Omicron has now been around for at least a full month. As far as I know, there has not been a single death by Omicron, vaccinated or otherwise.
Yes, Omicron looks awfully ugly because it has many mutations, but it is not as ugly as the knee jerk reaction by some governments to it.
And apparently, the incubation period of Omicron is 48 hours, like the common cold and much shorter than the incubation period of Delta….

Really disappointing to see the U.K. government action. There WILL be new variants every year. We will only know how severe variants are weeks after they are identified (like flu). Does that mean the UK will now introduce economic restrictions every Xmas?! #DowningStreetBriefing

The reality is that the petrol shortages in Britain are because there is so much well-paid work locally that there aren’t enough lorry drivers. It is a problem, but a good problem to be facing…
We will face a similar problem with carers…lots of old people but not enough carers. We need more open borders, only way around this. And this applies to all developed nations
As crude and vulgar as this may sound, we in Britain and in almost all other developed nations with low birth rates need to import young men and women from nations that produce babies they can’t feed. Brain drain will be a temporary price to pay.

Only good news is the Israeli Palestinian collaboration to deal with the fires today & as a result, Israel cancelling its request for international help. I hope both Israelis & Palestinians realise that Americans can dump them just like die with Afghanistan & finalize a deal ASAP
The only reliable partners for Israelis should be the Palestinians and the only reliable partners for the Palestinians should be the Israelis. 70 years of Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs living together (regardless of political circumstances) means they are almost identical
Neither side - Israelis or Palestinians should let foreigners interfere: Americans, Arabs, Iranians, Turks etc etc. Just deal directly because as Afghanistan should teach us, don’t rely on foreign support

From one of my many previous warnings about @Facebook appointment of Karman. Will @nickclegg and @facebook now act and terminate and apologise for her scandalous appointment?

Muslim Brotherhood’s spiritual arm - Islamic Union of Muslim Scholars, full of praise of the Taliban win. Half a dozen statements and articles including by its head, calling it “liberation”, and calling Britain and the US “occupiers”. MB runs 400+ mosques in Britain…

Everything back in its place. 20 years ago, the ONLY channel Taliban allowed to operate in Kabul was Aljazeera. Tonight, they together celebrate victory inside the Presidential palace. Also tonight, Taliban are running the show from the home of Aljazeera, Qatar. #Afghanistan
Also 20 years ago, Bin Laden out of Afghanistan decided to give Aljazeera exclusive footage of him taking responsibility for 9/11. Until when do we keep burying our heads in the sand?!
2 years ago, I warned how Aljazeera on its Arabic channel was promoting Taliban. Here is one tweet from 2019…(forget Aljazeera English, watch Aljazeera Arabic the channel that radicalises Arab speaking youth)
