Dkbk where in their 3rd year Bakugo comes up with the perfect plan to confess to Deku. It involves all the things he hates — parties, big crowds and public displays of affection. But if it was gonna get that oblivious nerd to finally realize how—
Bakugo felt about him, it would all be worth it.

What his plan doesn't involve though, is Deku kissing someone else under the mistletoe Bakugo set up for his confession.

It was a fucking stupid tradition, one that Katsuki missed out on every year. They were going to be *heroes*, what was the point of attending a *school dance* of all things? As if the sport’s festival and then the school festival weren’t enough, they also had to deal with a—
dance at the end of the winter term. Katsuki didn’t really feel like pretending to be in the festive spirit, just so he could watch a bunch of horny fucks making out under every damn mistletoe they came across. It was really just an excuse for people to grope each other in—
public while wearing inappropriate santa costumes. And those things were *inappropriate*, with a capital ‘I’. He honestly wasn’t sure how some of those skimpy outfits were allowed, but he never heard of anyone getting reprimanded for wearing them.
The point was, the whole UA Christmas festival was dumb as hell and Katsuki had never willingly participated in it. He had to be dragged kicking and screaming and then spent the whole five minutes he was actually present complaining.

So the fact he was no willingly putting—
himself through this really said a lot about his resolve.

“I wanna go to that Christmas dance this year.” He announced.

He was sitting in Kaminari’s room, with Kaminari on the floor in front of his bed and Kirishima sitting in a chair close to Katsuki. They were playing one—
of their dumb video games and Katsuki was pretending to watch them, but he was too stuck in his own head to really pay attention. His announcement resulted in Kaminari getting killed when he took his eyes off the screen to stare at Katsuki with his mouth gaping stupidly.
“Am I hearing this correctly?” He asked and actually stuck his finger in his ear as if to clean it out. Gross. “You’re *actually* volunteering to go? We don’t even have to bribe you?”

Katsuki kicked him in the back with his foot. “Ha ha, motherfucker.” He muttered. “Yes, I’m—
fucking volunteering. You got a problem with that?”

“*Ouch*.” Kaminari whined and glared at Katsuki. “That was uncalled for. But I know violence is how you show affection, so I’ll overlook it this time. And *no*, I don’t have a problem with it.” He sighed dramatically.
“I was just worried you might have some kind of brain injury or something. My bad for caring about you.”

Kirishima grinned and paused their game. “Uh, you’re not trying to invite one of us to go right?” He laughed. “‘Cause I was kinda hoping to ask Mina. Might be a bit awkward—
if you’re third wheeling us.” He said thoughtfully. “But I guess that’s why I got two arms!”

“Shut up, I wasn’t asking you morons out.” Katsuki snapped as Kirishima flexed his biceps at him with a goofy grin. “I’m gonna use that stupid party to ask Deku out.” He said—
nonchalantly, like his heart wasn’t pounding in his throat at just the thought of it.

Kaminari’s face turned serious immediately. “Woah. You serious?” He asked.

Katsuki shrugged. “Yeah. We’re in our 3rd year, we’re officially gonna be out of here and out in the real world in—
a few months. If i don’t do it now I’ll probably never get the balls for it.”

It was only slightly embarrassing to admit that he was actually nervous about it, but he figured if he could be nervous in front of anyone, it would be these two idiots. They were the only ones who—
knew about his crush on Deku, or as Kaminari liked to call it, his “dirty little nerd boner”. But Kaminari was a fucking idiot, so Katsuki rarely listened to him.

“Dude, that’s so manly!” Kirishima exclaimed. Katsuki didn’t even have to look to know that giant marshmallow was—
tearing up. “You know Midoriya likes you back so you don’t gotta sweat it!”

“I don’t know shit.” Katsuki muttered. He wasn’t blushing. He *wasn’t*.

The truth was that he didn’t *actually* know if Deku liked him back. Sometimes he was sure that was the case, like when Deku’s—
eyes lit up when katsuki said he’d train with him. But the nerd was a work obsessed maniac and he would take any opportunity to improve his technique and quirk. Katsuki just happened to be his best option for sparring because they were pretty evenly matched most of the time.
Sometimes he thought he caught Deku looking at him from the corner of his eye and his heart would flutter with hope. But Deku was a nerd and a hero freak and he probably stared at everyone who passed him and had even a slightly cool quirk.

Katsuki was sure Deku spent almost—
every minute of the day making mental notes on every fucker he met and wondering about how they could best utilize their quirk in a fight. He had an entire pile of notebooks filled with shit like that and the amount of information he had on people was getting progressively more—
concerning with each fresh notebook. Katsuki knew he was no exception. His quirk was amazing and it was no secret that Deku always admired and even copied his fighting style. He was sure at least a few pages in one of Deku’s notebooks were dedicated to him, and that in no way—
made him special to Deku.

So, no. He didn’t actually know if Deku liked him back. But he was willing to put it to the test and find out.

But Kirishima didn’t seem convinced. He rolled his eyes and said nothing more on it. “Okay well, how are you gonna do it?” He asked—
curiously. He was clearly restraining himself from doing jumping jacks to get the excitement out of his system. “Why’s it gotta be at the party anyway?”

“Because, Shitty hair, unlike you I actually use my head to think about these things.” Katsuki said and flicked Kirishima’s—
forehead. “The stupid party’s gonna be filled with people, but it’s also gonna be filled with mistletoes. All I have to do is get him under one of those and he’ll have to kiss me cause it’s tradition.” He shrugged.
Kaminari laughed. “But then he’s just gonna think *you* did it cause it’s tradition.” He pointed out.

“That’s the fucking point, moron.” Katsuki sighed. “Look, it’s simple. I get him under a mistletoe, and if he kisses me it means there’s at least a *chance* he likes me and—
I can tell him I like him. If he *doesn’t* wanna kiss me and he’s all grossed out, I’ll know there’s no way he actually likes me and I can just tell him it’s a stupid tradition and that’s the only reason I was gonna do it.”
Kaminari looked pretty impressed. “Ooh, so you’re giving yourself an out in case it backfires. That’s pretty smart.”

“Not that manly though.” Kirishima pointed out with a small frown. “You should just man up and openly tell him how you feel. You said it yourself, if you don’t—
do it now, when are you gonna?”

“Hey, it’s not that easy.” Katsuki snapped in annoyance. “If he rejects me outright it’ll get awkward and shit’s gonna get super weird between us. I don’t wanna mess up our friendship over this.” He admitted.
“Some friendships are worth ruining.” Kirishima said wisely, although that was the biggest pile of bullcrap Katsuki ever heard anyone spout. “Like if you could have something even *better*, you know? Then it’s worth it!”

As nice as that sounded, Katsuki didn’t know if he was —
prepared to completely lose Deku if his little confession backfired.

“Well, whatever. I’m doing it my way.” He said stubbornly. “And it’s gonna work *fine*. I just have a backup plan in case it doesnt.” He shrugged.

Kirishima sighed in exasperation. “Fine, fine. But you—
gotta promise me if you have to use your back up plan, you’ll confess to him some other way. You should tell him how you feel, even if it’s not at that party.”

Katsuki didn’t say anything. He thought it was easy for Kirishima to say that, but he didn’t know what losing Deku’s—
friendship would do to Katsuki. He would rather stay in the friend zone forever than lose Deku completely.

Within a week the entire building looked like Santa Claus threw up on virtually every surface available. There were way too many Christmas trees around to be reasonable – sure there was only two of them, but that’s already one more than is technically needed.
Katsuki was no grinch, but he felt like barfing every time he walked into the common room and saw everyone wearing a santa hat, and all the stupid fucking *green* that was overtaking his entire *life* it seemed.

The festivities didn’t stop in class A either. *Everyone* was—
talking about the stupid Christmas party. Since it was a party for the entire school and not just the hero course, it was bound to be huge, and there were bound to be even more Christmas trees to torment Katsuki’s eyes. But he had more important things to worry about.
“You’re carrying it around with you?” Kirishima asked incredulously. “But there’s gonna be more than enough of them at the party!” He exclaimed.

Katsuki kicked him in the shin. It seemed “subtle” wasn’t a word in Kirishima’s dictionary. They were in the freaking common room—
with a very high possibility of being overheard and Kirishima would just *not* keep his voice down.

“Will you keep it down?” Katsuki hissed at him and looked around suspiciously.

Everyone else seemed too preoccupied talking about the party planning to pay them any attention.
Frog face was standing close by talking to Lobes and Floaty, and they were all so immersed in the conversation with their heads so close together Katsuki figured they wouldn’t notice if an All Might-sized boulder crashed through the window.
“Ouch. Sorry.” Kirishima pouted. “But I don’t get it, you can just use one of the ones at the party.”

“No, it’s gotta be this one.” Okay, so he had a special fucking mistletoe he planned to kiss Deku under, *big deal*. It’s not like he was being sentimental, he just didn’t—
wanna have his first kiss with Deku under some slutty mistletoe that everyone else had already used. So he planned to carry one around in his pocket and when the time came he was gonna set it up somewhere and have Deku kiss him under it.

“You’re taking this so serious.”
Kirishima pointed out and then grinned. “That’s so manly! Midoriya’s a lucky guy.”

“*Will you keep it down.*” Katsuki hissed and boinked Kirishima’s head with his fist a few times for good measure.

“Ow, ow, ow! Okay, sorry!” Kirishima whined, trying to protect his head with—
both hands. “Jeez, man I’m just hyping you up!”

“Well, hype me up quietly. I don’t need all these extras overhearing my personal shit.” Katsuki muttered. If someone heard and it got back to Deku the entire plan would be ruined. Not to mention it would be really fucking—
embarrassing for him.

“Okay, okay.” Kirishima lowered his voice and leaned in. Because *that* didn’t make him look fucking obvious or anything. “So how are you gonna do it? When the party’s in full swing?” He asked.

“No, dumbass. I’m gonna go over there before the party—
starts and put it up. I’ll find it later when the crowd gets there.” Katsuki said. Kirishima nodded along, impressed. “Can I see?” He asked.

Katsuki looked at him strangely. “See what?” He muttered.

“Your mistletoe! I wanna see what it looks like.” Kirishima said excitedly,—
his voice rising again despite his best effort. “You have it now, right?”

Katsuki did have it, but he hadn’t planned on actually taking it out until he needed to. It was embarrassing enough that he was doing this in the first place, but to be found carrying around a mistletoe—
in his pocket like some damn loser was life ruining in his opinion. He looked around pointedly; the girls standing in a huddle across the room still had their backs to them.

He slowly reached into his pocket and pulled out the small plant. It had a bow tied around it that was—
red, white and blue. But if Kirishima didn’t spot the meaning, Katsuki wasn’t about to point it out to him.

“Dude!” Kirishima chortled. “Well, you’ll definitely spot it in a crowd, that’s for sure.” He laughed.

Okay. Maybe he did spot the meaning.
Katsuki flushed and shoved the mistletoe back in his pocket. But he was extra careful with it so he didn’t ruin the bow or bend the thing.

“Shut up.” He muttered. Kirishima just snorted in response.

The trickiest part about the whole thing was setting it all up without being spotted. Since this was a festival for the entire school, the party was being held in the same huge gym as the school festival took place.

When Katsuki and Kirishima got there, the entire room was—
already decorated with huge Christmas trees, multi-colored lights and a million mistletoes all hanging low from the ceiling. Nerves prickled under Katsuki’s skin but he refused to show them or back down. He could see Kirishima glancing at him the entire time as if he wanted to—
make sure Katuski wouldn’t bail.

“You’re supposed to be keeping a lookout.” Katsuki muttered under his breath.

“I am!” Kirishima insisted, pouting. “There’s people here, what do you want me to do about it?” He whined.

“Just make sure no one’s looking at me, dumbass.”
He wasn’t sure *why* he was being so secretive about this when it might have been easier to just join the decorating crew. But like fuck was he gonna decorate this entire thing for *other people*. He was only willing to do that shit for Deku and no one else.

He moved away from—
Kirishima and started staking out the place, trying to find the perfect spot to put his mistletoe in. He could see a bunch of people from other classes around, some he recognized and some he was sure he never saw before in his life. There were even some idiots from *his* class—
over by one of the Christmas trees, and Katsuki was extra careful not to be spotted by them.

He ducked around one of the trees and find a mistletoe-less window right next to it. The window was decorated to make it look like the glass was frosted over and there were stickers of—
snowflakes taped to it. It looked like a decent enough spot and he knew he would be able to find it with the tree right next to it. It wasn’t exactly out of view though, and as he taped the mistletoe to the ceiling above the window he felt like someone’s eyes were burning a hole—
in his back. When he turned around, he almost collided with Kirishima.

“Nice spot.” He grinned approvingly.

“Thought I told you to keep a lookout.” Katsuki said, hopping off the windowsill.

“I was!” Kirishima insisted. “Don’t worry, your super secret confession plan is—
still super secret.” He rolled his eyes, his stupid grin still in place. Somehow Katsuki wasn’t too convinced that Kirishima did a very good job, but it was done now so all he could really do was hope the party wasn’t a total bust.

The party was a total bust.
At least by Katsuki’s standards. The crowd was too thick and the music was too loud, so you couldn’t actually talk to anyone, you had to shout in people’s ears and spit all over their hair and face in order for them to hear anything over the music. And even then it wasn’t—
guaranteed you could communicate what you wanted. Plus the food consisted mostly of snacks and similar junk, which Katsuki wasn’t interested in eating at all. So he was cranky *and* hungry. And he was even more cranky because he was hungry.

Another reason for this party being—
a total and utter disaster was that Deku was apparently *popular*. Katsuki thought he found himself in a different dimension, because in what world was that nerd someone so many people wanted to be around?

Sure, he was awesome and perfect and great company, but Katsuki had—
been under the impression he alone discovered this about Deku and it was just *his* to know. It turned out, lots of people knew Deku’s charms pretty well, so it was difficult for Katsuki to get him alone. Every time he managed to find him in the crowd, he was surrounded by—
people, talking and laughing and gesturing. It was fucking annoying.

Katsuki was pouting and muttering to himself by the punch bowl, a full glass in his hand since the stuff was too disgusting to actually drink. But he needed to look like he was doing *something* or else he’d—
look like a stalker staring at Deku all night. He was starting to feel fucking pathetic standing there for fifteen minutes just staring around like a loser.

Somehow his situation managed to get even worse, if it was at all possible, when Floaty came over to the punch bowl and—
grinned at him like they were best pals.

“Having fun?” She asked – or more like yelled so she could be heard over the music.

Katsuki almost wanted to pretend like he didn’t hear her. He made the mistake of making eye contact for a split second though, so that strategy was—
out of the window. Since he had no way out of this interaction anymore he opted to just shrug and turn his head, staring blankly ahead of himself.

“You should go and dance!” Floaty screeched in his ear. She was suddenly standing way too close for comfort and katsuki tried to—
discreetly move away from her.

She gave him an exasperated look and then shrugged, leaving him wondering what the fuck she was thinking. Because she was *definitely* thinking something.

“Suit yourself.” She said. “Don’t be upset later that you missed out.
With that ominous message she disappeared back into the crowd and left Katsuki to stare after her. He felt like he needed to douse himself in disinfectant after standing so close to someone so sweaty. Instead he downed the disgusting drink and grimaced at the taste.
It couldnt have been more than a few minutes after that another nuisance made his way over to him. And it’s been way too long since he spotted Deku in the crowd.

“Where’s Midoriya?” Kirishima asked loudly as he came over to Katsuki. He grabbed a clean cup and poured himself—
some punch, then drank it like he actually thought it tasted good. “I thought you were gonna make your move.”

A part of Katsuki was uncomfortable with how loudly Kirishima was talking right now, but he was consoled by the fact the music was so damn loud there was no way anyone—
would hear him over it.

“I am, I just haven’t seen him in a while.” He muttered.

“Don’t wuss out, you can do it.” Kirishima said bracingly, and then started looking around the crowd, searching for Deku. It took him almost two whole songs before he said anything and Katsuki—
was just about to give up himself when Kirishima gasped. “Uh, dude… I think someone’s stealing your mistletoe spot.” He said.

Katsuki whipped around and searched for his tree. It didn’t take him too long to find it because there was a crowd of people gathered around the window.
They all seemed pretty excited about something, some of them even taking pictures on their phone and whistling. He couldn’t figure out what the hell was happening until someone moved to the side and Katsuki got a clear view—

Of Deku kissing Uraraka under his mistletoe.

Katsuki stood frozen in the spot, his mind fighting to process what he was seeing. He realized that up until this very moment he had managed to convince himself that Deku actually felt the same about him and that when he confessed they would be together. As nervous as he was to—
actually do it, he was fully convinced everything would have worked out in his favor and they’d end up getting together and maybe these last few months at UA would be spent getting closer to each other and figuring out what they wanted to do after school.
But as it turned out, he really wasn’t anything special to Deku.

So he just stood there and watched as Uraraka attempted to suck Deku’s soul out of his mouth and everyone around them cheered and took pictures of them as if this was some big event. When they finally separated—
after another few disgustingly sloppy kisses, Katsuki saw Uraraka say something to a very blushing Deku, and then she was grabbing his hand and dragging him off through the crowd. He saw her giggle as they passed through to the exit and Deku was just trotting after her, looking—
dazed and like he couldn’t really process the whole thing. Katsuki knew the feeling.

When he turned around, he saw Kirishima watching him with a devastated expression, but before he could open his mouth to needlessly try to console him, Katsuki put his hand up.
“Shut up. It’s whatever.” He muttered. Both of them ignored how his voice cracked slightly at the last word. “I guess I really wasn’t anything special to him after all.” He said dismissively.

And if his heart broke into a million pieces in his chest and threatened to—
completely cut off his breathing, Katsuki kept that to himself.

Walking in on Floaty and Deku sucking face was fast becoming the new normal for everyone in class. Katsuki tried to fight off his grimace every time he saw Deku’s kiss swollen lips or Uraraka’s stupid—
blush as they awkwardly seperated. It seemed that Uraraka forgot what a chair was and now had to sit in Deku’s lap or across it in some way in every possible moment.

Katsuki’s stomach twisted uncomfortably whenever he saw them together, but he knew that was selfish. He knew—
that he should be happy for Deku, because this was his first real relationship and obviously he liked Uraraka if he was dating her.

It was hard to be happy though, when he felt like he was going crazy every time he caught Uraraka’s eye and he thought she looked smug as hell—
about something. He convinced himself it was just jealousy, or his own insecurity and disappointment that Deku liked someone else.

That apparently Katsuki wasn’t as amazing as special to him as he always thought.
Every time someone interrupted those two, Uraraka would blush like an idiot and giggle and make some stupid remark that made Katsuki want to barf or scratch his own eyes out.

“Guess this is the honeymoon phase, huh?” She said airily.

Meanwhile, Deku looked like he wanted—
the ground to open up and swallow him every time. Katsuki thought it was understandable. He wasn’t used to having so much attention on him, especially because of his relationship, and it was expected that he was embarrassed about all the fuss everyone was making.
Especially considering all the pictures of him and Uraraka sucking face at the Christmas party that made it to the internet. They were all already public figures and have been for years, so it was natural for the public to be interested in their personal lives as well.
As soon as those pictures were posted, everyone went wild and started having theories about how long the relationship was, coming up with couple names for them and all kinds of other shit that almost made Katsuki glad he hadn’t confessed.

Almost.
It was clear all the attention was taking a toll on Deku but Katsuki didn’t know how to approach him about it. Was it even his place to say anything? He thought that if he did he would be doing it out jealousy instead of genuine concern for Deku’s well being.

But a part of—
him also knew that Deku was still his nerd – they were friends, despite the fact Deku didn’t feel the same as Katsuki. He would just need to get over his dumb feelings and *actually* be happy for Deku instead of just pretending to be.

“Why don’t you just take a social media—
break?” He asked the next day in training.

It’s been two weeks since the Christmas party and Deku was looking more beat down by the day. Or maybe Katsuki was just imagining that. When he looked up though, the smile he gave Katsuki barely reached his eyes.
“I gotta keep up with hero news.” He said. It was clear he was trying to sound excited but it wasn’t very convincing. “Plus I’ve never had this much attention on my social media before. I mean, I don’t wanna let anybody down and not keep people updated.” He mumbled.
“You don’t owe shit to those extras.” Katsuki snapped. “Least of all an insight into your private life. I can tell that it’s bothering you that you’re getting all this attention.” He pointed out.

Deku bit the inside of his cheek and shuffled his feet. “I guess I’m not the—
biggest fan of it.” He admitted. “But Ochako’s right, you know. The attention’s a good thing. The public loves a good romance and it’ll really help both our rankings when we debut if we keep up with that now.”

Katsuki wasn’t too familiar with the public’s need to pry into—
heroes’ personal lives, but he knew none of this could be genuinely coming from Deku. it wasn’t like he didn’t care about his public image and rankings, but *saving people* was his main motivation and this just sounded… cheap.

“You don’t *have* to do it that way.” He insisted.
“Your rankings will be great because you’re a great hero, not cause of some shallow teen romance farce.” He muttered.

The fact that he just outwardly complimented him seemed to go straight over Deku’s head. “It’s not a farce.” He mumbled.

Katsuki couldn’t tell if he sounded—
genuine or not. It sounded more like he was trying to convince himself of it than anything else.

“And I think it’s a good thing too. There’s nothing wrong with being in a relationship, Kacchan.”

Katsuki couldn’t shake the feeling that he sounded defensive.
“I never said there is.” He scoffed, crossing his arms across his chest. “I’m just saying you shouldn’t have to go so far out of your comfort zone because of it. What good does that do you?”

“Staying in my comfort zone never did me any good.” Deku snapped back. “At least now I—
have someone who actually *likes* me. Excuse me for not wanting to mess that up.”

Katsuki stared, startled at the sudden change in Deku’s attitude. What the hell did tha mean? “Other people like you, nerd. It’s not just that Floaty dumbass.”

Deku scoffed. “Sure, Kacchan.”
He said. Was Katsuki imagining it or did Deku sound bitter? “Just drop it. Everything’s fine. We should get back to training.”

Something about Deku’s entire demeanor changed after that and even in training he seemed less focused. He kept looking at Katsuki like he wanted to say—
something but either couldn’t find the words or thought better of it every time. Katsuki spent the rest of the day thinking how everything was definitely not fine.

Whatever the reason was for Deku’s sudden attitude change, it persisted outside of training too.
He wanted to spend less and less time with Katsuki and whenever they were together they barely spoke anymore and Deku kept looking like he wanted to throw up a slew of words.

It wasn’t until another week after that Katsuki finally snapped, unable to take it anymore.
“Alright, spit it out!” He snapped at Deku after their training session.

Those sessions were slowly becoming the only time they spent together at all and he *hated it*. All he wanted was to spend every waking minute with Deku, to kiss that frown away from his face and to get—
him to actually *talk* about what was bothering him.

“What the hell’s been going on with you? You’ve been acting weird, and don’t think I didn’t notice you avoiding me.”

Deku didn’t look at him immediately. He seemed to be battling with himself over something and he finally—
looked up just before Katsuki was about to open his mouth again and start interrogating him. “I know you just do this because you pity me.” He said quietly.

The statement surprised Katsuki enough that for a moment he was actually stunned speechless. Deku looked up at him and—
scoffed, like Katsuki’s silence proved him right.

“It’s true, isn’t it? You just feel *guilty* and that’s why you put up with me.” Katsuki could tell he was trying to sound indifferent and maybe even angry but he just sounded defeated.

“No, that’s *not* true, you idiot.—
You think I ever do shit I don’t wanna do?” Katsuki demanded.

Maybe Deku wasn’t completely wrong. Maybe at first, training with him had been Katsuki’s way of making up for their past, but it had *never* been because he pitied Deku. “Where the hell’d you get that idea all of a—
sudden?” As soon as he asked it, he knew the answer. But was he jumping to conclusions? He was again unsure if his conclusion stemmed from jealousy or genuine concern for Deku.

“I didn’t need anybody to tell me that.” Deku said, but he again sounded unconvincing. “I can see it—
by myself.”

“Like hell you can!” Katsuki snapped. “Floaty said something to you, didn’t she?” He demanded.

He didn’t know why he went there immediately. All he knew was that things between him and Deku changed after he started dating Uraraka and he didn’t like it.
Maybe he was jealous, and maybe he was jumping to conclusions but he could tell that something more was happening. Something Deku wasn’t telling him.

“She didn’t say anything.” Deku said defensively. “I know how you really feel about me, Kacchan. I know how everyone else feels—
too. You all just put up with me because you think you have to.” He sounded breathless all of a sudden, like finally saying all of this out loud was choking him. “Well I’m done being a burden to everyone! You don’t have to bother anymore, you can stop pretending.” He said—
shakily. “I’m done pretending, too.”

Katsuki didn’t have a chance to process all of this properly or say anything before Deku already ran past him, leaving him alone in the gym. Leaving him to wonder what the hell was happening.

Katsuki knew something was going on. He didn’t know *what*, but he knew he didn’t like it. The way Deku started avoiding him and even shutting himself off from his other friends just seemed extreme. And extremely out of character.

Katsuki watched, and he noticed the more time—
passed the less Deku hung out with anyone other than Uraraka, until at one point, he was with her *all* the time and almost completely stopped talking to everyone else in the class.

If he didn’t know Deku, he would think he was just so infatuated with his girlfriend that he—
was neglecting his other friends a little bit.

That seemed to be the general consensus from everyone else, anyway.

“Dude’s just getting some for the first time ever, give him a break.” Kaminari shrugged when Katsuki finally opened up about his worries. “He probably just—
discovered the wonders of finally touching a girl, if you know what I mean.” He said and wiggled his eyebrows.

“Stop being gross, I’m fucking serious.” Katsuki snapped. “She’s filling his head with some bullshit, that’s why he’s acting all weird and distant. He *told* me he—
thinks I pity him and so does everyone else and that’s why we hang out with him.”

Out of the three people he spoke to about this, only Jirou seemed to be taking him seriously. The reason he decided to tell her was because he knew she was close to Uraraka and he was hoping maybe—
she’d give him some insight to calm him down.

“Honestly, I can’t see Ochako getting him to ditch his other friends for her.” She said. “But I guess I have noticed they’ve been spending pretty much all their time together. She basically stopped hanging out with all of us, too.”
“See?” Katsuki asked pointedly, convinced this proved him right.

“Come on, so what?” Kaminari groaned. “I’m telling you, they’re freshly dating. Of course they wanna spend all their time *exploring* the relationship.” He seemed to have completely missed the part where Katsuki—
said Deku thought he was just being tolerated and pitied by everyone.

“Will you shut up about that?” Katsuki snapped again.

“Yeah man, cut it out.” Kirishima spoke for the first time. He hasn’t said anything about Katsuki’s concern that something was going on with Deku,—
or shared his thoughts on the situation. In fact, he’s been avoiding mentioning the whole thing at all since it first happened. Katsuki knew he was just trying to protect his feelings, but he was sick of being babied for no damn reason.

“You’re not gonna say anything?”
He demanded. Kirishima gave him an exasperated look and shook his head.

“What, you want me to say I agree with you?” He asked. “I don’t.”

Katsuki felt like he was doused with ice cold water. If he could count on anyone to be in his corner about *everything*, it was Kirishima.
Hearing him say that he didn’t agree with katsuki actually made him falter and wonder if he was wrong. “I’m sorry, Bakugo, but I really think you’re looking too much into things because your feelings are hurt.” He said.

Jirou had the decency to pretend she didn’t hear him, or—
didn’t understand what he meant. Katsuki wasn’t so subtle about it.

“What, you think I got my heart broken or some shit?” He demanded. “Well I *didn’t*. I just know Deku, I know him better than all of you and I can tell something’s up with him.” He insisted.
Kirishima frowned and sighed. “Yeah, I guess I do think that. And I get it. It’s totally understandable that you’re hurt and jealous Midoriya is dating someone else. But I think you’re overthinking it and your judgement is clouded by your feelings.”

Everyone fell silent for a—
moment and Katsuki was pretty sure they could hear his heart beating out of his chest as loudly as he could.

“Not cool, Ei.” Kaminari mumbled quietly.

“Hey, you wanted me to be honest. I’m being honest.” kirishima defended. “I’m on your side, I just don’t want you to get—
even more hurt with all this.”

“I guess it does make sense they’d want to be close to each other.” Jirou said thoughtfully after a moment. “They did just start dating.”

Katsuki half expected Kaminari to chime in that he’s been saying that the entire time, but he seemed to—
think Kirishima really crossed a line with his honesty so he stayed quiet. Katsuki didn’t even know why he was calling Kirishima out on the same thing he said himself, but he decided to let it go. It was clear none of them agreed with him that there was any problem at all.
He would just have to think of a way to show them they were wrong.

tbc in a bit! if you like it, let me know ♡
When Ochako first kissed him, Izuku was surprised. More than anything else, he just felt completely stunned because she completely blindsided him with it.

Before he could react at all she had her arms around his neck and he felt like he *had* to reciprocate, because what else—
was he supposed to do? His mind kept reeling with what to say when they broke the kiss but he didn’t get a chance to say anything at all, because when Ochako pulled away from him he was met with cat calls and whistles and he realized *everyone* was watching them. He looked down—
at Ochako and she smiled at him, pointing up above them.

He glanced up and saw a mistletoe right over their heads and he distantly thought the ribbon around it looked kinda like All Might’s theme colors. Okay, so Ochako just kissed him because of the mistletoe. But that wasn’t—
very consoling when he saw all the camera flashes capturing the moment from at leas five different sides.

“About time!” Someone yelled from the crowd. Izuku was so dazed and disoriented that he couldn’t keep up with everything that was happening. He felt like he was drunk with—
just how overwhelming everything was. The next thing he knew Ochako was grabbing his hand and dragging him through the crowd and Izuku’s legs followed on their own. Once they were outside and he could take a proper breath Izuku felt his head clearing a little bit.

“Ocha–”
“I like you!” Ochako exclaimed, like she wanted to do it before she lost the nerve. “I’ve liked you since we were in first year.” She said and then her hands flew to her face to hide her blush.

Izuku stared. He felt once again like he was drunk and just wasn’t hearing correctly.
Or maybe his brain was suddenly incapable of comprehending human speech, because there was *no way* he just got confessed to by a girl. It seemed he was shocked for a little too long because Ochako was looking up at him nervously.

“Aren’t you gonna say anything?” she asked.
Izuku could tell how nervous she was and he felt bad. Even though she caught him by surprise, she was being so brave by confessing to him. He didn’t think he could ever do that.

“Um, you never said anything…” He said lamely.

Ochako’s blush deepend and she bit her lip.
“I know. I was always nervous you wouldn’t like me back.” She admitted, and then suddenly perked up. “But now that we kissed, I know you like me too.” She announced and then all of a sudden she was kissing him again and Izuku was once again stunned speechless.

How could he turn—
her down when she was being so forward and vulnerable with him?

He thought he heard someone calling out to them again and taking their picture, and he realized *why* people kept doing that. The realization hit him at the same time as the one that those pictures were probably—
already all over the internet. They were *heroes*. That made them public figures and any picture of them would instantly get a lot of attention.

“Ochako– those pictures… people are probably already uploading them online.” He said, expecting her to freak out just as much as he—
was. But Ochako just giggled and grinned at him.

“Well, everyone already saw us kiss anyway. So no harm done.” She said nonchalantly and shrugged. Her arms were wrapped around his neck tightly and it made him feel like he was suffocating.

“Um, right but… that was just for—
the mistletoe…” Izuku said weakly and watched Ochako’s smile turn into a pout.

“No, it wasn’t.” She said. “Didn’t you hear me say I like you?” She seemed disappointed by his reaction and for a moment he stopped and thought about it. Ochako was confessing to him. She *liked*—
him and by the looks of it she wanted to be with him. But Izuku knew that he liked someone else, so was it right for him to be with her when he knew he didn’t feel the same? She seemed to sense his hesitation before he could say anything.

“We can give it a shot, can’t we?” She—
asked sweetly. “Those pictures are already out there anyway. So what’s the harm?” She shrugged.

Izuku had to admit, having a girlfriend didn’t seem like the worst thing in the world. Especially if it meant he could put his hopeless crush to rest. He smiled down at Ochako—
and nodded weakly.

“Yeah. There’s no harm in trying.” He agreed.

It turned out that dating Ochako was actually pretty fun. Maybe it was because they were already close, so they basically went from being friends to being in a relationship and spending their time together didn’t change that much.
Aside from the fact that they now kissed… *a lot*. Ochako seemed to be a big fan of it and honestly, Deku liked it too, so he saw no reason to deny her. Except that it was a little embarrassing for people to keep walking in on them in the common room.

“Maybe we could just do—
that in my room.” Izuku mumbled one day after they got interrupted again.

Ochako just laughed lightly. “Why? Everyone knows we’re together, it’s not like we have to hide it.” She said. Which sounded reasonable enough, but Izuku couldn’t help the awkwardness he felt every time—
someone commented on their closeness. Plus he didn’t want to make anyone else uncomfortable.

“Right, but it’s a little–”

“You’re being silly.” Ochako cut him off. “We’re *dating* now. Everyone's happy for us, they don’t mind. Besides, you should off that you have a girlfriend—
now.” She grinned.

Izuku had to take a moment to process that comment because he couldn’t really think of why he should flaunt that fact. But maybe Ochako just wanted him to be proud that he was dating her, so he let it go.

He didn’t immediately notice it, but over the—
next few weeks they both pretty much stopped hanging out with other people and only spent time with each other. The reason he did notice was because he wasn’t spending any amount of time with Kacchan anymore. Except when they were training.
“You know you could still hang out with your other friends.” He pointed this out to Ochako one night when they were watching a movie in the common room. There was no one else around, but Izuku was still slightly uncomfortable with how she draped herself around him as if he was—
a chair. She looked over at him and pouted. “What, you don’t like hanging out with me?” She asked.

“No, I love hanging out with you.” Izuku said immediately. “I just think we shouldn’t neglect our other friends.”

Ochako just rolled her eyes. “They don’t mind, I told you.—
They’re all happy for us.”

“I know, but I was thinking I shouldn’t neglect my training with Kacchan–”

“Oh *please*.” Ochako groaned, startling Izuku. “I know he’s not happy for you, you know.” She said matter of factly. “Not that he would be, since he’s not even your friend.”
“What do you mean?” Izuku stuttered. He was feeling completely lost and he didn’t know how the conversation even turned to this. Ochako gave him a weird look that might have been pity. Or maybe it was condescension.

“Isn’t it obvious?” She asked. “He only trains with you—
because he feels guilty. He’s pitying you.” She said it with such conviction that Izuku almost believed her. But not quite.

“That’s not true at all. Kacchan and I are past all that, we’re friends now–”

“Oh yeah? Then why isn’t he happy for you? You have a girlfriend now,—
someone who actually *likes* you.” She pointed out. The way she said it made Izuku’s insides turn uncomfortably with insecurity.

He always thought that he wasn’t good enough for Kacchan, or for most people for that matter. But he tried convincing himself he was just—
overthinking and other people didn’t actually think that about him. It sure looked like Ochako did think so, though.

“Hey don’t look so sad.” Ochako said. She took his face into her hands and leaned down to kiss him. “I *like* you.” She said. “Just because no one else would—
doesn’t mean *I’ll* leave you. You’re lucky you managed to snag me up in time.” She giggled and kissed him again.

Izuku kissed her back, but his mouth tasted bitter for the rest of the day.

-
-
-
“Oh gosh.” Ochako said. She was sitting on the floor in Izuku’s room, looking down at her phone. She seemed awfully giggly about something, though she was pretending to be troubled. “Those pictures of us just keep getting more likes.” As she said it she turned her phone to show—
him her screen. “That’s so embarrassing.” She sighed.

“I thought you said it wasn’t a big deal.” Izuku raised an eyebrow.

“It’s not!” Ochako said brightly. “I actually think it’s a good thing. People love hero couples, our rankings are gonna be amazing when we debut!”
She sounded so excited about it but Izuku sort of latched onto the idea that she was already planning their relationship months ahead when they’d only been dating for a few weeks.

“Well, our official debuts won’t happen for months.” He pointed out.

“Right, you’re right.”
She agreed. “In the meantime we should really take advantage of this. It’ll definitely help your ratings.” She said nonchalantly and Izuku blanched.

“Wh-what’s wrong with my ratings?” He asked, already panicking about how awful they must be.

Ochako hesitated, biting her lip.
“Um, nothing. They’re… fine.”

“*Fine*?” Izuku choked. Just fine? Was that true? He felt like he was so behind suddenly, like he was completely squandering everything that All Might gave him when he passed his quirk down to izuku. Like he was completely wasting every precious—
opportunity he was given because his ratings were bad.

“People just don’t really like the destructive types so much, that’s all. You gotta work on that.” Ochako said. “But that’s why this is so good! Having a girlfriend is gonna make you look like a big softie and a romantic!—
People love that stuff.” She said wisely. Izuku supposed it made sense, but he was still stuck on the fact his ratings were apparently bad right now.

“Yeah, I guess…” He mumbled.

“Don’t worry so much, this is gonna be great for your image.” Ochako assured him.
Somehow Izuku wasn’t convinced that this relationship would be able to save his reputation if it was as bad as Ochako said.

-
-
-
Over the next few days Izuku tried to keep up a happy face but it was hard. Everything that Ochako said was slowly getting to him and he started—
feeling withdrawn from all his other friends, convinced that they were just pitying him and didn’t actually like him. A part of him was glad he gave into Ochako’s advances because he was starting to realize she was right; nobody else would want him anyway.

It was a miracle—
that Ochako even liked him like this, and there was just no way that Kacchan of all people ever would. It made him feel gross inside to even think that. He had a girlfriend who really liked him and here he was thinking about someone else.

Someone who never saw him that way in—
the first place, and probably never would.

“You’re really lucky we got together.” Ochako kept reminding him of that fact almost every time they talked now. It was hard not to believe it at this point. “I mean, look at how well your social media is doing too! This is already—
helping you a lot.” She said brightly. “God, can you imagine what a scandal it would be if we broke up?” She laughed and shook her head. “It would probably blow up *so bad*.”

Honestly, Izuku hadn’t thought about it. But now that she mentioned it, he wondered if it was true.
Would breaking things off with Ochako hurt his poor ratings even more? Could he actually afford to do that?

If he was being completely honest, the whole social media presence of their relationship was adding an extra strain to him and he felt sick every time his phone pinged—
with a notification now. Being so in the public eye was not something he was used to, at least not for these reasons. He wanted to be recognized for his heroics and for helping people, but apparently everyone was just interested in him when it came to his personal life and him—
having a girlfriend. Was that really the most interesting thing about him? Is that what he amounted to?

He realized that he felt stuck, like he couldn’t back out of this even if he wanted to because a scandal like that would hurt both him and Ochako. And what was the point—
of it anyway? If nobody else would even have him, shouldn’t he be happy with what he had?

His life over the past few weeks and the following ones pretty much amounted to Ochako reminding him near constantly how lucky he was she was willing to be with him and how much of a—
nuisance everyone else considered him. Her words were affirmed when even Kacchan stopped trying to get through to him. But Izuku didn’t think he could even blame him with how he blew up at him after training the other day.

So it came as an enormous surprise when he returned to—
the dorms one afternoon and found Kacchan sitting in the common room, waiting for him by the looks of it.

“Fucking finally.” Kacchan said when he spotted him and got up from his seat. “I’ve been waiting forever, where the hell were you?”
“What’s going on?” Izuku asked weakly, looking around at all of them.

“You’re having an intervention.” Kacchan said firmly. “I’m the only one who thinks you need one ‘cause everyone else is a blind moron. Sit down.”

Izuku hesitated for a moment but then obeyed and slowly—
lowered himself onto the nearest couch. “Um, an intervention for what?” He asked.

Kacchan frowned at him and crossed his arms over his chest. “I don’t know what’s going on with you but I know it’s got something to do with Floaty. And you’re gonna tell me exactly what’s up or—
you’ll have a face full of Howitzer in the next thirty seconds.”

Izuku’s eyes widened. What was happening? “I thought I told you to stay out of it. It’s not like you care anyway.”

“I obviously care!” Kacchan yelled. “What the hell do you think this is?”
“If you were really my friend, you’d be happy for me Kacchan.” Izuku said. It made him feel slightly sick to be repeating Ochako’s words to Kacchan, but he thought it made sense.

“*Happy*?” Kacchan all but screeched. “Happy that you’ve been looking like shit ever since you—
started dating that damn kirby? Am I supposed to be happy you’ve been isolating yourself from everyone and listening to whatever bullshit she’s been telling you?” He demanded. “I’m doing this because i’m your friend! Because I *care*.” He said.

It made Izuku feel guilty that—
Kacchan was getting so upset, but it still made no sense. If he traced it all back… it only made sense that Kacchan and everyone else really were pitying him. He was so pathetic and so unlikable. It was no wonder they were all fed up with him.
“I appreciate your concern, but I’m fi–”

“Don’t say you’re fine.” Kacchan snapped. “Don’t. You can bullshit all the others but you can’t do it to me. I *know* you, Deku. I’ve known you for long enough to see when you’re in your head and I know you’ve been down on yourself!—
And that started happening when you started dating her!” He said. “So I know it’s got something to do with her and you better–”

“What’s going on here?”

Izuku turned and he almost wanted to groan. Perfect. Just the person they were talking about. And she showed up with Mina—
and Jirou in tow, no less. An audience was just what they needed right now.

“Hey.” Izuku said, giving her a tight smile. “Nothing, we’re just talking.”

“No.” Kacchan snapped. “Stop bullshitting, Deku. What have you been saying to him?” He demanded.

“*Me?*” Ochako asked—
incredulously. “What are you talking about? I’ve been his biggest support for the last few weeks! And where have you been?” She demanded.

“That’s rich. I’ve never seen Deku look so defeated, I *know* you said something to him!”

“Hey, Bakugo, calm down.” Jirou said, putting—
her hands up slowly. “You’re getting too worked up.

“Oh please! That’s rich coming from *you*, when you’re the one who bullied him for years!” Ochako snapped. “If he’s got any issues now it’s because *you* ruined his self esteem. *I* tried to help him, and i have been!—
And I don’t need you meddling in our relationship.”

“Guys come on.” Mina said, looking around awkwardly. “There’s no need to yell. Let’s all take a deep–”

“No!” Ochako yelled. “I’m sick and tired of him meddling all the time!” She seemed to be getting upset and Izuku almost—
wanted to reach out for her and tell her to calm down. “I confessed first, deal with it! It’s not my fault you waited for so long!”

Silence fell over the entire room. Izuku was pretty sure he could have heard a fly drop.

“What?” He asked quietly, looking between Ochako, who—
was red in the face with anger, and Kacchan, who’s face was pale and motionless. “What do you mean you confessed first?”

Ochako flushed an even deeper red than she had been. She looked like she wanted to stomp her foot in frustration. “I needed to get my chance with you!” She —
said almost desperately. “So when I overheard Bakugo was planning to confess to you, I–”

“You knew about that?” Kacchan asked incredulously, his eyes wide.

“*Yes*, I knew. And I wasn’t gonna let you steal my chance with Izuku!” She cried. “I knew I had to take the opportunity—
and what does it *matter*? I still confessed and he’s dating *me*!” She said.

“Um… it kind of matters?” Mina chimed in weakly. She seemed uncertain who’s side she was supposed to take in the situation.

“But *why*?” Ochako insisted. “Izuku *wanted* to be with me! He kissed—
me back! And besides, it’s not like *Bakugo* is good enough–”

“What is that supposed to mean?” It took Izuku a moment to realize he was the one who spoke. He felt like he was waking from some kind of trance right then. “Who are you to decide if he’s good enough or not?”
Ochako looked scandalized. “You’re not seriously taking his side?” She asked incredulously. “After everything he’s done, he– he doesn’t even like you as a friend! He bullies you, still, he always has!”

“Wait, you knew I was planning to confess to Deku at the party.” Kacchan—
said slowly. “So you knew– you stole my mistletoe!” He accused.

“Wh-what?” Izuku gaped at Kacchan incredulously.

“My mistletoe! The one with the red and blue ribbon, she kissed you under it!” He exclaimed. “You fucking knew i set that up for a reason.”

“*Fine!*” Ochako—
yelled. She seemed like she couldnt hold herself back anymore. “I knew! And so what? It doesn’t make any difference!”

“Yes it does!” Izuku exclaimed. “How could you– that’s so manipulative.” He mumbled. He was finding it hard to believe Ochako would have been able to be so—
manipulative.

“Yeah no shit.” Kacchan muttered. “She’s been manipulating you the entire time. Haven’t you? You’ve been feeding him crap about how nobody else likes him so you could have him all to yourself.”

Mina’s eyes widened but it was Jirou who spoke up this time.
“Is that true?” She asked. “Did you really make him believe none of us liked him?”

Ochako was on the verge of tears at this point, her face flushed bright red. “I just wanted to be with you.” She said quietly. “So what if i was willing to go the extra mile? I was devoted to—
you!” She said. “And I made you feel special too!”

Izuku stared at her in disbelief. “You made me feel terrible about myself.” He said. “You made me feel like nobody except you could ever like me or want to be with me.”

“Are you serious?” Kacchan demanded. “So you have been—
filling his head with bullshit lies. I fucking knew something was up with you.”

It didn’t seem to phase anybody that Ochako was fully crying at this point. “So what!” She screamed. “I wanted something and I was willing to go and get it! It’s more than I can say about you!”
She yelled at Kacchan. “I was willing to do what I had to to keep Izuku interested and keep him with me.”

“You’re out of your mind.” Mina gasped quietly. “You don’t *do* that to someone you like! You treat them with respect and kindness. What the hell, Ochako?” She demanded.
“Were you seriously that desperate?”

Izuku realized that maybe she was. Maybe she was desperate enough that she was willing to lie to him and manipulate him, and even make him believe he could only ever rely on her. And maybe it wasn’t even just her fault, because Izuku didn’t—
exactly enter the relationship with fully clean intentions either.

“We’re over.” He said quietly. “I can’t believe you’d actually stoop so low just to… to keep me around.” he mumbled. He was still in shock and disbelief but he knew there was no way he could stay with her—
after this. Ochako seemed stunned, like she didn’t actually expect this to happen. “What?” She breathed.

“We’re done.” Izuku repeated. “I don’t wanna see you anymore. I want you to leave me alone from now on.”

The look on Ochako’s face almost made Izuku feel guilty about this—
but he knew it was the right thing. He couldn’t believe he let her manipulate him so badly, that he *trusted* her when all she did the entire time was use him. He turned slowly to his friends as Ochako ran out of the room.

“I’m sorry.” He said weakly. He didn’t even know how to—
begin apologizing for letting Ochako convince him none of them cared about him.

Mina and Jirou exchanged looks and then they both walked over to him and hugged him tightly. “Don’t apologize.” Mina said. “Girls can be pretty deceiving. It’s not your fault she got in your head.”—
she let go of him and looked over her shoulder at Kacchan. “I think you guys should talk.” She said, giving Izuku an encouraging smile before her and Jirou left.

Izuku looked up at Kacchan, feeling way too awkward suddenly. “You.. you really wanted to confess to me?”
Kacchan glared at him, which instantly made him think he said the wrong thing. “Don’t act so damn surprised.” He muttered. “I don’t care what that floaty dumbass told you, you’re fucking amazing, you hear me? You’re the best damn person I know and *nobody* deserves you.—
Least of all some manipulative liar who wanted to cut you off from everyone else.” He scoffed.

Izuku watched him silently for a long moment. “And you?” He asked eventually.

“What about me?” Kacchan muttered.

“Do you deserve me?” Izuku asked. He felt conceited asking it and—
he blushed immediately.

To his surprise, Kacchan blushed too. “No.” He said. “Probably not. But if I ever got the chance, i’d make sure every single day you knew how special you were. And how amazing, and how much you mean to me.” he said.

Izuku didn’t realize he was walking—
closer until he was barely an inch away from kacchan. He looked at him and held his gaze for a long moment. “I’m sorry about your mistletoe.” He mumbled.

Kacchan shrugged weakly. “It was lame anyway.” He said.

Izuku snorted. “No it wasn’t.” He caught himself pretending there—
was a mistletoe above them right then, as he leaned forward and pressed his lips against Kacchan’s.

The word about what Ochako did spread through their class and the rest of the school like wildfire. It turned out her prediction that their breakup would cause an uproar on—
social media was correct, only it wasn’t Izuku was getting the short end of the stick over it. He honestly felt bad for her but it didn’t seem like anyone else did.

“She fucking deserves it.” Kacchan said when Izuku mentioned it to him. “She fucked around and found out.”
He grinned. Izuku felt mean for laughing at that. “It’s her problem, not yours.” kacchan assured him and then leaned in and kissed him.

That was a pretty common occurrence for them these days, but they were still taking things slow. They decided they should take some time to—
really figure out their feelings, and also that going public right away might not be the best idea. Hero romances and ratings be damned. Izuku thought that after everything that happened, taking it slow was a pretty great idea.
And he didn’t mind it one bit, because he knew no matter how slow they were taking it now, he was never gonna let Kacchan go again.

dkbk where they have a kid and izuku quickly realized it's not what he signed up for

he loves his little sunshine as much as he loves kacchan (sometimes even more) but the thing is, their toddler is *jealous*

mostly he's jealous of izuku whenever he has kacchan's attention
so if they're all sitting together on the couch and izuku puts his arm around kacchan, the baby will start crying and climbing over izuku into kacchan's lap, demanding his attention

and of course kacchan will always give it
this wouldn't really be a problem for izuku -- he knows babies need a lot of attention and he'd never want to deprive his son of anything

if only it didn't completely take away from *him* ever having kacchan's attention anymore

dkbk where katsuki is a vampire and izuku is his human boyfriend and just an absolute simp for him

They’ve known each other since they were kids and izuku’s always known he loved kacchan, so he knew he would do anything for him, anything that kaccahn

And when kacchan got turned into a vampire (izuku still wasn’t sure how exactly that happened) of course he stayed by his side without hesitation

The first time kacchan came home with blood staining his mouth and announced he accidentally killed someone,
izuku thought he would freak out. But instead he helped kacchan drag the body back home and get rid of the evidence

He thought he’d feel more guilty about that, but in the end that was just some faceless stranger and they weren’t more important than his kacchan

dkbk where when katsuki gets pregnant, everyone is shocked by the news

Partly because nobody expected katsuki would ever even want kids and at first they all think it was an accident, but they’re even more surprised when they learn it was planned
The most surprising thing about it all though, is how deku starts to act

From the moment katsuki’s scent starts changing and they find out they’re having a baby, he becomes extremely protective of his mate — to the point it causes trouble
Katsuki has to tell him multiple times a day that he can’t just *jump* peopl me in the street for walking a little too close to him

And he definitely can’t go attacking random civilians who want katsuki’s autograph or picture

But katsuki has all the brains *and* power he needs to win
So it pisses him off whenever deku manages to steal the flag from his team
