5 Strategic ways to Think like a Geniuses.

- thread -
Genius is not about having an extraordinarily high IQ,

or even about being smart.

It is not about mastering fourteen languages at the age of 7.
Geniuses think productively, not reproductively.

They ask "How many different ways can I look at it?"
📝 Making your thoughts visible

Galileo Galilei revolutionized Science

By making his idea visible with diagrams, maps, and drawings.
Geniuses seem to develop a skill to display information

In visual and spatial forms,

Rather than only mathematical or verbal lines.
You don't need to be a pure artist to turn your thoughts into visualization.

Steve Jobs wasn't a true drawing expert.

But, he always believed in the idea to create his thoughts into some visualization.
📝 Thinking metaphorically

Aristotle believed that the person

who could see resemblances between two separate areas of existence

and link them was a genius.
Einstein used the analogies of everyday occurrences

To explain abstract principles.
📝 Genius produces

One characteristic that stands out in geniuses is immense productivity.
Thomas Edison held 1903 patents.

Bach wrote a cantata every week, regardless of sickness.

Mozart produced over 600 pieces of music.
📝 Forming unique combinations

Geniuses form more novel combinations than talented people.

They continually: combine and recombine

• ideas,
• images, and
• thoughts

into different combinations.
📝 Problem solving

Leonardo da Vinci believed,

We begin by learning how to restructure the problem

by looking at it from many different angles.
Instead of relying on past experiences.

Geniuses use several perspectives

to solve a problem and also identify new ones.
TL;DR

• Making your thoughts visible
• Think Metaphorically
• Genius Produces
• Forming unique combinations
• Problem Solving

Time is only short if you waste it

Contrary to the popular perception of life is short,

Seneca's view is that we have enough time to accomplish our goals and live an extraordinary life,

as long as we treat time as our most precious resource.

If you don't want your life to be "messed up,"

don't fool around with those who have messed up theirs.

[1/5]
It is a peculiarity of human relationships that it is virtually impossible for one individual

to have a lasting positive influence upon members of a group of negative thinkers.

[2/5]
Usually, it works the other way.

You cannot maintain a positive, productive attitude if you spend all your time with negative people.
