The doctor arrived at the hospital past midnight, underwent surgery, & saved the mother. Had he been killed by the soldiers, this mother would have died due to the absence of medical help.

#Maria went to meet the military commander of the Ethiopian troops in the area of Abi Adi. She met the Ethiopian colonel and explained to him what the Ethiopian troops did the night before. The colonel agreed that it will never happen again.

Another night, a group of Ethiopian soldiers raided the camp of the @MSF staff in Abi Adi. Pointing their Kalashnikovs, they forcefully entered the rooms & searched them thoroughly. The staff could do nothing but pray in silence so that their lives could be spared.

One of the health professionals who had been assisting my friend at Abi Adi Hospital got abducted by a group of Ethiopian soldiers early in the morning when he was heading to the hospital. He was the one who had the keys to the rooms in the hospital.

The soldiers took the health professional to their camp where they kept torturing and demonising him for a complete one day. He was freed from the camp but extremely traumatized & wounded. That was the final alarm for my friend. He lost hope & felt death was very imminent.

Having observed that the Ethiopian troops were acting wildly and with extreme savagery against health professionals working under @MSF and their deep-rooted hatred towards @MSF was getting worse, the medical doctor decided to flee Abi Adi on the 7th of June 2021.

In March, after the execution of #Tigrayan civilians in front of the @MSF staff, the Ethiopian soldiers finally took the driver of the @MSF staff, tortured him & wanted to kill him. But, some of them changed their minds & let him go.
