Hi All - the last @ArizonaIRC public hearings about to start in Maryvale and Tucson. I will be looking to see if the liars and cheats associated w/ @SALCLeaders will double down and be out in force - or do they step back after having their lies exposed?

In Maryvale, how many speakers will note if they are "paid" or not - after @ErikaNeuberg's tone deaf statement yesterday?
As an aside - busses may have been used in some communities to attend hearings because hearings were held in unaccessible locations -

off of public transportation routes. I wonder if that constitutes "being paid".

Marana resident - I was envied because I lived in a competitive district. Map 10.0 does not do that. Rep Leach will not even meet with me

LD 17 proposed - but to address getting feedback from partisan actors -- has to be held to higher scrutiny -- because they are looking to protect their own interest - LD 17 interstate's was too partisan an effort

Ron De Souza - recent UA grad - 0051 and 0056 - map has many advantages -- indigenous communities should be kept together as much as possible; votes should not be diluted. also 0063 - and Tucson have its own district

Tucson unified schools district - LD 17 is clearly gerrymandered -- as a parent of four - I tell my children when you make a mistake - own it and start again -- that is my advice to you - when we have competitive districts we talk to each other.

Beth H -- questions - when you were drawing the maps dis you crate maps for each criteria and then overlay them? if not what was your process. Take a look to see what happens - Did you use a mathematical analysis to assess criteria?

Answer - we are live and work throughout the area -- we should have competitive districts - diversity = representation

Paul SS - LD 17 creates specific challenges - goes to integrity of the commission itself as well as the integrity of the district itself.

So the disgraced Commissioner Mehl is not going to resign. Thanks everyone for participating and says he looks forward to Monday morning and drawing "real" maps.

Do not stop tracking the work of @ArizonaIRC - they must make this right and remedy the process that created these deeply flawed districts and undermined the integrity of the commission and called the decency and honor of at three commissioners into question.

One last thing -- @BallardSpahrLLP and @SWLawNews the shenanigans of @SALCLeaders and @RealPimaGOP re: LD 17 and Map 10.0 have been known for weeks. The fact that this train continued forward to today is testament to a colossal professional failure and I woudl call it

If they are not able to instruct and guide the commission from crossing this solid line - what do they do? what are they there for?? Seriously -- their complicit observation will become a case study of failed redistricting efforts for decades to come..
