Thread! What were some of the moments of peak stupidity during Covid-19? I’ll start with this one, locking down kids’ swings
Australians bravely minimizing the threat posed by … goal posts
“You can kick their balls, but you can’t touch them”
California authorities putting sand into a skate park to render it unusable
When this happened to San Fran parks
The Texas A&M marching band
Just in case a cloud of Covid rolls through
Keeping dogs safe in Shanghai
Whatever you do, don’t breath fresh air
DIY self-protection also enables people to express their creativity
And OCD
Hopefully this was just a prank being pulled by the band teacher
Banning paddleboarding
Banning basic human survival
Give them credit for breaking social distancing rules
Father arrested for playing with his daughter at an outdoor playground w/ no one else around
There shall only be bricks [a follower sends from Victoria, Australia]
Surely the best part of Covid was turning germaphobia into a virtue

Terrifying news: A dangerous contagion is sweeping across Washington. It’s a virus that specifically targets victims’ hippocampus, particularly impacting the area of the brain responsible for … basic math. See for yourself!
Reporters are also getting infected!
It’s even spreading inside the White House!

Yale Prof. Timothy Snyder: "My advice for the press corps is to drop the 'fair and balanced'” approach
@brianstelter WaPo’s @crampell: Media focusing too much on the pricetag of Dems’ $3.5T bill: “The bill itself will not cost $3.5T in the sense it will be entirely, or at least partly, paid for. So the actual cost will be smaller than that, perhaps zero, although I think that’s unlikely"
@brianstelter @crampell Stelter to @nhannahjones on school districts banning the #1619Project curriculum: “Is this just the ‘whitelash' in another form, Nikole? Some white Americans afraid to deal with reality?”
