iPhone...

You're using it wrong.

8 Things you still don't know your iPhone can do: 🧵
Group texts wear me out...

That said, I doubt they're going away anytime soon.

So how can we navigate them better?

Use mentions:

•Type a reply
•Type a contact's name
•Tap the name when it appears.

You can also insert the @ symbol before the contact's name to notify them.
Drink in one hand, phone in the other?

It's time to activate one-handed typing.

•Touch and hold the emoji key
•Select the right or left keyboard
•Voila!-The keys are now shifted closer to your hand (or thumb) of choice.
Ever feel like someone is following you?

She is, and her name is Siri.

If you want to see what Apple deems as "significant locations" you visit often, (and turn them off) here's how:

•Go to settings
•Privacy
•Location services
•System services
•Significant locations
Mistakes happen.

There's an easy way to undo something you've typed, pasted, or deleted.

Simply shake your phone and you'll get a popup asking if you'd like to undo the previous action.

To toggle on or off head to:

•Settings
•Accessibility
•Touch
•Shake to undo
Did you know you can register multiple faces with Face ID?

I didn't, & I wasn't sure why you would want to.

Then it hit me. Masks

We're all wearing them, & having your phone recognize you sure would be nice.

•Settings
•Face ID & Passcode
•Set Up an Alternative Appearance
I can't tell you how many scanner apps I've downloaded over the years.

Thinking back, they all have one thing in common: They suck.

Little did I know, there's a PDF scanner in the Notes app that actually works!

•Launch Notes
•Start a new note
•Tap 📷
•Tap scan documents
Ok, ok, I get it.

You want me to rate your app.

You know what I want?

I want the notifications asking me to rate your app to go away.

If you find these annoying as well, here's how to disable them:

•Settings
•App store
•Turn off In-App Ratings & Reviews
Give your phone a pat on the back.

By enabling the "back tap" function, a double or triple-tap on the back of your phone triggers an action of your choosing.

Take a screenshot, turn on your flashlight, activate Siri, and more.

•Settings
•Accessibility
•Touch
•Back Tap

You only live once.

Essential elements of a life well-lived:
Seek truth over validation:

It is far more damning to persist in ignorance than to admit when you're wrong.

Time spent searching for truth – as opposed to validation of currently held beliefs – is never wasted.

True wisdom is the product of allowing your mind to be changed.
Value knowledge over possessions:

Striving for the accumulation of "things" is futile.

Possesions get lost, thrown away, deteriorate, & lose importance.

Far more meaning is derived through the acquisition of knowledge & experiences.

Cherish that which creates memories.

Time can teach you many things a classroom can't.

10 things I'd tell myself 20 years ago if I could: 🧵
Learn to sell yourself.

There's a fine line between arrogance & confidence.

That said, don't be afraid to let people know what you bring to the table.

If you're not willing to sell yourself, don't expect anyone else to be willing to buy.
Say "I don't know."

When you're young, admitting you don't understand something feels like failure.

As you age you realize this couldn't be further from the truth.

You'll earn more respect admitting where your knowledge lacks, than pretending to understand things you don't.
