1) Interestingly, historically - west or middle European attacks on Russia were perhaps more numerous than the Russian attacks on the west. European narrative of a permanent victimhood is a complex military political expansionist mindset that covers a whole slew of faultlines.
2) East Europe faced its most brutal attacks not from Russia, but from murderous Steppe hordes, Mongols and Turks, Teutonic knights crusaders (yes they put their tails between rumps after a century in the Levant but had their pleasure on Poles, Lithuanians, assorted Germanics)
3) Europe mounted at least four major campaigns against Russia over the last two centuries, one of which was formally on securing of protection of orthodox communities under Islamist Ottoman empire - when Christian France and UK joined hands with Muslim Ottomans against Russia.
4) With the exception of a brief Bolshevik bed sharing with Islamists in central Asia (Cominternists carried away in ideological stupor), Russians hv been the most consistent of Viking-mixes in stalling or clearing land of expanding or entrenched jihadis in west-central Asia.
5) While Europe is abandoning the crucial band from subtropical Atlantic coast of Africa to Pacific coast of China, with the major portion its handing over on a platter to jihadis -it will become more dependent on the land route over Russia to China - its outsourced manufacturer.
6) Handing Africa over to mullahs and doing everything possible to protect and strengthen the hands of Sunni grip on both sides of Red Sea and Indian Ocean, means "we have the shipping" will not really work in scoffing the land route.
7) Strangely Europe hates both two fortified camps of white skin (which it otherwise holds on to dearly) that diverts, flanks and distracts the middle eastern jihad - Russia and Israel. These two serve as detractors and thorns on the flank of Asian jihad against Europe.
8) Europe created the resurgence of jihad as a detractor over the last two centuries out of its hatred for cultural entities it sees as the hated "other" oriental/Asian. Its angry that Russia is moving into what its trying to hand over to mullahs in Africa and Asia.
9) For Europe, human rights of jihadis matter more than the human rights of victims of jihadis. Hence they are whining about Wagners alleged loving characteristics - which they think is more loving than what Europeans themselves provided to Lumumba or similar others.
10) Its ironic that a think tank in Austria doesnt realize the importance of a flank that keeps the jihadi horde distracted - when it was a marginalized Austria that found itself having to stop Ottoman expansion at the gates of its imperial capital, with forces from its east.

1) There is a grave risk when a text becomes a wishing mirror where we search for and find reinforcement of thoughts we were already leaning towards, perhaps without being aware of it. artofmanliness.com/character/advi…
2) the first flaw is the destruction or erasure of the context of the text itself: who created it for whom, when, and for what. When the Gita is picked apart for pieces that seem to strike a "solution" for our "problems", the context of the war in which it originated -gets lost.
3) even if it is suspected that there were accretions to the original composition, over time - all of those layers, both the presumed core and accretion, all tell a story and a view thats comprehensive - and is intimately connected to how the "Hindu" has traveled over the ages.

Just a reaffirmation that after the Brits, Americans hv been the greatest facilitators, and whitewashers of jihadi sadism on non-Christian non-Muslims - a brilliant proxy to express religious and racist hatred of those the they consider as religious and racially Untermenschen.
Every campaign against "Islamophobia" is aimed at silencing those who criticize both the history and ongoing reality of jihadi atrocity on non-Muslims, as well as preventing the stories of victims of jihad from coming out and alerting the non-Muslim to take preventive measures.
There is a European problem, led by British colonial construction of colour based race identity - which becoming politically incorrect takes the cover of anti-Muslim wherever feasible within Europe. But that Euro racism is directed at anything that's visually different.

If a Hindu was lynched by "radical islamists" in India, unlike Pak PM, there wd be no "shamed" statement. Media wd report Hindutva fanatics did it. There cd be suo motu congnizance at midnight against and arrest for those who reported the murder for disturbing communal harmony.
Pak will make a show of arrests of those involved: in India, Hindus reporting this wd be arrested, and police will practice martial arts in custody. At the end of an impeccable investigation, judicial pondering, at worst provocation of existence of Hindus, wd be found guilty.
In Pakistan courts will grant a few life sentences, may be even a few hangings, all of which will be commuted or turned into fines under demand from pirs, sufi "saints". In India, kadi ninda will be given to Hindus for creating such fear that scared ppl do such lynchings .

1) This series has been a little controversial (historical details) but I think it captures much of what we know. What is interesting is what it shows inside the minds of current Israeli intelligentsia. All those fretting abt Indian aantels shd watch this.
2) for those not so familiar with Israel's internal dramas, the scriptwriters r trying their best to be what we call "progressive", choosing to focus on a "class"-struggle, homegrown insurgents seeking social justice (Panthers), Ash-Seph contests in backdrop of Yom-Kippur war.
3) For me, scriptwriters political preferences (even if it was part of character building for Meni) wr clear when Meni berates his pal Moshe Dayan's alleged thinking with p****, and also berates the effing "Zionists". Hindus will identify parallels in Bolly or Indian media.

@ramana_brf @EPButler The article is just trying to explore Indonesian state's Islamist framing of state tolerated religions. That implies in turn, editing of Hinduism to suit the view of the state. Its a significant thing, as a tool of state. Note something similar happened in India in the past too.
@ramana_brf @EPButler There was a slew of attempts to show "monotheistic" forms either to placate, or to survive, or to get a modicum of tolerance - "we are like you too - so why do you harry us!". This has coloured the discourse ever since. We are not free of it yet.
@ramana_brf @EPButler The "reform" movements from medieval, (even the last stages of Devagiri) all emphasized their "mono" aspects, and the new "mono"s derided what they saw as the older "not-purely-mono" strands.

None in this exchange stop to think if India wd hv really benefited from the brightness of these brightest. Leaching of talent is both a product of deliberate ideological flaws in the Indian state, as well as lack of strong identification with “home”. But there is more to this:
The brightest allowed into influential positions in institutions in seen to be key in financial, ideological dominance of western imperialism follow the same rules as in politics: in addition to talent they must show character flaws that wd make them toe their patron’s interests.
If ppl care to look carefully at the various statements/positions/activities of the “brightest” who hv also been allowed to “rise” to decisive roles, over the years, they will be able to see patterns that match what the colonial occupation regime in India would have appreciated.
