Ever since New York first went after Trump’s tax returns, THE story has been that if Trump lost reelection he’d end up in prison. But the media ignored this, and Palmer Report took shit (from both sides) for being the only one to say it. Now everyone’s finally starting to see it.
Trump knew he was going to end up in a New York prison if he lost. It’s why he went to such desperate, delusional, and self defeating lengths to try to steal /overthrow the election. Those were the actions of a man who knew his life was over if he left office.
Yet the media ignored the huge story that Trump was on track for state prison if he lost, and instead went with the false narrative that if Trump lost he could just magically stay in office forever no matter what. False and absurd, but scarier, and thus more ratings-friendly.
Even after Trump was gone from office, the media still ignored THE story, which was that Trump was on track for prison in New York. Instead it went with the incredibly absurd fictional narrative that Trump would magically make a comeback in 2024.
But now that grand jury proceedings seem to be ramping up, and the Manhattan DA is two weeks from retirement, the odds are decent that Trump’s indictment is just days away. So now the media, having acted all along like this would never happen, has to begin covering its ass.
So now the media is talking about it, but acting as if it came out of nowhere. Wait, you mean when New York went to the Supreme Court to get Trump’s records, it wasn’t just for kicks? Wait, that grand jury has been working on indictments, not crossword puzzles, all this time?
So why did the media ignore that Trump was on track for prison?

1) Good news isn’t good for ratings

2) They didn’t know WHEN Trump would be indicted, didn’t want to shit from impatient audiences

3) Couldn’t hype “Trump comeback” for ratings if you admit he’s going to prison
Look at how much shit Palmer Report has taken for being the only one to ACCURATELY cover Trump’s ongoing path to a New York prison.

Look at how little blowback the mainstream media has faced for pretending Trump would magically remain in office, magically come back in 2024, etc.
So you can see why the media goes this route. It faces no consequences for pushing doomsday fiction as long as it’s so scary that 1) you’re too petrified to logically think it through, and 2) when it doesn’t happen you’re too relieved to realize you’ve been played for ratings.
The kicker is that even as the media finally starts admitting that Trump is on track for New York indictment, it’ll still frame it as something that’s stunning, instead of having been an obvious outcome all along.
What’s more, now that the media has to acknowledge Trump is on track for new York indictment, it’ll just shift right into its next doomsday narrative, which will either be that 1) he’ll be acquitted, or 2) his indictment will lead to wide scale violence. These are both bullshit.
New York is (intentionally) targeting Trump with the kinds of straightforward financial charges that essentially always result in conviction. If David Cay Johnston’s prediction is correct about racketeering charges, there will also be simpler financial charges.
And no, Trump won’t magically be acquitted because he’s a former President, or because he’s famous, or because of his “base.” But this will be the new doomsday narrative, because it’s scary, and if the media repeats it every day, you’ll start to succumb to the fear behind it.
No, there won’t be wide scale violence either. Trump losing and being booted from office was a far bigger blow to Trump fans than him being indicted or imprisoned. 1/6 was, obviously, the height of their violence – and only got that far because Trump blocked the national guard.
So no, Trump isn’t going to magically avoid conviction because he’s Trump, or because his supporters are going to successfully storm the courthouse and take it over. But you’ll hear this kind of crap anyway, because doomsday narratives are good for ratings.
The media and the doomsday pundits said Trump would successfully rig the 2020 election, overturn it in court, remain in office through force, avoid ever being indicted, and make a wild eyed comeback. WRONG at every turn. Now they’ll insist Trump will be acquitted. Wrong again.
Bonus points for bullshittrery will go to any pundits who try suggest that Trump being criminally indicted will just “embolden” him and cause him to definitely magically make a comeback in 2024. The media used to love insisting that every blow Trump took merely “emboldened” him.
Anyway, no one knows for sure when Trump will be indicted in New York, only that he almost certainly will be. Will it be just before Vance leaves office in two weeks, or after Bragg comes in and makes the call? Vance knows, maybe he’s told Bragg, but no one on the outside knows.
But because there’s a realistic CHANCE that Vance will indict Trump before this month is over, the media has to do that thing where it finally admits the obvious thing may be about to happen, but frames it as a surprise, and predicts it’ll have a doomsday outcome anyway.
And once New York does indict Trump, Palmer Report won’t get a lick of credit for having called it right all along. What’s the media going to do, congratulate us for having called out their bullshit? They can’t. Palmer Report will remain forever punished for having been right 🤷‍♂️

To those of you who say that I’m the only thing keeping you sane when I poke holes in the media’s doomsday hysteria: why are you listening to all that doomsday hysteria to begin with? Stop listening to it, and you won’t need me to keep you sane 🙂
If you know you’re just going to come to me so I can disprove the doomsday stuff, then you already know that the doomsday stuff is easily disproven manipulative nonsense. So why expose to it yourself to begin with? Don’t let yourself be manipulated like that.
The doomsday pundits don’t care if you keep figuring out that they’re full of it. They only care that you keep tuning in, so they can keep getting the exposure and ratings. Until you turn them off, they’re still getting the only thing they care about.

Today’s a great day to be off Twitter. The defeatist losers on our side, and the scumbag pundits who pander to the defeatists’ broken brains, have taken over today. Let’s go watch football, let these losers tire themselves out, and we’ll get back to fighting and winning tomorrow.
The defeatists WANT to lose. They’re either so clinically depressed that losing comforts them, or they’re such rage addicts that they want to lose so they can feel more outrage. The defeatists are NOT political activists. They’re dangerous zombies. We have to work around them.
Like any other zombies, if the hordes of defeatists get ahold of you, they’ll turn you into one of them – a mentally unsound person with a shattered mind who thinks “activism” means going around insisting you’re going to lose no matter what. These types are your SWORN ENEMY.

Now that the 1/6 committee has unearthed enough dirt for the media to want to run with it as a Trump/GOP scandal, the media no longer feels compelled to make up phony Biden scandals for ratings, and Biden’s approval rating is ticking upward accordingly. Funny how that works.
Keep in mind that the media (with the exception of Fox) doesn’t want to have to rely on phony Biden scandals for ratings. That causes credibility issues for them, and it turns out phony Biden scandals don’t boost ratings much anyway. It’s just all they’ve had to work with lately.
Trump is under criminal investigation in three jurisdictions, two of which have reached the grand jury stage. Huge pivotal story. But info publicly surfaces so slowly at this stage of a criminal probe, the media can’t do daily stories on it, and so mostly just ignores it.

When the 1/6 committee kept the name hidden of the congress member who texted Mark Meadows, we said the committee was trying to bait that person into stupidly outing themselves. Sure enough, Jim Jordan just stupidly outed himself:

palmerreport.com/analysis/so-th…
Jordan outed himself so he could argue that the committee inadvertently placed a period at the end of his text message. That’s pretty stupid, but he’s pretty stupid. You take down stupid criminals by baiting them into taking themselves down.
Why is it better for the committee that Jordan outed himself?

1) It didn’t have to risk looking partisan by forcibly outing him

2) Makes it easier to subpoena him (and get contempt charges to stick if necessary), because he’s admitting he sent the text.

The pundits who yell "we're running out of time" aren't trying to motivate you go out and fight. They're trying to convince you that you're doomed no matter what, so instead of going out and fighting, you might as well just stare at your screen and drive up their ratings.
Their definition of "we're running out of time" is always some variation of 1) the midterms are next week, 2) we've already lost the midterms, 3) we're all doomed by this time tomorrow anyway, or 4) Democratic leaders are all cowardly idiots who are going to lose no matter what.
Nowhere in any of this doomsday rhetoric is there ever a viable suggestion for how to actually win. It's always unrealistic nonsense like "subpoena everyone right this second!" or "replace this Democratic leader in the middle of the term." Things that obviously would never work.

It's starting to sound like Manchin is more willing to cave on voting rights at this time, than on Build Back Better. So if Democratic leadership is going in that direction, it's smart. Get Manchin to cave on voting rights now, find a way to get him to him to cave on BBB later.
"But Manchin will never cave no matter what!"

Uh, no. Manchin (and Sinema) already caved on the first half of the infrastructure bill, which is now law. Why do we listen to the fools who insist Manchin and Sinema will never cave on anything, when they've ALREADY CAVED on things?
"But the democrats will lose the midterms because BBB didn't pass!"

Again, no. We have all of 2022 to find a way to pass BBB. The midterms are in November 2022, and not, as so many doomsday pundits want to pretend, taking place next week.
