The NFL is 95% vaccinated, the NBA is 97% vaccinated, the NHL is nearly 100% vaccinated. All three leagues are still overwhelmed with covid cases & hitting new covid case highs. So how is @JoeBiden arguing vaccines will end covid? The pro sports leagues prove that’s 100% a lie.
The sports leagues all have levels of covid vaccination that are nearly 100%. The players are far younger & healthier than the overall population. Yet they are all overrun with covid. The pro sports leagues data definitively prove that vaccines won’t end covid. Biden’s lying.
If the media was doing its job they’d point to pro sports leagues and ask Biden and Fauci to explain what’s going on there. Those leagues did exactly what you asked and got everyone vaccinated. Yet all three leagues are presently hitting all time highs for covid cases.
Not asking these questions is the very definition of being anti-science. We have a massive control group of almost 100% vaxxed healthy young athletes being tested regularly & they have way more covid cases this year after vaccines than they had last year with no vaccines. How?
I’m clearly not a scientist or an expert in medicine, but the pro sports data tells a clear story for anyone with a functional brain: vaccines, even if everyone has them, won’t end covid. In fact, they may make covid positivity even more common.
These athletes are smart about their bodies. They see this all happening and have very real questions. They know the vaccines aren’t ending covid. But they see what happens to athletes who speak out and ask questions so they (mostly) stay quiet. This is all wrong & anti-science.

If the NFL were smart — which the league often isn’t — they would move the Super Bowl out of Los Angeles to Miami, Tampa, Dallas or Houston — four cities you know aren’t shutting down crowds at events. Because the LA & California Super Bowl restrictions are going to be a mess.
It’s eminently predictable where blue states and blue cities will go as covid cases continue to rise during the winter. LA & California are going to keep layering on restrictions through January so they can claim they are “following the science.”
These covid restrictions are all going to be bullshit — and they’ll be totally ineffective — but they are highly likely to come, killing the Super Bowl crowd, festivities and experience in the process. The NFL should be proactive not reactive and move the game now.

Kirk Cousins got absolutely destroyed by the sports media for multiple days for refusing to get the covid vaccine. Lamar Jackson refused to get the covid vaccine & has now tested positive twice. He came back to practice today and I’ve seen almost no blue checks rip him at all.
I think the NFL’s covid policy is nonsensical. And that every player should make his own health choice. But why did Kirk Cousins, who didn’t even test positive, get destroyed for multiple days over covid & Lamar Jackson gets essentially ignored?
It’s similar to the way the media is covering vaccinations. The lowest vaccine percentages in the country are black & Hispanic people by far. Yet the media consistently rips the unvaccinated as if they are all red state Trump voters. Do facts matter or not?

Blockbuster story from Washington Post citing CDC data acknowledging covid vaccines offer limited protection against delta variant spread. Rate of virus transmissions have been found to be similar for vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Read it yourselves: washingtonpost.com/health/2021/07…
If pursuing the truth no matter where it leads you was truly the standard for journalism awards @AlexBerenson would get all of them. And he’s done it just by letting the data lead him instead of selling prevailing narratives of the powerful and covering his eyes.
Whatever limited faith the public had in the CDC has been crippled over the past 18 months. Much of the covid data has been public for months before the CDC reacts or acknowledges it. This is made worse by labeling legit analysis as misinformation on social media & censoring it.

Scottie Pippen STILL gets crushed for pulling himself out of a playoff game against the Knicks because a play wasn’t called for him. And the blue check brigade on here wants to tell me Simone Biles is a hero for quitting in the middle of a team event? This is crazy.
I mean, athletes can quit on their teams whenever they want. It’s their right. But it isn’t remotely heroic or praiseworthy. And anyone who has ever been on a team at any level would be furious if a teammate said the moment was too big and they refused to play in the biggest game
This is why most of us put our kids in athletics in the first place — to learn how to handle pressure, work as teammates, & succeed or fail in competition. These are traits that carry forward in life, long after sports are over. It’s why my kids are in sports now.

Tom Brady doesn’t go in for the Super Bowl for the second half because of the mental pressure he feels. LeBron James takes himself out of the NBA Finals game 7 because of the mental pressure he feels. What would the reaction be compared to Simone Biles? Debate, discuss.
Remember how much Jay Cutler got crushed for an NFC title game INJURY that left him on the sidelines. How much does make vs female factor in here? I think a ton.

In 1996 Kerri Strug landed a one foot vault to win the US gold. In 2020 Simone Biles pulled herself out of competition because of mental issues and her team won silver. Debate, discuss.
My general read: athletes, and all young people, spend way too much time on social media and it is often very bad for mental health. The more time you spend on social media, the more mentally unhealthy you often are. This is a larger societal problem reflected in athletics.
Instead of allowing coaches, teammates, your family and friends to primarily impact your mental health and state of well being, many now allow anonymous people on social media to define & pressure them. It’s toxic. I’m keeping my own kids off social media as long as I can.
