I often mention the December 18, 2020 meeting where Sidney Powell, Michael Flynn, & Patrick Byrne (the Overstock dot com guy) swept into the White House uninvited & ambled into Trump’s office, then tried to convince him to have the military “re-run” the election.
And so on and so forth. There are also accounts from the “let’s NOT have a dictatorship” side of the meeting, which cast the argument in a different light.
But ultimately, the details of who said what are only of interest to historians.
What matters to all of us is this:
These anti-democracy activists, committed conspiracy theorists all, walked into the White House and sat down with the President.
For hours, they tried to sell him on overturning the election at the barrel of a gun.
We’re INCREDIBLY fortunate he didn’t go along w/it — and I don’t know why he refused. My guess is he thought the military wouldn’t do it.
Or maybe his narcissism worked in everyone’s favor for once: the emotional rewards of watching the real lawyers and these fascistic assholes fight for his attention were short-term & very real, ans therefore WAY more important than, you know, making a decision or following up.
Either way, the December 18th meeting is a pivotal moment in American history, but very few people know about it.
That’s why I wave my arms and shout about it so frequently.

“The pdf that’s floating around” is, of course, the coup PowerPoint.
.pps is an ooooold PowerPoint format, and someone we consulted last night suggested that it may not have been saved that way for compatibility on an archaeo-machine — some *printers* need old formats, too.
But it’s pretty unusual to encounter that format in 2021, which could be a clue to whose hands the PowerPoint passed through.
*However*, the pdf version of this file was MUCH more widely distributed than the PowerPoint. (Big ups to @z3dster for also finding the pps, by the way.)
The pdf was out in the wild on January 12, 2021, when it was released on at least the Telegram channels for:
* Lin Wood, an attorney who was heavily involved in trying to overturn the election, and
ASOG and Phil Waldron are names you know if you’ve followed @get_innocuous.
If you haven’t: ASOG is a firm that makes its living telling failed Republican candidates — many who lost in primaries, some that lost in general elections — that they lost bc of fraud.
Anyway, read the thread to see how these people — many of whom were and *are* instrumental in Stop the Steal bullshit — wanted to do a coup to ignore the election results with the help of SCOTUS and Pence.
This document was *in the hands of the White House Chief of Staff.*
Note that this “re-run the election” idea is fairly similar to what Sidney Powell and Mike Flynn pitched in the White House meeting with Trump on December 18.
Why would that be attractive to the Trump camp? Two reasons — first, obviously, Trump lost and they wanted a do-over.
1. Stolen-election cranks in Utah, some of them armed, are going door to door to record people without their consent while they ask questions about the election
In particular, read far enough to hit the quotes by @holden, explaining how “election fraud affidavits” work as a strategy for the Stop the Steal crowd— they let you take low-quality “evidence,” like (real example!) “I saw a mixed-race couple mail a large item while laughing”…
and turn it into an “affidavit” which the Stop the Steal crowd can cite as “evidence of voter fraud” through the simple expedient of just… writing the bullshit down and getting the author and a notary to sign it.
After that, it sounds all official & serious: ooh, an affidavit!
3. Some of the Definitely Real Hunter Biden Emails I've seen floating around, in my judgment, *are* probably forgeries. Pretty crude ones at that!
This, for example, is just... not at all how humans talk, but it IS a bunch of red meat for GOP'ers who wanna gin up a scandal.
That said,
4. Some of the items will probably be genuine too (in Macronleaks a LOT of items were genuine -- and boring -- while a few hand-crafted fakes were meant to lob a grenade into the French election right before people went to the polls).
The problem I have w/reporting on the alleged emails between Tucker Carlson and Hunter Biden is:
It assumes the Definitely Real Hunter Biden Laptop is in fact real, and, uh, I have a lot of questions about that.
I mean, a LOT of questions.
To @pinealdecalcify’s observation below, I would add that Tore in particular — the one who first made this public in May of this year — is so fringey and untrustworthy that *other QAnon influencers* make fun of her for it.
Also, someone reasonably asked me: “How does it assume that?”
Good question! The answer:
The content is almost certainly sourced from the Definitely Real Laptop. There have been QAnon/stolen election cranks circulating bits and pieces of “damning emails” from it for months now.
