πŸ“š Came across a gem of a crypto reading recently by @cobie - Trading the Metagame

This made a lot of sense as I reflected on the past months of my crypto journey.

Adding this on with some nuggets from @TaikiMaeda2 's recent video!

🧠 Here are some of my brain-bites!
1/ Crypto can also be seen as a huge video game.

When we play a video game, we want to know the best strategies to get optimal results - this is also referred to as the meta.

Ideally, we want to know and buy the meta early, and sell at exuberance.
2/ But it is hard to identify metas

It is probably better to understand the dynamics of how and why a meta works.

This can be done in different ways:
- Inspiration from winners
- Solving problems from current failures
- Community traction
3/ Some winners this year are SoLunAvax.

#Luna succeeded with strong and easy to understand tokenomics.

#Avax has its strong incentive programs.

All 3 chains have a group of quality developers, thriving ecosystem and incentives.
4/ SoLunAvax have also succeeded in the context of the failures of scalability and usability of Ethereum.

New users see the success of Ethereum. Rather than jumping on and holding other OGs' bags, they want to find their own next gem.
5/ Even if we cannot accurately identify the meta, there are other actions we can take:

- exit previously held positions that are out of the meta
- rebalance longer term portfolios
- considering if you are early, or late, into a meta
6/ Usually when the meta is common knowledge amongst all participants, the meta is already shifting to something else.

If everyone has already bought and is excited about the meta, there are probably few buyers left.
These are some of my two cents from Cobie's article, but I would highly encourage reading the article in full and having your own takeaways too!

A nice complementary resource would be Taiki's recent video, as he shares his thoughts on the video and reflects on his 2021 experiences too.

If you enjoyed these short insights and want more, feel free to follow and exchange ideas with me!

Definitely looking forward to learning a lot more in 2022.

To a year of growth!

Some insights I gained from @TaschaLabs ’s recent video.

I like her thought process/framework for crypto, being able to observe crypto in a more macro view that easily makes sense.

A thread:
βœ… 1/ On blockchains:

- We can think about blockchains as nation-states with their own economies.

- A nation-state a thriving economy, built on sustainable growth, is hard to fall.
πŸ’‘ Personal thoughts: We can try to evaluate which blockchains are built on incentives, compared to others that are built organically.

Living abroad for some time has been a goal for me, albeit an uncommon one here in my country.

This article truly encapsulates why I'd want to live and work abroad in time to come.

3 main points:
1/ Embracing and immersing in new cultures make you feel alive.

The world is so big and we have experience just a tiny part of it.
2/ Helps to get out of our comfort zone, explore other life possibilities and contexts.

β€œOur context is not everybody’s context, and our ambition does not speak for everyone else.”

End of 2021 reflections, and reminders to self as I look ahead into #cryptocurrency investing in 2022.

4 simple parts to reflect upon and take action:
1/ Understand why you are here.

Based on your goals, strategies for making life-changing money, vs paying off loans, vs passive income source might be quite different.
2/ Mentality and discipline in investing.

Build good habits in rational investing, scaling off and taking good profits, killing off poor investments early.

Train your brain to make good decisions. It will pay off in the long run.
