Once I shared on my newsletter than I was reading Adam's latest book, so many of you suggested what they described his best book.
And boy - what a read!
Made sense of the world instantly through givers and takers. amzn.to/3rinv9a
4. Rest: Why You Get More Done When You Work Less by @askpang
Since stepping down as the CEO of nearbuy.com, this has been the biggest shift in my life. Working less, to do more.
The book helped immensely making sense of it.
I had never read an Osho book till date. After watching Wild Wild Country on Netflix in 2020, I was intrigued and picked this one up.
Stunning book! Challenged a lot of my notions, in a good way.
Easily one of my best reads of all times. WHAT A STORY. What an incredible story. I have listened to David several times and this book made me respect his thoughts a lot more.
7. Factfulness: Ten Reasons We Are Wrong About The World by @HansRosling
The world in general needs this book more than ever before, where everyday we are hit by doomsday news and we lose sight of the progress we continue to make as a civilization.
8. #Tatastories: 40 Timeless Tales to Inspire You by Harish Bhat
Harish is the brand custodian at Tata and was kind enough to gift me this. These wonderfully crafted 40 stories about Tata's legacy made me respect the group even more than I already do.
12. Seeking Wisdom: From Darwin to Munger by Peter Bevelin
This had been in my to-be-read list for the longest time. The slowest read of the year for me, and for the right reasons. This frankly is the only book one needs in life :)
Building on my fascination for the Tata Group, this biography of JRD Tata is such a befitting contribution to the man and vision behind Tata. Thoroughly enjoyed this one!
This was the surprising book of the year. I frankly didn't expect it to enjoy it and I think I ended up enjoying this the most of all. It was after years that I found it hard to put down a book
I have long admired Vishen's vision around MindValley and finally got around to reading his book. The book is refreshingly honest, authentic and uses one of my fav words "unfuckwithable" :)
Books have for long been wonderful friends and every year reading and re-reading them makes me feel so grateful to all those who take out the time to share their journeys with us.

Dad joined a company and in a year got an offer for double the salary and a car.
This was 1990! And a big deal!
He quit his job, joined the new company, which shut down in a year.
He was without a job for 2 years.
Mom and dad did odd jobs to keep the home running.
Every smart person continued to ridicule dad for taking that call.
But my dad insisted that he would have still taken the call. There was no way to know!
He could have very well succeeded and heralded a hero.
Lesson 1:
Risk and failure is not absolute.
It is a state of mind.
Audio captures not just the thoughts but also our emotions at that moment.
Which is super helpful, when we hear it again in the future.
Bonus: Start the voice note with "I am recording this while I was doing..."
Context helps.
2. Pomodoro Technique
A time management technique that's proven to maximize productivity and attention.
Break your day into 25min chunks followed by a 5min break (this 30min unit is called Pomodoro).
After about 4 pomodoros, take a longer break of 15-20mins.
People who look at the same thing but from a different perspective, widen your own horizon and understanding of the world.
Resist the echo chambers you are in.
Do not spend time only with those who are like you.
How?
a) Pick up something that hasn't been working for you - could be anything - interviews, exams, dating etc.
b) Identify someone whose advice you would NEVER consider, because you think they do not understand you or your world.
c) Ask them how would they approach it?
