What's tragic is that this is the bit leading up to GL's first statement. They've duped people like this into thinking losing their actual friends is a *good* thing that should make them happy, and barely a year later Graham is saying that that "friendship" is temporary. 3/

I have seen umpteen posts and threads from gender critical people talking about falling out with family and friends and how it's okay because their new online friends are "better."

This is cult-like thinking.

It's simply not true.

It's conditional allyship, at best. 4/

I think Arty - sitting "beside" Graham - was the originator of the "welcome to the better friends part of your life" statement, and yet, under a year later, he's talking about how he's getting such abuse from people in the anti-trans movement it's affecting his mental health. 5/

I know of one particular gender critical woman who hasn't spoken to her daughter in two years over her beliefs.

You can never get that time back.

I know some gender critical people follow me. For the love of all that is good, make-up with your *actual* friends, today. Now. 6/

You're not going to "win."

What does that even mean?

Send a million tweets, go to a thousand meetings, tell everyone how much you love JK Rowling a hundred times etc. etc.

Trans people aren't going anywhere.

They'll still be there long after you stop. 7/

And what you'll be left with is memories of an online gang who weren't your friends, people who might not even want to be associated with you in the future.

How do you know that is true?

Because Graham Linehan is literally telling you that's true. 8/
