To Quentin Letts and others who think that the desperate human beings crossing the Channel are coming here for benefits, a reminder.

Asylum seekers in the UK receive on average just £5.66 - a day.
For those who think "they all want to come here because we are a soft touch" - a reminder.

The UK - disgracefully - is home to just 1% of the estimated 26.4 million refugees, forcibly displaced by war and other events across the globe.
And finally for those who think France takes fewer refugees than us and that they all pass through there to come here.... you're wrong. France takes considerably more than we do as does Germany

Lee Anderson Tory MP for Ashfield Nottinghamshire wants to send asylum seekers to The Falklands
