Personal takeaways after three weeks of learning about DAOs in the #IOTA DAO Pioneers learning circle based on @daoist321's materials 🧵:
- A #DAO does not have to be open to everyone, it's a way of focusing and optimizing resources towards a goal, not democracy
2/n
- The team requires the maturity to be able to disagree and commit: It's not about what the 'ego' wants, but what the 'eco'-system needs and agreed on
- Decisions should be taken by domain experts and small team of experts, not everyone involved in the DAO
3/n
- evaluating contributions is hard: data driven to @sourcecred or human assessments through @coordinape are two paths towards the same goal: fair distribution of financial resources of the DAO
4/n
- there are challenges to constatly motivate people to contribute to a #DAO, the more skin in the game the better
5/n
- token voting is one way of doing it, 1 person 1 vote is another way of doing it; 1 person + X amount of tokens for a higher commitment to the #DAO's decisionmaking process
6/n
- smart people are getting together with the interest to revolutionize how society works and for the public good; Join a #DAO, avoid creating a new one with the same objective; crypto-tribalism has nothing to do with DAOs, crypto is merely a tool for more important goals7
7/n
- Crypto: be your own bank
- #DAO: be your own governent; including healthcare, unemployment insurance, etc..
8/n
- voting theories are a science for itself, (BTW great talk at @AragonProject by @pietrosperoni) and you might want to apply different voting systems depending on the nature of the proposal
9/n
Again, these are some personal takeaways
Thanks a lot to @PhyloIota for his inspiration and work towards bringing DAOs within the #IOTA ecosystem
Ufficiale dalla IF: Chronicle - blog.iota.org/introducing-ch…
- Chronicle mantiene tutto il Tangle ed è possibile vendere il servizio di nodo permanente a terzi.
- AION permette di salvare le transazioni interessate in maniera selettiva
(entrambe le soluzioni sono in fase alpha)
