THREAD: It took Miami resident @Rotulin 27 hours and 13 (!!!) city employees to pay a $75 fine. His Instagram story exposes this "absurd" system and, he says, shows "how full of shit @CityofMiami is." #BecauseMiami #CafecitoTalk #TechHub #HowCanIHelp /1 instagram.com/stories/highli…
According to the @CityofMiami website, in order to pay this $75 fine, the resident must "request a customer number" by emailing or calling the city, which he (accurately) describes as "a painfully ineffective system." #BecauseMiami /2
His email is received by @CityofMiami Finance Department Customer Service Supervisor who forwards it to a Customer Service Rep who, the next day, emails THREE additional city workers to "assist in verifying the ticket so the customer can be provided an invoice." #BecauseMiami /3
The resident follows up with a phone call to @CityofMiami and, while he is on hold for 41 minutes (before giving up), "ANOTHER SEVEN PEOPLE" at the city are added to the email thread just to help him pay a $75 fine. #BecauseMiami #CafecitoTalk #HowCanIHelp #MiamiTech /4
Finally, he is able to pay online with a debit card but is told "its [sic] going to take at least a day...until it clears our system," as he says, "Because in the @CityofMiami they live perpetually in 1994." #BecauseMiami #CafecitoTalk #HowCanIHelp #MiamiTech /5
"But Mayor @FrancisSuarez wants to make Miami a tech hub LOL," the resident concludes. Miami is the city of the future — and always will be. Forget sea level rise, this city will sink under the weight of its own incompetence and corruption. #BecauseMiami /6
The @CityofMiami's annual budget is now $1.3 billion, at least 72% of which goes to just two line items: Salaries and Benefits. All that money so that 13 city employees can help one resident pay a $75 fine. #BecauseMiami #CafecitoTalk #HowCanIHelp #MiamiTech #MiamiHustles /7

#BREAKING: Miami Mayor Francis Suarez's communications director sentenced to 6 years in federal prison for child porn after luring teen boy to city hall and groping him in the mayor's conference room, city paid boy $100,000 in taxpayer money #BecauseMiami: wsvn.com/news/local/mia…

Before Rene Pedrosa molested a boy in city hall, he was caught lying about prior convictions on his city application in Dec. 2018, a possible felony. Instead of being fired or prosecuted, Suarez allowed him to change his answer from no to yes and add two prior DUIs. #BecauseMiami Image
@FrancisSuarez Pedrosa was also arrested for “loitering or prowling” in 2011. Francis Suarez hired him anyway, allowing him to exploit government power to lure the boy to city hall "for a potential web design position for Mayor Suarez," only to molest him and solicit child porn. #BecauseMiami Image

#EXCLUSIVE 🧵: @HeraldOpEd claimed they didn’t know about the arrest record of Miami District 2 special election candidate James Torres when they endorsed him, but emails from board member Isadora Rangel reveal he disclosed it to them at least 6 days before publication. /1
Three days after #BecauseMiami called them out for endorsing Torres without mentioning his arrests, the Herald ran a story about it HOURS before election day and updated their original post: “Since publication of this recommendation on 2/23, new information...has surfaced.” /2
But it wasn’t “new information.” Multiple text blasts with his arrest record were sent to district voters in early February, Torres addressed it at candidate forums throughout the month, and disclosed it to @HeraldOpEd in a questionnaire one week before their recommendation. /3

El Nuevo Herald seems to purchase fake followers. We think that's a big deal. Here's why 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

One thing that disturbed us about the anti-Semitic ads in @elnuevoherald (besides the...anti-Semitism) is how it suggested the paper prioritizes ad rev over their duty to the public.
After the Herald admitted (thanks to @BecauseMiami) that it published hateful paid editorials without reading them I wanted to see what El Nuevo Herald's 500k followers had to say about the controversy.

It turns out...nothing. Not a thing. Not at all.

It is remarkable how little engagement @elnuevoherald has. An audit reveals their followers are mostly fake.

See images below and poke around their follower list and old tweets and see for yourself. Your uncle has more engagement and he's shadowbanned for posting about Qanon.
