Sleydo’ Molly Wickham confronts NAB about its lending to the Coastal Gaslink Pipeline

Sleydo’ Molly Wickham a spokesperson for Gidimt’en checkpoint on Wet'suwet'en territory speaks about her experience of being violently arrested and removed at gunpoint on Nov 19 from her own territory at Coastal Gaslink's request, a project that NAB has provided funding for.

She asks NAB '"Are you willing to take accountability for that in the face of your commitment to UNDRIP and your commitment to human rights as a national bank?"

Sleydo' asked if the NAB was content to have a reputation for being involved in the ongoing genocide of Indigenous people and if they will take accountability. (It gets hard to hear what Sleydo' is saying due to static)

Banks and their board members are not taking responsibility for their involvement in criminal land theft and illegal projects like Coastal Gaslink, which continue to perpetuate colonial violence against Indigenous people.

This is the time to confront investors and let them know that their destruction of the earth is illegal, immoral. We will not stop standing up against Coastal Gaslink. This fight is far from over, stand with us - we are more powerful together! Every action counts.
