We talk about red flags a lot which is important and valid, but also I am tired and yearning for some positivity, so what are some automatic green flags for you, like you see something small that someone does or is and just KNOW they are A Good Egg?
For example: Everytime I'm on Grab or Foodpanda or whatever and I see a restaurant that has special listings where you can buy food not to be delivered, but for the rider, I automatically think: These are good people.
Or the time I saw this dude open his window at a red light when there was this old man selling keropok on the street and just bought all of it. Every single one.
Also every time someone listens, really listens, attentively, without their phone in hand and without interrupting to offer advice or selit their point of view. Just listens.
Anyway people are nuanced, complicated creatures, and very few are ALL good or ALL bad, but I like seeing these glimpses of light we all have. It's nice to see what we're capable of.
Muting this because my notifications are getting out of control, but I have loved seeing all your green flags. I know there are people who look at these and think "bare minimum" but I think who you are comes through in the small things. Bare minimum adds up to a lot.
Also some people sneer and call me corny, and that's okay too 😂

I refresh my kids on this book every couple of weeks, including making sure they know their body’s early warning signs and can tell me who’s in their safety network both at home and at school. “Who’s the boss of your body?” “ME!”
1.5 hours post-shot: I started out with regular soreness at the injection site, but now there’s a numb/lenguh feeling that’s spreading down my arm, even feeling it slightly in my fingers. My husband has the same numbness. We know from our reading that this is normal!
I’m also very sleepy but that’s not the shot, that’s just me sleeping less than 4 hours last night 😂
I can’t be the only one feeling helpless. Malaysians, for those who will be feeling the brunt of the next two weeks, what are some things we can do? Places we can donate to, community initiatives we can signal boost? I want to DO something.
Remember #pulangmengundi. If they won’t take care of us, I want to be part if initiatives that WILL.
