel of initiatives, talking about reducing red tape, petrochemical investments, and economic recovery. "Alberta now is leading Canada and economic growth by a country mile."
Kenney talking about the U.S. President cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline now, with a 'boo' coming from the crowd. "President Biden, we have a message for you. If you don't have enough oil, we Albertans are happy to help out." #ableg
Noting some recent investments in hydrogen, Kenney says he believes that "between now and 2030, Alberta will established itself as the center of a multi-trillion dollar future hydrogen economy."
Kenney said the party stopped the NDP's school curriculum with their own. "We are now presenting Albertans with a thoughtful and balanced curriculum to prepare young people with the skills ... and a balanced view of Canadian identity and history of civic literacy." #abed#yyc
Kenney says party spent $3 billion more in the healthcare system to cope with COVID and another billion in baseline support. Says he believes by the next election surgical wait times will be brought down to "clinically acceptable standards."
