The past couple of days have been crazy, yet full of learning opportunities.
Everyone wanted a piece of $RIDE (who doesn’t?)
The FOMO was real. But like every token listing, some people can get ahead of others.
Surely, everyone who follow the story is already aware of the bots from 2 staking agencies and an #Elrond affiliate who were able to purchase first and drained most of the liquidity which caused tremendous increase in $RIDE price.
While this is normal in the crypto world for old timers, the Elrond team recognized that being “normal” is not enough to achieve mass adoption.
Because of this, the team went out of their way to recover some of the profits and distributed it back to affected community members.
They didn't have to, but this goes to show their unwavering commitment to the community. Moreover, the team is also working on some security mechanisms to protect non-techie investors and prevent the same incident from happening again.
Only an A-class team will do what the #Elrond did for the community. In fact, it may even be the first time in #crypto history that a team would go the extra mile to give community members a second chance.
But, it wasn’t just the effort of the Elrond team that made it fruitful.
We should also recognize the generosity of the staking providers; Staking Agency and Rosetta Staking.
A lot of confused / hurt community members took out their frustration and anger on them. Yet, while they didn't have to, they still decided to give back some of their profits.
It shows how much they value the community and that they didn’t mean to hurt anyone. Like all of us, they wanted to get in early because they know the value of $RIDE and $EGLD.
It’s saddening that after one incident people forgot their contributions in building the community.
For those who are not aware, Dr. Delphi made the bots on telegram we are using now. He also won the Battle of Nodes #BoN (twice), a contest for validators to ensure the security of the nodes. Staking Agency is also the #3 staking provider serving thousands of people.
As for Ben, He was also pivotal in the #BoN event too, stress testing the nodes and providing great technical knowledge to everyone.
These staking providers have done so much not only for the growth of the technology, but also for the growth of our community.
We hope that people can get past the pain and frustration and start to see things clearly.
Only when we decide to put this incident behind us can we start to grow again together as a community.
Let’s take note of what happened and move forward without persecuting anyone.
Let’s show our support for the team and all the community members. Let’s show them our #ElrondWarrior spirit!

While the latest @coinbureau video about Elrond did have some merit, there is a lot of incorrect information relating to $eGLD. Let's look at the facts and get some clarity
Actually, the top 10 wallets are the Staking contracts, Exchange's wallets (Hot and cold) and also company reserves. Not some mega whales. Check out the graphic below
