CNN’s media reporter seems to like every tweet arguing the media need to do a better job treating Republicans like America’s No. 1 national security threat

The reality, of course, is the opposite. The United States is federal republic, and efforts to undermine this constitutional structure are precisely the reason political polarization is ever-increasingly ruining our everyday lives.
People are like Klaas are so consumed by their ideology they either can’t see, or simply don’t care to see, how they’re the ones staking out the more “extreme” position.
Klaas dresses his activism up as an effort to “save democracy” from Republicans; more accurately these efforts should be viewed as a means of using the national media to normalize their radicalism.
